We are a growing e-commerce company with product lines in the health and fitness sectors looking for a full-time and experienced Media Buyer to research, negotiate and buy Linear TV media including National Broadcast and Cable Networks, MVPDs, Unwired as well as syndication. This position leads the execution of our TV advertising campaigns. The candidate must be forward-thinking and possess a deep understanding of the changing media landscape and its influence on pricing, purchasing and data-driven attribution.
Prepare and execute media plans designed to achieve optimal campaign parameters
- Negotiate pricing and purchase all types of TV inventory
- Cultivate relationships within the media industry at junior and senior levels. Maintain daily contact and continuously update inventory, pricing and availability
- Measure and deliver optimal bidding, pacing, and performance to maximize KPIs across Linear TV
- Ensure creative is properly coded and trafficked for accurate tracking and performance results
- Day-to-day monitoring, management, optimization and development of assigned campaigns
Closely track and report TV & Digital analytics campaign performance reports
- Monitor stations for competitive activities, economic and demographic changes, etc. Seek out unique opportunities (e.g. firesales, packages, etc.)
- Run, update, and prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
- Update and run daily/weekly log request reports and input into attribution systems
- Continually process and track buy information, get quotes and rate cards to build a pricing database
- Develop, update, and maintain all media lists
- Generate, confirm, and track media buys including stewardship (monitoring, reconciling and posting)
Work closely with the Media Team to ensure healthy customer acquisition growth for all product lines
- Master the use of our internal Measurement Trackers and create new ones to build out our capabilities
- Stay on top of market and industry trends that would impact the company’s product lines
- Develop media briefs and source new opportunities
- Keep high levels of consistency across multiple shared resources (media plan, core, logs, etc.)
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience (TV station, Agency or In-House) in directly managing DRTV-focused DTC campaigns
- 3+ years of experience with TVsquared, iSpot, DRmetrix, Sigma, CORE, or similar TV tracking and research tools
- Experience and contacts with TV ad sales reps for major networks (FOX, NBC, CNN), Unwired (National, Cable & Broadcast), Dish and DirectTV as well as local stations and consortiums (e.g. Sinclair, etc)
- Excellent analytical skills using forecasting, media-mix modelling and simulations to make data-driven decisions including the use of first, second and third-party data
- Ability to learn various systems and databases quickly while managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong MS Office skills, including Excel (vlookup, pivot tables), Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Project
- Comfortable dealing with large amounts of data and the ability to perform advanced computations
