Job Description
Our global Visual Effects team combines talent with technology, artistry with rigor, the familiar with the fantastic. Our work can be inspiring or invisible, but always unforgettable. From the language of colour to the hand drawn and photo-real, we bring ideas to life through the use of movement, storytelling and timing.
The role of an Associate Producer is to assist with the facilitation of complex visual effects advertising commercial projects through The Mill, starting at the storyboard stage through to the final delivery on diverse media.
In order to deliver the standard of work The Mill has become renowned for, an Associate Producer must have excellent knowledge of current technology and techniques, an in-depth knowledge of the working pipe-line of The Mill, superb communication, team work and organizational skills, a creative eye and an innate understanding of our clients’ requirements and the post-production industry as a whole.
The Associate Producer must also work in conjunction with Producers in the day to day running of current jobs and projects. This person will be involved in bringing efficiencies for producers running current jobs ranging from internal systems and processes to client communication, interaction and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Attend client meetings at the storyboard stage to advise on current post-production techniques, procedures and plan timings
- Involved in the planning and quoting for all elements of the job i.e. shoot attend, Telecine, 2D, complex 3D requirements i.e. Modeling, texturing lighting of CG creations and character animation, MCR, dubbing and delivery costs in conjunction with Beam, and ensuring the smooth running of the job through the building
- Ability to confidently and effectively act as a liaison between client and Producer
- Possess an acute sense for visual aesthetics and ideas and the ability to manage people and resources effectively
- Assist producer with postings, layoffs, interfacing with client and client needs and quality control
- Prepare shot lists
- Compile reference material and pitch content
- Keep the Mill’s history archive and internal show reels up to date
- Maintain client data base
- Assist Producers and the scheduling department with any specific job related issues
- Compile credit list and PR details at job wrap
- Wrangle meetings, sales calls and catalogued minutes of all Production meetings
- Efficient response time to client queries and requests
- Increase communication and productivity within the Production department
- Good working knowledge and relationships with other Mill offices
- Work towards role of Producer by shadowing on when possible

ROOF Studio is a multi-award-winning boutique animation studio in Brooklyn, NY, and Sao Paulo, Brazil. Our work is highly detailed, vibrant, and, as you can see, very passionate. We were the most-awarded animation company of 2021.
This year, we hoped to find an experienced professional to join us. We are looking to meet Executive Producers working in Advertisement, following the skillset listed below:
Extensive experience bidding on animation scripts, from 2D to 3D productions. Must have experience bidding small to large budget projects. A deep understanding of the 3D animation processes is required.
The ability to keep track of the production calendar and within budget. Will be communicating directly with and overseeing our head of production in Brazil.
Confidence in being the face of the production side of the company with all of our clients. Always reflect the company’s ethos of friendliness while managing difficult conversations.
Ensure we achieve our financial goals for projects, track invoicing to clients, and sometimes chase late payments. Negotiate overages when necessary.
Problem-solving: work methodically and logically, finding creative solutions, especially when things don’t go according to plan.
Have experience in Sales. This person needs to be able to handle new business requests and evaluate new client contacts and also be able to help strategize new opportunities to expand ROOF brand. Overseeing the relationship with our reps and sales partners. Demonstrating great leadership and creative flair, enabling us to pull off that brilliant pitch when needed.
Our ideal candidate is an experienced and opinionated professional with a great sense of strategy who will attend partner meetings and help to find ways to expand the brand through social media, PR, Awards, event opportunities, or any other way. Role: Associate Producer
Location: Remote – Pawtucket, RI
Duration: 12-month contract
Job Description:
· The Associate Producer will be responsible for working directly with the Production team to coordinate all aspects of Product and Lifestyle Photography projects, executed both in-house and at external studio locations.
· They will partner with Brand, Package Design and Marketing teams to deliver high-quality visual assets in a deadline driven and cost-effective manner. This includes hiring all vendors and crew, scheduling Photographers and studio space, coordinating samples, managing files through editing and final delivery.
Required skills:
· Serve as primary liaison between the Photo Studio and internal clients.
· Facilitate clear, constructive, and on-going communication with the Production team regarding project status and asset delivery.
· On a weekly basis, partner with the Finance Coordinator to track costs associated with completed photo shoots.
· Correspond with internal clients relative to production needs.
· Partner with the Model Studios team to coordinate and transport samples for photo shoots.
Schedule projects, based on priority.
· Confirm that proper documents are in place for all talent and crew.
· Execute photography projects, including being on-set to ensure efficiency, timing and budget.
· Trouble-shoot and resolve issues relating to physical production through final file delivery.
· Route image files through the editing process, including communicating specific instructions.
· Route files through internal approvals and manage final upload of assets for delivery.
· Maintain archiving files and communication with the Digital Asset Management team.
· Track the status of projects within the workflow to ensure final delivery within deadline.
Desired Skills:
· Successful at organizing large, involved events/productions.
· Working knowledge of both PC and Mac operating systems.
· Experience working with image files in Photoshop.
· Success in managing a large volume of assets through post-production.
· Proficient working knowledge of MS Office file formats.
· Significant experience and success in managing a variety of projects.
· Demonstrates an advance aptitude in design, layout and composition as it applies to photography.
· Working knowledge of Capture One is a plus.
· Desired Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Production experience, in digital studio photography a plus.
