Who you are
We are looking for a Public Relations and Influencer Specialist to reach new and prospective customers to Cognito Forms through Earned Media. This role will be responsible for increasing overall brand awareness, increasing the brand’s prestige, and protecting our reputation. In addition, you should be able to nurture and develop a relationship with journalists and secure coverage in high-profile and targeted media outlets.
What you will be responsible for
- Build key relationships with media and industry journalists while maintaining a media contact list
- Work closely with the content marketing team members to develop, edit, and write compelling content for earned media
- Create data-driven engaging pitches for the media and target publications directly to secure trade and business media coverage
- Serve as the point person in managing and reacting to press inquiries, ensuring Cognito Form’s response is timely and appropriate
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the communication plan
- Write PR and communication materials, including press releases, articles, blog posts, bylines, and thought leadership pieces
- Discover and manage influencer relationships
- Monitor, summarize, and distribute monthly reports to demonstrate measurable business results and ROI
- Continually improve the effectiveness of PR and Influencer efforts
What you should bring to the table
- 5+ years of in-house public relations and communication experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong relationships with outside media organizations
- Demonstrate a history of earned media from personalized pitches
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to perform in a fast-paced, diverse environment with demanding market needs
- Motivated, detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to handle a variety of tasks and responsibilities effectively with a high level of quality
- Experience using PR software: Meltwater, Cision or similar
- BS or equivalent experience in Communication or Public Relations preferred
