Job Description:

Oversees marketing initiatives across the complete product portfolio. Supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of brand plans and associated business processes. A highly cross-functional role, requiring excellent collaboration across all departments and the ability to manage resources. Position demands strong project management and communication skills as well as a passion for consumer insights and innovative thinking to ensure products are developed, messaging is crafted, and marketing is planned to effectively push brand forward.

OBJECTIVES OF ROLE:

Achieve annual sales targets across all product lines

Manage matrix team to develop and execute brand plans and associated business processes across all departments

Partner with, inspire, and brief creative team to develop compelling messaging

Design and implement marketing plans to engage our target consumers across touchpoints: direct mail, email, social, website, search, etc

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains close collaboration with all department leaders and their teams to ensure brand message is consistently delivered to guests, agents and suppliers and that plan buy-in and delivery is achieved

Partners with customer acquisition team on email marketing campaigns through Salesforce Marketing Cloud, direct mail, and various other digital tactics

Conducts on-going business analysis on selected issues/opportunities; accountable for understanding of channel analysis, yield/inventory management, prioritized areas for focused analysis to translate into action

Coordinates marketing plans to support effective product launches (NPD) across departments

Measures and evaluates marketing activities to determine ROI and effectiveness of activity; identify key issues impacting brand volume performance and recommend potential solutions

Monitors industry trends and competitor portfolios to help define specific differentiators on product positioning

Supports marketing research as needed (both 3rd party and proprietary); identify and apply key consumer insights to support business opportunities

A lead sales advocate and presenter for business/brand, both internally and externally

Supports customer journey planning and communications intended to build pre-tour excitement, enhance the on-tour experience, increase loyalty and drive conversion

In addition to brand plans, coordinates and executes special projects as needed

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years in brand management or similar marketing roles

Strong sense of team

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver results within a matrixed organization

Strong analytical skills and operational comprehension

Demonstrated ability to show positive attitude under pressure and deliver results

Naturally curious, self-starter, storyteller

MBA strongly preferred

Requirements:

Position Overview

The Product Development Senior Manager will be responsible for managing and executing the day-to-day product development process for the fragrance category. This includes fine fragrance, as well as ancillaries of all kinds. This person will be the primary liaison with fragrance houses and CMs to ensure that concepts are communicated clearly and executed according to company guidelines and ethos. This position will report into the Senior Director of Product.

6 Month Expectations

  • Lead the development for all fragrance projects
  • Pick up and oversee the development for 2024 and 2025 launches
  • Review all fragrance submissions, providing olfactive informed and brand-right redirects, in close partnership with the Senior Director of Product
  • Research and continue to develop expertise of the category and competitive landscape
  • Initiate, write, and present cohesive and complete product briefs both internally and externally and partner with external vendors to execute against the product concept
  • Responsible for internal communication with cross-functional partners as it relates to product Briefs, mod developments, fragrance positioning, copy and claims, and other deliverables
  • Partner closely with PD, Packaging, Design, and Product Marketing to create a holistic product experience that engages our new and repeat consumers
  • Manage critical dates and influence cross-functionally to maintain timelines for launches, managing risks and understanding tradeoffs along the development process while delivering products with the highest standards for quality and performance
  • Monitor and maintain on-time delivery of critical project milestones
  • Support training for marketing, sales, retail and customer support, including formula dossiers, usage instructions, Q&A’s, etc. to ensure success of product in market
  • Build and maintain external vendor relationships

12+ Month Expectations

  • Become an in-house fragrance expert
  • Partner with key stakeholders on the fragrance category strategy for 2025 and 2026, following with product concepts that execute on that strategy, defining how they fit within the company portfolio, point of difference on the market, and bringing innovation to the forefront of the concept
  • Support international expansion activities, including evaluation / reforms for compliance, locally relevant claims, and registration
  • Work with fragrance houses, raw material suppliers, CMs, community and other partners on an ongoing basis to identify innovation and opportunities to build new iconic/hero products

Qualifications

  • 7+ years relevant work experience in fragrance product development
  • Olfactively educated
  • Experience building strong relationships with fragrance houses and olfactive experts
  • Ability present to small and large groups comfortably, including management and c-suite executives
  • Passionate about the fragrance, wellness and beauty industries
  • Ability to manage multiple projects through strong prioritization and planning
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environment

Our client, a popular beauty brand and cosmetic retail chain, is actively searching for a Senior Marketing Manager to join their San Francisco Team. In this role the you will join a high-performance Marketing ream to drive and deliver business goals and objectives. You will work closely with key partners in Marketing, Merchandising, Promo/Loyalty, Campaigns & Content.

*Please note this is 6-month temp role – $48/hr*

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for driving and achieving sales targets for marketing channels
  • Set the direction for growth opportunities and areas of strategic local focus
  • Forecast, prepare and manage Retention Marketing financial objectives as well as budgets
  • Build relationships with key cross-functional partners
  • Partner with Marketing Effectiveness / analytics teams to uncover Canada -unique insights to drive channel performance
  • Oversee email and mobile messaging calendar strategy & planning to ensure team delivers and timely deployment of those campaigns
  • Manage team of 3 direct reports with a focus on coaching, developing & retaining high performing talent
  • Support efficient processes and operations across Canada local and North American leverage ways of working, identifying and implementing process opportunities

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience, strong retention marketing background
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional ability to work in a cross-functional environment
  • Excellent knowledge of current retention marketing landscape and industry trends
  • Proven ability to take initiative, stay flexible, and excel in fast-paced, high-volume and deadline-driven environment
  • Well-organized, extremely detailed, project and results oriented
  • Email and mobile marketing experience
  • Consumer goods and retail experience preferred
