Job Description
The Director, Publicity Awards will work with an internal team and consultants to manage and execute all aspects of strategic awards campaigns for Focus Features titles on a year-round basis. Position will liaise with Publicity, Events, Corporate, Creative, and other cross-divisional areas. The ideal candidate must have a creative and strategic background with more than 7 years of experience working on all facets of awards campaigns.
Essential Responsibilities
- Collaborate in crafting and executing awards campaign strategy throughout all phases.
- Manage agencies, develop timelines, and monitor benchmarks.
- Work with National VPs to oversee comprehensive talent campaigns with engagement across all areas: traditional/digital press, stunt/event activations and social platforms.
- Work with VPs to oversee management of all LA press days, press junkets, special screenings, premieres
- Work directly with talent reps on individual talent campaign execution.
- Liaise with leaders and nominating bodies of the Film Academy, guilds and other awards organizations.
Basic Qualifications
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in film publicity awards
- Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree
- Strong management skills required with experience supervising staff, the ability to delegate work, and provide guidance to employees.
- Experience in running a detailed budget across awards initiatives.

- Genuine love of all kinds of film and pop culture is a plus.

Salary range: $120,000 – $150,000: Bonus eligible, not Long-Term Incentive eligible

Inspired by the emotional depth of Silver Linings Playbook and the energy of Shall We Dance?, this story centers on Gio, a bartender rediscovering his passion for dance while facing personal rivalries and unresolved grief. The production will shoot for 24 days in San Diego and is backed by a screenplay that won Best Screenplay at the International Puerto Rican Heritage Film Festival and was a finalist in the Urban World Film Festival.
