Job Summary

Responsibilities:

- Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
- Manages outside vendors related to recreation and activities functions.
- Orders and manages necessary supplies. Ensures workers have supplies, equipment, tools, and uniforms necessary to do their jobs.
- Develops and manages the children’s program (e.g., coordinates activities, purchases equipment and supplies etc.).
- Develops and manages group activities and events for all ages of owner and guest.
- Drives and manages financial performance of the recreation department, activities, and contracted vendors to ensure optimal revenue for the resort.
- Communicates theming directions, projects, and timelines to property and corporate leaders as appropriate.
- Strategizes and partners with other department heads monthly and quarterly to assist in the delivery and execution of events /activities planning to enhance the Owner/Guest experience.
- Facilitate open communication with the supervisors and staff
- Facilitate proper inter-departmental communications and organization
- Perform staff evaluations and set development and performance goals, monitor progress.
- Ensure complete and satisfactory on-going staff training
- Technical Production
- Ensures that the integrity of all shows is maintained per the artist on all technical aspects.
- Demonstrates knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.
- Coordinates, directs, and schedules all activities of stage crew during rehearsals in the live music venue as well as for all live music program need.
- Oversees all pre-sets and all post performance strikes.
- Directs technical teams to assure technical elements for all shows and activities, such as audio levels, are appropriate for the guest demographic and set to the standard of the specific artist.
- Manages and schedule all A/V technicians and Technical Staff in various locations for all special events, Regular programming, etc.
- Will be responsible for all technical maintenance aspects of the Live Music Venue; as well as, all technical and sound equipment for the Entertainment Department.
- Providing and Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service
- Serves as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors as an Entertainment Ambassador to Savannah’s Entertainment District
- Provides services that are above and beyond for Owner/Guest satisfaction and retention.
- Improves service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education, License, Certifications, Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related training equivalent – required
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in similar scope and title – required
- Experience within luxury brand/markets – required
- Experience with Experience Design and Activity Programming – preferred

JOB SUMMARY
The overall objective and purpose of the Catering Sales Manager are to oversee the operation of the catering department. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating the activities of the conference personnel and room reservations team to make arrangements for group meetings, conferences, and social events. They are to provide inspiring and strategic leadership while directing the activities of the banquet department in support of the mission, core values, standards, and goals established by the company.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Have a working knowledge of the hotel and surrounding area including the history, culture and points of interest.
- Continually target and prospect new business using marketing and sales resources
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with competitive set and customers and actively participate in community organizations and professional associations to maintain visibility and market share
- Determine, develop and execute against existing and new accounts to achieve and exceed sales revenue expectations.
- Effectively use Kessler branded collateral throughout the sales process
- Assist marketing team through monthly/weekly update of wedding websites and social media with photographs, testimonials, and special promotions
- Travel as recommended to conduct outside sales calls and participation in trade shows
- Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel to include restaurant, spa, gallery and outlets
- Knowledge of all Kessler Collection hotels to effectively cross-sell
- Qualify incoming leads and send proposals, contracts and addendums as needed to negotiate catering business using marketing and sales resources
- Conduct tours of property to potential customers while informing of all hotel services available; entertain customers on property during site inspections, pre-planning trips, and program operation when appropriate. Complete required site forms to alert the hotel of the tours
- Follow up on outstanding proposals and contracts to effectively close business
- Collaborate with culinary operations in creating custom menus specific to clients’ budget needs
- Negotiate food and beverage minimums, meeting room rental, function space, and hotel services within approved booking guidelines
- Process definite contracts and route information effectively and appropriately to the hotel turnover catcher who in turn will forward on to the following Grand Performers using the turnover process:
- Event Services Manager
- Accounting Department
- Establish method of payment, collect initial deposit, and create posting master account prior to turnover to Event Services Manager
- Attend daily business review meetings to discuss catering opportunities
- Actively participate in all required sales/operational meetings
- Competently utilize the required systems/equipment and platforms to effectively evaluate availability, profitability and track the progress of groups from proposal through execution
- Maintain accurate, organized and up-to-date files including computer filing and sales platform records (attachments, traces, activities, etc.)
- Manage account details so all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented in required sales and catering system
- Track monthly production towards quarterly sales goals set forth by management using required documentation.
- Complete all required reporting and documentation
- Analyze competition, market trends and customer needs to continually assess the productivity against established goals and budgets:
- Annual comp set review of menus and pricing
- Quarterly review/ tour of comp set venues
- Use logic, integrity and sound judgment when making business decisions by considering the big picture, operational needs and impact on other departments
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Marriott Systems Experience – preferred
- College Degree – preferred
- Hospitality or related industry experience – required
- Previous event planning experience – required
- Valid Driver’s License – required

JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District
The overall objective and purpose of the Production Manager, under the direction of the Director of Entertainment and Activities, is to coordinate, schedule, and manage all technical aspects of District Live Music Venue, free entertainment offerings, and special events for Plant Riverside District. Coordinate, schedule, and manage all A/V technicians for District Live, free entertainment offerings, and special events. Manage and maintain all Entertainment Department production equipment inventory, coordinating repairs as necessary. Manage and maintain District Live production equipment inventory. Maintain the artistic standards and intentions of The Kessler Collection/JW Marriott, Live Nation, and Plant Riverside District Entertainment Department.
Areas of Responsibility/Tasks Primary areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to the following:
• Collaborate with the Entertainment & Activities Director to review the requirements of the Daily Entertainment Operations and any other company related correspondence, notices, policies, procedures, and other related details.
• Demonstrate knowledge of job-relevant issues, troubleshooting, equipment, systems, and processes and stay up-to-date on new production technologies.
• Advance all contacts and riders with artists, Live Nation, and technical crew, ensuring artists and crews have what they need to, maintaining the success and integrity of all shows.
• Coordinate, schedule, and manage all artists and technical crews for each show from advance to load-in, rehearsal, performance, and load-out in District Live as well as for free entertainment offerings throughout Plant Riverside District.
• Ensure all entertainment experiences are appropriately staffed with professional, vetted technicians.
• Coordinate with Box Office Manager, Food and Beverage Manager, and security staff for each District Live show regarding artist contracts and riders.
• Manage technical crews to assure production elements for all shows and activities, such as audio levels, lighting, and video, are appropriate for the guest demographic and meet the standard of the specific artist.
• Ensure artists and shows begin and end on time by coordinating and managing artists and technical crews.
• Utilize positive interpersonal and effective communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others.
• Advocate well-founded financial and business decision making and demonstrate honesty and integrity while leading by example.
• Create systems and processes while developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
• Assist in the growth, development, enhancement, and direction of entertainment experiences through research, communication, collaboration, and creative production design.
• Ensure the guest, artist, and technical crew entertainment experience is maintained to a high-level of standards.
