What we’re looking for: Spectrum News is launching a new national news product which will stream 24×7 on a new OTT platform. Spectrum News is in search of a Producer who will create newscasts as part of a national editorial team. Our national news puts impactful, not sensational, stories and information into context to demonstrate to viewers how their lives are connected to domestic and world events.

The Talent Producer is responsible for working directly with national news anchor, Executive Producers and Associate Producers in the production of live and recorded national newscasts.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Works directly with national news anchor
  • Produces live and taped segments, prepare research notes, pitch stories and other special projects
  • Writes news stories for an assigned show and/or newscast, ensuring content is factually correct and written in a clear and concise conversational style
  • Conducts interviews with both high profile guests and those not accustomed to being on TV
  • Collaborates with show production teams to prepare and facilitate production of newscasts
  • Coordinates logistics with all National Content Group and Spectrum stations
  • Generates story and coverage ideas on a daily and long-term basis
  • Follows through on all assignments meeting required deadlines according to the Executive Producer’s instructions.
  • Works in computerized newsroom environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an eager content producer to help us create best in class moments for our customers to experience the VBB brand around the world. We need your help to produce studio shoots, collaborate with global creative partners, negotiate talent contracts and manage usage rights.

An ideal candidate has strong existing relationships with talent partners. They should be proactive, creative and capable of thinking through challenges and presenting thoughtful solutions. We’re looking for someone with a roll-up-your sleeves attitude, who is both strategic & delivery-oriented, to oversee multiple projects simultaneously from concept to execution.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the end to end production of all creative output.

• Work closely with both internal and external creatives ensuring they are briefed in good time, clear on the brief & deliverables, and that assets are delivered on schedule.

• Work with the Marketing team to create and own the brand shoot calendar.

• Work cross functionally with the wider team with regards to having an oversight on creative

briefs, updating the team on project progress, relevant sign-offs and final delivery to all

relevant stakeholders.

• Liaise with the Product Development team with regards to new product availability for

shoots.

• Attend project kick offs and define briefs with stakeholders; agree objectives, direction,

design specifications, timelines & budget.

 • Liaise with the VB fashion team with regards to shoot/event dates & product availability for crossover projects.

• Production of all shoots both independently and working with production partners.

  • Book and option shoot teams and manage all shoot admin.
  • Present team options to the Creative Director.
  • Casting both independently & with a casting director and have a clear understanding of who the VB Beauty model is.

The Role

The TripleLift CTV Creative Writer/Producer brings a superior creative eye and experience to our group, delivering superb creative in the form of writing, video production, animation, visual design, and more for our new Advanced Advertising division. For JUSTIFIED for Day 2, THURSDAY, May 5th, we need ND background talent AND a few CAR DRIVERS. No white or bright colored cars. Please indicate if you would prefer working with OR without your car. This is our big day for the first and second episodes. A few will be booked as VENDORS selling goods out of the trunk of your car. If you are submitting for this extra role and can have a clean trunk they can dress to supply your goods which they will provide, please indicate that in your email.
These scenes will film in Chicago. As usual, parking is always paid.

Rate of Pay:$120 for up to 8 hours, plus time and one half overtime, Plus $50 for coming in for mandatory COVID TEST at Chicago Studio City about 48 hours prior.

CalMatters is looking for a motivated student or early-career photojournalist with a unique eye and strong storytelling skills who is interested in shooting photos for CalMatters. You’ll cover photography assignments, share in editing responsibilities, receive regular critiques from the photo editors and collaborate with reporters and editors across the newsroom.

This is a great opportunity for photojournalists interested in political journalism and statewide issues like healthcare, education, environment and housing in California. An assignment may take you from the state Capitol, to a drought-stricken farm, or to a political protest. The position will require regular travel for assignments. Preference will be given to applicants based in the Sacramento area and Southern California.

Duties

  • Take on photo assignments covering statewide issues including portraits, press conferences, demonstrations and environmental scenes
  • Contribute to and expand our photo archive
  • Pitch and produce one or two visual stories over the course of the internship
  • Learn about the photo editing and image sourcing process

Helpful to have

  • Previous internship or student journalism experience
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Photo Mechanic or other photo editing software
  • Knowledge of Premiere and/or Illustrator
  • Videography and video editing skills
