A non-union short film production is now casting lead actors, extras, and hiring crew for When the World Went Quiet, an emotional post-apocalyptic thriller filming in Arizona. This independent film follows two siblings navigating a dangerous world shaped by infection, survival, and silence.

Produced in association with the University of Arizona, this indie film project is seeking passionate actors and experienced crew members ready to collaborate on a powerful, character-driven story. If you’re looking to build credits in a dramatic thriller inspired by projects like The Last of Us and A Quiet Place, this is your opportunity to get involved in a compelling independent production.

Job Responsibilities

Cast:

• Perform scripted scenes in a survival thriller short film

• Participate in self-tape or in-person auditions

• Collaborate closely with director and cast members

• Portray emotionally grounded, high-stakes characters

• Be comfortable with scenes involving blood, prosthetics, and intense themes (if applicable to role)

Crew:

• Support film production across designated department

• Collaborate with production leadership and creative team

• Assist in creating a professional and efficient set environment

• Fulfill technical and logistical duties specific to position

Requirements

Lead Role – Aaron Parker:

• Male actor

• Rugged, protective, strong dramatic presence

• Ability to portray layered emotional depth

Lead Role – Lexi Parker:

• Female actor, ages 14–16

• Any ethnicity (Latin/Hispanic preferred)

• Must appear youthful and strong-willed

• Comfortable with blood and zombie-style elements

Extras – The Infected:

• Any age

• Any ethnicity

• Comfortable wearing prosthetics

• Comfortable with blood effects
