Senior Media Producer
We’re looking for a self-motivated senior media producer who’s full of exciting ideas for how to communicate the future we are working to build with a global audience. You’ll play an integral role in shaping the Prometheus brand and telling the story of our groundbreaking technology. You’ll be joining an agile team, working with Prometheus designers and executives and freelance artists and agencies, to develop high-end presentations, infographics, web content, social media campaigns, and other various company communications.
You should be a detail-oriented writer and strategic thinker, with a proven track record for generating clear, creative, dynamic content that is well researched, cleanly written, and accurately reported.
This position reports to the Chief Creative Officer.
Responsibilities
● Write and edit content for our website, newsletter, and press releases
● Supervise the brand’s social media accounts and brainstorm creative ways to connect with our audience
● Oversee media outreach and arrange interviews with the press
● Attend and report from company-related events, including energy conferences, car shows, and motorsport competitions
● Work with the Chief Creative Officer to project the brand’s voice and grow our audience
● Willing to work across a broad range of activities to support team goals – growth-stage startups require diverse skills
Requirements
● 3 or more years experience as a journalist covering science, technology, automotive, or a combination thereof
● 3 or more years in PR or similar professional activities preferred
● Must be an excellent communicator, comfortable working under tight deadlines
● Adept at storytelling, specifically about science and technology
● Adept at prioritizing tasks and executing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-changing environment that requires flexibility, creativity, discipline, and resilience
● Able to maintain confidentiality
● Familiarity with SEO strategy and best practices is a plus
● Familiarity with a fast-paced technology startup environment is a plus
● Familiarity with energy industry is a plus
Additional Requirements
● Must be willing to work extended hours as needed
● Periodic travel to company-related events
Location of position is flexible, including remote or hybrid. Must be willing to commute when needed to our 20,000-sq prototyping and manufacturing facility in Santa Cruz, CA, less than one mile from the beach, in a walkable neighborhood with coffee shops, natural groceries, yoga studios, etc. – you don’t have to surf, hike, camp, or like perfect weather, but our location is a plus if you do.
