One of our leading Entertainment Clients is looking for an Assistant Video Producer who loves film. This contract role will last a year and begin remotely until the office’s opening in Los Angeles.
Assistant Video Producer Responsibilities
- Quality control all files before going out to partners
- In-depth knowledge, and passion for, video creative through all stages of a piece’s life cycle
- Project management
- Manage delivery schedules of final assets
- Keep track of important dates and milestones
- Start of productions, access to cuts (to get started on clips)
- Shoot concepts / divided by talent
- SOW’s / MSA’s when setting up vendors
- Attention to technical detail
- Clips – a knack for identifying key moments in a given show or episode with an understanding for how they can be used (online debuts, broadcast interviews (daytime vs. late night), etc)

USA TODAY, is looking for a creative Video Producer to join the Video Production Center (VPC) to create digital news content.
The Video Producer will create, produce and edit video on demand, live video streams and article content for the USA TODAY Network websites and social media platforms. The Video Producer may produce breaking news, trending news or series video content. Their duties will include generating story ideas, producing news videos, writing scripts, finding videos from third party partners, programming videos, assigning others to cover stories and coordinating news coverage with the USA TODAY Network.
The Video Producer should be a motivated, self-starter who can multi-task and communicate effectively with Senior-level management, clients at newsrooms across the country and other VPC team members.
You must be a talented writer and storyteller, comfortable producing news video and supporting articles for desktop, mobile and social media. The Video Producer will be responsible for managing news video packages from start to finish, including writing, video editing and social media optimization.
They also will be responsible for providing live video streams for the USA TODAY NETWORK. The video producer is responsible for supervising, assigning and managing the daily work of both Video Editors and Associate Video Producers as well as overseeing the product. They will ensure that all content is technically and editorially sound.
The Video Producers will review headlines, descriptions, scripts, social posts, blogs and other text produced by the VPC team for factual accuracy, sourcing, balance, libel, tone, errors in grammar/spelling/style. They will ensure that content is up to date and accurate and editorially sound.
We are open to candidates in Atlanta or Washington, DC.
Responsibilities:
- Make assignments, supervise and provide feedback on daily work of team members, participate in performance reviews.
- Coordinate live and on demand video coverage with National Desk Managers and leadership of the USA TODAY NETWORK.
- Determine daily live and on demand news video coverage to be sure VPC is producing and distributing best content across USA TODAY NETWORK properties, make editorial decisions, manage rights on video content, and be able to create content for a social audience in mind.
- Supervise and produce live video coverage of breaking news event. Generate story ideas, assign and supervise production of video content.
- Flexible and able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, journalism or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years+ experience which must include newsroom experience.
- Must have experience with video production and producing video for digital platforms.
- Must have experience working for a news organization.
- Is confident navigating social media, including writing, scheduling and optimizing posts and able to create video for different platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter, who can work without direction.
- Experience with Adobe Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects.
- Employment is contingent on passing a post-offer pre-employment background check.

SCAD Atlanta seeks an extraordinary photography/videography producer to oversee creative projects from conception to completion, while working meticulously with relevant stakeholders, including project managers, photographers, videographers and video editors, stylists, faculty, staff, students, and more.
In this full-time position, your primary responsibility will be the research, scheduling, coordination, and production for all elements of photo and video shoots for print, social, PR, marketing, and beyond. Working under the senior director of visual media, you will establish and pursue an engaging visual aesthetic and brand identity across all of SCAD’s institutional photography and videography. You will build strong working relationships with assigned schools and various departments within the university and coordinate with relevant university resources to prepare locations for photo and video shoots from setup to breakdown.
As a photography/videography producer, you will supervise the progress of each initiative from ideation to post-production and delivery. You will cast, lead, commission, and coordinate the creative and practical talent involved in each project from models to vendors needed for re-touching, makeup, and hair. You will help guide necessary legal and payment paperwork, from media releases to invoices, permits, and more. Among other duties, you will also research, scout, and assess ideas for photo and video requests; serve as the onsite producer for assigned live events; organize shooting schedules; and be available to assist other producers and photographers as needed.
The successful candidate experiences the world through a highly creative visual lens and thrives in social situations. The candidate should be personable and able to use enthusiasm to create an atmosphere that allows high-profile visiting artists, shy students, and busy staff/faculty members alike to feel comfortable and open. A strong attention to detail and deadlines is essential, as is a knack for problem-solving. The candidate should be active in the photography scene, including media organizations and award submissions. Staying current on creative and technical skills is vital. A background in photography styling, public relations, and marketing is a bonus.
