About the ANA Educational Foundation

The ANA Educational Foundation (AEF) annually manages over 300 executive speaker engagements on campuses nationwide, multiple regional marketing conferences, the MADE Internship Program, the Visiting Professor Program, an annual fundraising gala and educational content on www.aef.com. Our programs help advance the understanding of marketing and advertising on campus and provides a forum for exchanging ideas and valuable networking opportunities between top talent and leading industry organizations.

Position Summary

Reporting to the SVP, Education and Content, the Manager’s main responsibility is to assist with the AEF’s educational programs and digital content, including our website, email newsletter, social media and Conferences on Campus. The ideal candidate should be familiar with the advertising and marketing industry. This position will maintain and enhance our WordPress site; create and design bespoke social images and captions to promote our programs on social media; manage the logistics and tech for virtual events; able to identify speakers for campus events; and build solid working relationships with academic and industry partners.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance the website by collaborating and strategizing with various departments
  • Create custom images and captions for social media, assist with posts and curation of content across all AEF social media accounts with an eye towards increasing engagement
  • Write and design email newsletters to various AEF constituencies
  • Setup and manage the Zoom account for all AEF virtual events
  • Assist with identifying potential conference speakers and logistics
  • Work closely with internal team members on all aspects of distribution, content, and strategies
  • Provide communications support to our stakeholders to help each AEF program achieve its engagement objectives
  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand their work and develop written website content that clearly and effectively communicates these efforts to stakeholders

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution plus 2-4 years’ prior work experience at an advertising agency, marketer and/or media company
  • At least 1 year of experience managing an external-facing website and/or social media account on a professional level
  • Technologically savvy, particularly with WordPress, Google Analytics, Google AdWords, MailChimp, and social media. 
  • Experience managing virtual events using the Zoom platform.

  • Experienced relationship builder with excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Attention to detail while handling multiple, deadline-driven priorities
  • Superior critical thinking skills with the ability to execute innovative solutions and improve processes
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Focused on delivering accurate and high-quality content
  • Experience in designing social media images using Canva platform and creating compelling captions is a plus
  • A collaborative spirit working with both internal and external partners
  • An understanding of the academic ecosystem

Salary and Total Rewards Package:

Starting pay range: $60,000 to $65,000, based on relevant experience and qualifications.

Position Overview

 ANA is looking for a Director, Social Media and Communications Strategy with a passion for marketing and a vision to help move the brand ahead. Candidates should have expertise in 2 key areas:

  • Social Media: The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of social media marketing and how to drive to leadership and industry disruption across social media platforms with a forward-thinking mindset and creativity and member insights at the forefront of everything they do.
  • Content Strategy: This person will play a pivotal role in ensuring integration across site, Social, Email and Media. They will act as a highly cross-functional team player and will lead the effort to support business priorities by delivering innovative creative content against key strategic initiatives across owned, earned, and paid channels.

Responsibilities

 

Social Media Leadership

  • Develop a coordinated, enterprise-wide social media strategy
  • Brainstorm and develop innovative social media strategies that align with the ANA’s brand identity and marketing objectives
  • Create and maintain social media content calendars for various platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, and YouTube
  • Develop and manage paid social media campaigns, including audience targeting, ad creation, and budget allocation
  • Analyze social media campaign performance and generate actionable insights that inform future strategies and optimizations
  • Stay up to date on the latest social media trends, algorithm changes, and emerging technologies to keep our members ahead of the curve
  • Manage monthly and quarterly social reporting processes to create actionable insights; integrate social data into broader digital marketing briefs to ensure data-driven content decisions.
  • Design repeatable, marketable frameworks and solutions for:
  • Delivering data-driven insights to inform content, production, and distribution.
  • Building best-in-class, fit for the platform/channel integrations and executions.

 

Communications Strategy Leadership

  • Develop the content strategy for original content that supports brand and marketing objectives across paid, organic, web, PR and email
  • Develop editorial content for the site as a go-to destination and driver of SEO.
  • Collaborate and consolidate all content requirements for channels.
  • Unify data, technology, media, and strategy to redefine how we create, optimize, and distribute content and experiences.

 

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience managing social media for a large brand, agency or publisher
  • Proven track record of creating and executing successful social media campaigns that capture the audience’s attention and hit key social KPIs
  • In-depth understanding of social media analytics and reporting tools
  • Excellent editorial/creative judgement, writing skills and the ability to capture ANA’s voice to reach both prospective and existing members.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with limited resources and simultaneous responsibility for multiple projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in best practices and engagement with major social media platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok.
  • Strong knowledge of paid social media and paid search best practices.
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Passionate about and keeps up with latest social media, pop culture and tech trends.
  • B2B marketing experience and/or content development for a business audience.

 

Salary and Total Rewards Package:

Starting pay range: $100,000 to $110,000, based on relevant experience and qualifications.

Reporting to the EVP, this role will work closely with marketers to innovate, educate, and activate solutions. You will regularly interact with your members and drive growth for them by leveraging their membership resources, tools, and connections.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as the primary representative of ANA with the leaders/influencers of an assigned group of members. Become a trusted advisor to solidify the member relationship
  • Provide best-in-class client service and partnership across all facets of your members’ marketing organization
  • Communicate with passion and purpose. Understand and persuasively convey how ANA drives growth
  • Deeply understand your member’s core marketing issues – know what keeps them up at night
  • Recognizes ANA’s goals, mission, and vision, as well as the actions required to achieve them
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic and tactical plans
  • Prepare regular assessments of the health and vitality of your territory
  • Collaborate with a range of key internal stakeholders to keep abreast of ANA services and leadership initiatives
  • Demonstrate exceptional understanding of business fundamentals
  • Travel may be required

 

Professional Experience and Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree a minimum; master’s degree a plus
  • Account management or client-side marketing experience (minimum 6-8 years)
  • Excellent relationship and rapport building skills.
  • You must have exceptional communication skills, a strong ability to identify actionable insights and provide top-notch client service and partnership.
  • A bias toward action, the ability to take initiative, and the flexibility to pivot approach in the face of fast-changing business conditions
