About the Project: Kids Help Phone (KHP), Canada’s premier 24/7 e-mental health service for young people, is embarking on an ambitious journey to shed light on the emotional rollercoaster faced by young athletes. Through our upcoming commercial, “Breaking Boundaries: The Power of Mental Health in Sports,” we aim to promote mental health awareness and support among young athletes, showcasing the challenges and triumphs of sports. This project seeks to capture the raw emotions, dedication, and resilience of young athletes and the supportive role of their coaches. We invite sports teams of athletes aged 12-18 years old and their coaches to be part of this groundbreaking initiative.
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate actively and professionally in the commercial shoot, following the director’s guidance and instructions.
- Portray the experiences of young athletes, highlighting the emotional aspects and mental health challenges they face in sports.
- Collaborate with production staff, other athletes, and coaches to ensure a smooth and efficient shooting process.
- Be prepared to share personal experiences or portray scenarios related to mental health in sports, maintaining respect and confidentiality.
Requirements:
- Teams of athletes aged 12-18 years, from any sport, along with their coaches. We highly encourage diverse teams to apply.
- Athletes must have permission from a parent or guardian to participate.
- Teams and coaches must be available for the entire day on April 18th and be able to travel to the shoot location.
- Previous acting experience is not required; however, teams should be comfortable being on camera and able to convey emotions and actions authentically.
- A signed release form from each participant (athletes and coaches) will be required.
Compensation: Each participating team will be honored with a $1000 honorarium as a token of appreciation and to cover any incidental expenses.
