Our client, an in-house agency at a major cable provider, is seeking a talented, hands-on Creative Director to lead a growing in-house design and art direction team focused on crafting campaigns that drive retail goals across all touch-points. In this role, you will lead the creative direction process from conception through design and production to delivery of content, digital product, brand initiatives and creative assets. You will provide direction for a number of projects simultaneously, in collaboration with the Creative team. You are a supportive creative leader for the creative team under your direction while making sure they know and understand the expectations of the work. You will help shape and optimize the creative output based on changes in the industry, the changing needs of the business, and the larger objectives of the company. This is an ongoing freelance position that operates on a hybrid schedule out of their New York City or Philadelphia offices. Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years relevant experience in an agency or in-house agency environment on the brand side

  • Solid business sense and experience in balancing creative vision with business priorities / objectives
  • You are someone with an impressive portfolio that demonstrates a high standard and quality of work, delivering on consistency in brand look, feel, and experience

Job Description

An Executive Producer is responsible for the overall editorial content on all platforms produced by KBLR

Job Duties

  • Conceive and execute daily programs incorporating top news stories responsible for on-air look and program format
  • Develop future segments, special event coverage, sweeps planning, incorporating evening anchor talent
  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing on topical and special promotion
  • Work with Arthouse on graphic production and art direction
  • Oversee the Platform Managers and Content Producers
  • Collaborate with other newsroom managers for special events planning as well as day-to-day coverage
  • Work with all facets of the organization, including production, IT and engineering to ensure the most accurate and compelling local coverage
  • Responsible for managing the production of news specials, entertainment shows and other productions outside of the regularly scheduled newscasts.
  • Performs as Line Producer and other related duties as assigned by News Director.
  • Contribute to and develop content for digital platforms.
  • Schedule nightside content producers to ensure proper coverage
  • Collaborate with Digital Lead to develop content and promotion strategies on all platforms
  • Hire quality talent when needed, as well as coaching and mentoring current employees
  • Work with Digital Lead to manage KBLR efforts. Manage playlist like a newscast rundown to maximize opportunity for engagement.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in newsroom management
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in newsgathering and/or production
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience writing, producing and desktop editing

The role will be 40 hours a week for 3 months with a chance to convert to full time employee. The role is hybrid with onsite requirements 2-3x per month.

The Video Art Director will be responsible for:

  • Connecting ideas, design principles and content to create an actionable video storyboards
  • Conceptualizing and visually developing ideas from rough thumbnails to polished final deliverables
