Casting Call: Voice Actor for Animated Feature “Julián”
Job Description: We are seeking a talented voice actor for the upcoming animated feature “Julián.” The successful candidate will bring to life the character of Abuela, a central figure with a rich background and complex emotions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide voice-over work for the character Abuela, ensuring the delivery is consistent with the director’s vision.
- Participate in script read-throughs, rehearsals, and recording sessions.
- Work closely with the production team to bring authenticity to the character’s Afro-Caribbean heritage.
- Collaborate with other voice actors for ensemble scenes.
- Be available for potential re-recordings or additional dialogue if needed.
Requirements:
- Female, aged 40-60, Black, of Afro-Caribbean descent, preferably with a Dominican Republic heritage.
- Fluent in Spanish; able to perform with confidence and authenticity. English proficiency required, as it is the character’s second language.
- Canadian citizenship or residency is a must, as the role requires the actor to be located in Canada.
- Ability to convey a range of emotions and characteristics – from wisdom and warmth to complexity and a sense of a life lived with its fair share of challenges.
- Prior voice acting experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
Compensation:
- Competitive pay rate commensurate with experience.
- Travel and accommodation expenses covered for non-local talent if required.
- Credit in the film and associated promotional materials.
