A dynamic, internet-based YouTube channel is looking for a talented short form video editor to join a fast-paced, creative team. Must have a passion for editing as well as the YouTube space along with a drive to continuously grow and deliver the latest and greatest content. As an editor, you will be responsible for turning raw footage into a final product seen by millions of fans and supporters. Taking direction from your team, you will help drive narrative and keep viewers engaged in order to maximize video impact. Having knowledge of the best YouTube and TikTok editing practices is a must, along with a firm grasp on comedic timing, and a punchy editing style. Candidates must have experience working in the YouTube landscape to be considered for the position. Only candidates local to Austin, TX will be considered for the position.
Responsibilities
- Ability to cut/trim raw footage in such a way as to add to its entertainment value.
- Ability to work well in both a supervised and unsupervised capacity.
- Ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects.
- Team player always looking to find cutting-edge techniques to bring the best possible content to the viewers to keep them coming back.
- Passion for all things Internet (memes, trends, etc).
- Track and organize multiple projects and videos.
- Constant communication and reviews with creative team.
Requirements
- Previous experience working for a YouTube channel (Full-Time or Freelance).
- Keen understanding of short form editing(YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels) styles and techniques.
- Expertise and efficiency in Adobe CC, as Premiere is the NLE of choice.
- Experience with Photoshop and/or After Effects is a plus.
- Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio.
- Understanding of comedic timing, and clientele personality.
- Excellent multi-tasking ability and communication skills.
