We are seeking two outgoing, slim/athletic ladies to portray a butterfly or dragonfly at a live event at the Virginia Aquarium. The role involves strolling around, greeting attendees, and creating an engaging and fun atmosphere for guests. Costumes will be provided, and performers will be expected to bring a touch of sparkle and fun to the event.

Job Responsibilities:

• Walk around the event in costume, engaging with attendees and creating a welcoming environment.
• Dress up as a butterfly or dragonfly (costumes provided) and embody the playful and fun character throughout the event.
• Be prepared to do your own makeup (optional) or arrive early for professional makeup application.
• Represent the event in a friendly and outgoing manner, interacting with guests of all ages.

Requirements:

• Female, slim/athletic build.
• Must be comfortable wearing a costume and interacting with people.
• Must be able to self-report to the Virginia Aquarium event location.

Loosely based on the demon Lilith, the Witch is an enchanting yet terrifying presence, preying on and tormenting John, the lead character, throughout the experience. The Witch’s role evolves as the haunt progresses, with each appearance growing in intensity as she haunts and terrifies the audience and John alike.

This is a physical, movement-based role that demands an actor who can convey both elegance and menace. The Witch will play a central role in creating a chilling, immersive atmosphere for guests.

Job Responsibilities:

• Portray the Witch, a powerful and eerie figure who torments John throughout the haunted house experience.
• Use body language and movement to create an eerie, commanding presence.
• Interact with the audience and John, creating a sense of fear and suspense.
• Perform in various staged sequences as the Witch’s influence over John intensifies.
• Comfortably wear makeup and special effects (FX) to enhance the terrifying appearance of the Witch.
• Attend rehearsals and be prepared to work in a dynamic, immersive environment.

This is an exciting role requiring a performer who can embody arrogance at the start and progressively reveal vulnerability and terror as the haunted storyline develops.

• Portray John, an overconfident and disrespectful character who undergoes a transformation as the haunt progresses.
• Interact with the audience at the beginning of the experience, setting the tone as an obnoxious “bro.”
• Perform in various nightmare sequences as John’s worst fears come to life.

• Attend fittings and rehearsals to prepare for your character role and ensure proper costume fitting.
