Alchemy is working alongside a New York Gallery, who are looking to hire an experienced Gallery Assistant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Gallery Director with the smooth running of the Gallery.
- Assist with Gallery administration tasks when required.
- Manage the galleries inventory database and complete the cataloguing and labelling of artworks.
- Complete all condition reports, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with international and domestic shipping of art in time for exhibitions, loans, sales and fairs.
- Updating the galleries system with documents and shipment records.
- Assist with the storage of the artwork and corresponding documents.
- Support the Gallery in organising the framing and conservation of the artworks.
- Carrying out photography of artworks.
Required Skills:
- Experience of working in a Gallery or similar organisation is essential.
- Confident administrator and ability to balance multiple tasks at once.
- Previous inventory management and cataloguing skills.
- Condition reporting and artwork labelling abilities.
- Experience with photography is beneficial for this role.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
