The short film “Carrying Home” is seeking a Director for an intimate, character-driven micro-budget production filming in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The story follows Achia, a nurse and single mother balancing two jobs, financial pressures, and family responsibilities between the U.S. and her home country. This passion project explores love, responsibility, sacrifice, and recognizing when enough is enough.
Job Responsibilities
- Direct the short film and guide its overall creative vision.
- Collaborate with the cast and crew to bring the character-driven story to life.
- Direct actors through intimate and emotionally grounded scenes.
- Work closely with the camera and sound departments throughout production.
- Maintain an efficient and collaborative environment during the one-day shoot.
Requirements
- Directing experience or relevant filmmaking experience preferred.

- Comfortable collaborating with a small cast and crew.
