The Gray National Investigative Team is expanding! We’re looking for an Executive Producer to help manage our award winning team of journalists with a primary focus on growing our digital footprint. While the job will be based out of our television station in New Orleans, we will consider the right candidate who wants to work remotely.

We are looking for a candidate who can:

  • Manage our OTT platform InvestigateTV by developing and implementing strategies to grow our audience and revenue. Serve as liaison with technical and sales operations to identify ways to enhance and develop sustainable business model.
  • Help oversee our weekly 30-minute show that airs on all Gray Television stations.
  • Oversee and manage all consumer content produced by our team that’s distributed to our 102 local television stations.
  • Help manage and communicate with our partners and local stations.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field. Must have management experience. Willingness to work non-traditional business days/hours and travel for work. Pre-employment drug screen required.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for producing daily carrier paperwork at the DC’s and facilitates the distribution to contractors
Coordinates the flow of product (newspapers and newspaper inserts) throughout the distribution center with a primary emphasis on quality control
Quality Control includes identifying, accounting and exchanging damaged or spoiled products with clean, unwrinkled and readable products
Accurately places and verifies quantity of product in correct staging locations (Carts, carrier stations, or other designated locations)
Responsible for distributing Advanced Product at carrier stations prior to delivery time.
Troubleshoots open delivery areas and communicates with District Managers.
Produces Computer generated Route Lists for carriers that request them ahead of distribution.
Experience, and Knowledge Requirements:
Considerable knowledge of forklifts and power jacks and their operation.
Good knowledge of product identification.

Skill Requirements:

WDSU, the Hearst Television NBC affiliate in New Orleans, is looking for an Executive Producer who can oversee fast-paced newscasts in an even faster –paced news market. We need a driven, organized leader who can articulate a vision for their shows and lead a team towards the vision. The right candidate will be a leader who can develop multi-platform content that succeeds on air, on mobile, and on social media. Responsibilities include the ability to manage, coach, and motivate a team of producers, reporters, anchors, and photojournalists who are committed to excellence. The Executive Producer is responsible for the overall content of assigned newscasts, manages all aspects of breaking news, and social engagement. The right candidate must be a pro when it comes to effective communication and decision making under daily deadline pressure. You must have proven ability in making decisions based on strong ethics, a solid producing background, and a desire to win. You must be able to research, pitch, and gather enterprise news stories, as well. The Executive Producer will work on recruiting producers and work closely with the News Director to implement winning strategies for each newscast. The ideal candidate can handle Breaking News when it comes and, when it doesn’t, can still oversee a compelling product that delivers interesting and relevant content to our viewers. Overseeing the product is only one facet of the job. You must also be a coach and a leader with the communications skills to make those you supervise better.
