Shooting Location: HOUSTON, TEXAS 

Date: Tuesday, November 16th 

Rate: $120/12 hrs guaranteed plus time and a half after  + $30 gas stipend if traveling outside Houston 60 mi radius.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities include writing stories and teases, editing video, and creating graphics and supers for newscasts, FOX4news.com, social channels and associated news partners. The position works closely with Producers to help develop and format newscasts and communicates continuously with Reporters, Photographers, the Assignment Desk, Managers and other applicable employees or outside sources regarding story developments and changes. Must possess the ability to write stories and post video for social media platforms in coordination with Producers and Managers. Must facilitate communication during newscasts regarding live shots and story development. Associate Producers must have the ability to overcome anticipated and unexpected changes when putting together newscasts.

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field required. Two (2) to three (3) years’ experience as a TV Newscast Associate Producer in a small to medium to major television market required. Ideal candidate must be able to work under tight deadlines and have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Strong writing skills required. Strong knowledge of legal and ethical parameters for mass media is essential. Strong working knowledge of the technical aspects of television news production required, including digital and web-based newsgathering tools. Ideal candidate must be able to use newsroom video and computer systems, editing, and graphics programs.

This project is a narrative episodic, released once a week, that tells the story of an underground conspiracy and people who go missing. 

Each episode becomes increasingly dark and mysterious. The ending will be written upon comments from the previous video. 

For this one day shoot we are looking for a female character aged between 35-50. She should have good dress attire and can improve. 

Although this project is unpaid, expect to have loads of fun with character development and having a say in your lines and how you present your character. You will become a subject matter specialist for a particular topic and should expect to improve lines for the topic you’re given. The topic will be a subject in unsolved mysteries. 

 You will be provided healthy snacks and beverages for your time! This is for a confidential video project.

BlackHouse is looking for a freelance Show Producer for an in person event in Houston, TX (zip code: 77010). The program will include four days of leadership meetings, general sessions, business networking events and specialty workshops with approximately 600 attendees. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for live events and has past experience in a fast paced live production environment. The Show Producer is responsible for the continuity and integrity of show flow and scripting documentation across a multi day event from pre-production planning, on-site management and post-event reporting.

Professional Qualifications

  • All BH crew and staff working onsite at the production must be vaccinated against Covid-19 and can provide proof of vaccination (physical documentation or digital copy) along with valid corresponding  ID
  • Project management utilizing agency’s chosen software for client projects and internal operations.
  • Strong organization and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • 4-5 years experience in film, tv, theatrical production environment
  • Ability to keep a professional demeanor in high-stress situations and maintain a proactive approach to overall project management.
  • Extensive experience in maintaining positive relationships with technical production vendors and deep knowledge of market fair pricing on equipment and labor positions. 
  • Ability to generate paperwork related to production (production schedules/stage layouts/venue floor plans)
  • Strong negotiation and reasoning skills. 
  • Patience and professional demeanor
  • Operating common office equipment (printer, scanner, copier)
  • Proficiency in Google suite (Gmail, Google Drive/Docs)
  • Experience with Asana or comparable project management tools a plus  
  • Familiarity with both Mac/PC

KRGV-TV, the ABC affiliate in the beautiful Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, is currently seeking: FULL-TIME Associate News Producer.

We are looking for a motivated individual with a passion for news to assist the Producer with writing, editing of scripts, building graphics, ensuring successful execution of live shots; the ability to work well under pressure and deadlines; will perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Duties:

    • Candidate must have excellent AP style writing skills and work ethic.
    • Cover all aspects of the broadcast: news writing, editorial judgment, guest booking and coordination of live shots as well as run teleprompter and may perform other reasonable related duties as assigned.
    • Knowledge of graphic design is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure: Production jobs have deadlines, an Associate Producer needs to be able to meet the deadline even under pressure.
  • Conflict management: During production work, some conflict will arise, the Associate Producer needs to be able to manage the conflict and provide effective solutions to the issues.
  • Leadership skills: Individual must be able to work with little supervision and self-initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills: Must be able to communicate well with team members to ensure successful broadcast.
  • Flexibility: The working schedule of an Associate Producer is not standard. In fact, the working hours are quite irregular and may often involve weekends or evenings depending on the production. As this job is time-sensitive it may also require extra hours, so flexibility is necessary for this position.

Requirements

    • Must have had two years of college courses in communication or related field.
    • Candidate must be reliable and have good people skills as well as work any shift…including nights, weekends or overnight.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
    • This position will assist the News Producer.

Art Director, Photography

The Art Director will work with the Creative Sr. Art Director, Copy Manager/writers and Project Manager to ensure seasonal direction, established color palettes, consistency in art direction, design and branding, as well as create a cohesive relationship between visual and written creative concepts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create compelling design for print and digital assets, social media and special projects that achieves the Company’s priorities of promoting immediate sales, achieving fashion and brand image goals, and appealing to customers through compelling visual storytelling
  • Directs a variety of photo shoots (fashion, home, jewelry, on-figure and still life)
  • Handles multiple projects in various states of production

Core Competencies & Accomplishments:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design or Advertising preferred.
  • 3-5 years of photo art direction, design, graphic arts, and production in retail fashion preferred.
  • Significant experience in digital and current social media with proven graphic skills. Print experience a plus.
  • Keen eye for photography, cropping and composition
  • Strong typography skills with close attention to details such as kerning and leading.
  • Excellent knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles; video and gif animation a plus.
