Job Summary:Â
Responsible for designing wovens category of the product line and ensuring perfect fit into production.
Â
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and develop the Michael Stars product lines according to market trends and the Michael Stars vision
- Research trends and bring in new ideas through: competitive shopping; textile shows; reviewing trend services, tear sheets, magazines, trade journals and websites
- Communicate with tech designer to perfect sketches, specs, and tech packs
- Attend fittings
- Partner with patternmaker, tech design and merchandising to develop cost saving, mass-marketable and quality control friendly alternatives and ensure all details are discussed and understood
- Create tech packs
- Meet all events/deadlines on design calendar
- Illustrator and free-hand flat sketching
- Research trims, fabrics and sourcing
- Make product presentations to internal team members
- Coordinate samples for special appointments
- Other related duties as required

Qualifications:
- AS or BA Degree from Art and Design College
- Creative visionary with a minimum of 5 years design experience within the contemporary market
- Proficient at Microsoft office, Illustrator, and Photoshop, Web PDM
- Have experience working both domestic and import
- Ability to handle multi-faceted projects with strong follow through      Â
- Able to work independently, as well as collaborate as a team player

Requirements

Previous on-set experience in your applied role

Ability to travel to one of the listed production cities

Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude

For Cam Ops: drone experience and access to drone kit

For Audio Techs: own audio kit
Compensation
-
Production Assistant: $220/12
-
Camera Operator/Drone: $650/12 + $150 drone kit fee

Audio Technician: $650/12 + $300 kit fee
