Are you a creative social media and digital strategist? Do you enjoy working on a diverse portfolio while engaging and educating Ontarians using innovative social media tools and techniques? If so, Communications and Marketing Branch is seeking a creative communication professional to lead and coordinate communications planning, production, editorial/content development and creative services for the Branch with a focus on social and digital media.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Determining content of digital communication plans and strategies; schedules for creative services projects and initiatives; and the appropriate method, tone and approach for digital media projects and initiatives.
  • Acting as the ministry’s resident expert on digital media content and strategies.
  • Promoting effective content that will clearly convey ministry position, services, initiative and programs to stakeholders and the public.
  • Writing, producing, editing, reviewing and coordinating digital media content (organic and marketing/paid content).
  • Reviewing and editing materials prepared by others, determining what information to include/exclude in digital media content.
  • Developing the ministry’s social media brand and presence, and ensuring all digital content on ministry social media accounts meets Ontario Public Service standards and guidelines.

Digital media & communications knowledge

  • You know communications principles, video production practices and techniques.
  • You can develop the digital media component of communications and marketing strategies.
  • You are proficient with a variety of digital media platforms, tools and trends, and can provide strategic advice regarding the most effective use of social media.
  • You know the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
  • You know how to leverage data analytics and insights to support ongoing and future communications and marketing strategies.


Prioritization & analytical skills

  • You can identify, assess and prioritize ministry communications objectives and requirements to develop and advise on the digital media component of communications strategies.
  • You can prioritize program initiatives and negotiate project deadlines to deliver within established timeframes.
  • You can analyze ministry content, develop reports and provide analysis and reports to management.


Project management & research skills

  • You can research, plan, develop and manage creative services and social media strategies.
  • You can demonstrate political acuity while establishing priorities, identifying opportunities and tracking digital media discussions regarding the ministry’s interests.


Communications & interpersonal skills

  • You have oral, written and consultation skills to provide information to senior ministry officials and colleagues.
  • You have strong relationship management skills to work collaboratively with staff in other divisions and ministries.
  • You can consult and advise on complex issues; present solutions, recommendations and alternatives; and interact effectively with various levels of staff and management.

The Executive Producer is responsible for acquiring commercial projects as well as overseeing the workflow of the projects through the facility. They take a lead role in developing existing client relationships and actively exploring new business opportunities, ensuring they are consistently meeting annual sales objectives. They manage and mentor our commercial producers, possess strong networking and leadership skills and have a knack for creative problem solving. A passion for sales is a must! 

Responsibilities:

  • Nurture and maintain current client relationships while continually exploring new opportunities
  • Develop an annual sales strategy 
  • Update accounting regularly on status of invoicing and payments 
  • Work closely with the Head of Post Production to ensure workflow in the facility is following the established sequence and is on track to meet forecasted delivery dates
  • Ensure all quotes are accurate, fair and error free prior to submission to clients
  • Act as a liaison with the client throughout the life of the project, communicating any modifications to the project team on a timely basis, proactively communicating any potential overages and promoting ongoing relationships
  • Work with internal office team (client services) to communicate expectations are met for all in person client sessions
  • Provide relevant content and updates for company social media channels as well as granting approvals on content when necessary
  • Provide training, feedback and guidance to producers ensuring continued growth and development of the team
  • Foster the development of creative talent within the commercial department internally ensuring that they are feeling supported and fulfilled. Also maintaining an eye externally of any up and coming artists that may be a good fit for our studio either on staff or freelance. 

Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of post-production workflows
  • Previous sales experience 
  • Strong negotiation skills and a sales driven mindset
  • Ability to handle a fast paced environment supervising multiple projects in various points of production (from development through delivery)
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Must have exceptional people skills and communication skills (both written and verbal), as well as active listening skills
  • Technical proficiency in Mac Operating systems and MS Office (specifically Excel)

Job Description

As an Associate Producer at Ubi Quebec, you’ll drive the development of a specific part of a game. Depending on the project’s larger production strategy and organizational structure, your part could be a component like animation, level design, gameplay, world, or a combination of a few.

All in all, you’ll guide one or many multidisciplinary teams to bring your assigned portion to life from start to end. You’ll pair well-designed work processes with clear expectations for your team members to do their best work and optimize their talents.

Through careful planning, follow-through, and oversight, you’ll keep development on pace, ensuring that time is spent on the right things, and pivot when need be. You will be keen to ensure that everything that goes into the game brings value and you will challenge your teams to get there.
