We Were Liars Season 2 is casting a large group of background performers for an extravagant present-day gala scene filming in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Production is seeking adults to portray wealthy and influential gala guests, along with high-end event staff. These are continuity roles, and selected performers must be available for both filming days. New faces and present-day background performers are welcome to apply.

Job Responsibilities

• Portray an upscale gala guest or professional event staff member.
• Participate in large ballroom scenes alongside principal cast members and other background performers.
• Follow direction from the production, wardrobe, hair, and makeup teams.
• Event staff performers will portray high-end servers and wait staff.
• Remain available for full shoot days, which may involve extended hours.

Requirements

• Gala Guests: Ages 18–75 approximately.
• Event Staff: Ages 18–50 approximately.
• Must be a Nova Scotia resident, pay taxes in Nova Scotia, and be legally permitted to work in Canada.
• Must be available for both filming days due to continuity requirements.
• Gala guests must have flexibility to attend a wardrobe fitting in HRM.
• Applicants with their own tuxedo or formal floor-length gown should mention this when applying.
• Event staff should highlight any previous service or hospitality industry experience.
• Event staff must provide black dress shoes, black dress pants, a black belt, and a white shirt; remaining costume pieces will be provided.
• Performers previously used as 1999 or Season One background should not apply for these roles.

Compensation

• ACTRA background performer rates apply for union talent.
• Non-union rate: $16.75 per hour.
