Overview
Job Description
The Associate Producer is an essential team member responsible for leading the creation and production of CNBC‘s live business news shows and show segments, working with the show Producer(s) on overall content and production. The Associate Producer should be able to line a regular daily live show with minimal guidance and supervision. The role is ideal for candidates with extensive TV production experience and knowledge of business and financial news content.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Producers in managing the show production team
- Plan and execute compelling story ideas in both live, pre-recorded and package formats
- Live gallery production, with responsibility to react to breaking news
- Effectively delegate tasks such as segments, scripts, graphics and guest bookings effectively
- Produce and project-manage live and pre-recorded outside broadcasts across APAC
- Clearly and respectfully communicate with producers, on-air talents, video editors, studio directors and graphic designers
- Partner and cooperate with teams in Operations, i.e., graphics and studio, to produce and deliver stellar live programming, and with CNBC global teams as required
- Build and maintain relationships with CNBC guests and contributors, as required
- Step up to line-produce a show, filling in for a Supervising or Senior Producer in the gallery, if required

Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in TV news production, monitoring, selecting and delivering breaking news
- Prior experience working in an international news organization with control room/gallery exposure would be advantageous
- Ability to manage very tight deadlines, work in a fast-paced and intense live news broadcast environment
- Excellent knowledge of business, economics, and financial markets in Asia
- A clear understanding of CNBC’s editorial and programming priorities
- Fluency in English and excellent communication skills are essential
- Knowledge of iNews, Final Cut Pro, TV Production systems, TV graphic systems would be advantageous
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Strong understanding of the role of social media in news broadcasting and multi-platform delivery
- University degree and/or equivalent experience
