5th Grader games are played by a single contestant, who attempts to answer ten questions (plus a final bonus question). Content is taken from elementary school textbooks, two from each grade level from first to fifth. Each correct answer increases the amount of money the player banks; a maximum cash prize of $1,000,000 can be won. Along the way, the player can be assisted by a “classmate”, one of five school-age cast members, in answering the questions. Notably, upon getting an answer incorrect or deciding to prematurely end the game, the contestant must state that he or she is “not smarter than a 5th grader.”

Kanye West may not be the most popular person in the world. But, he definitely was the most unpopular person his flight to Helsinki. According to reports, Kanye West was late to his commercial flight from Paris to Helskini yesterday but, the airline waited for for the rapper to get onboard before taking off.
“The whole flight was waiting on one of those buses that ferries passengers from the gate to the plane. Kanye and his assistant boarded in a huff,” our source says. “The assistant sprinted to the bus from the gate with all of the travel documents, while Kanye walked casually behind him. They did not apologize for keeping everyone.”
Once West, 37, finally arrived at the aircraft and boarded, he took his seat in first class. As coach class boarded, a European couple asked the 21-time Grammy Award winner for a photo but Mr. Kim Kardashian refused.
“He initially seemed to say yes, but then pointed at the line of passengers behind them waiting to board and declined … mostly through hand gestures. He was almost mute. He was not talkative at all,” our source adds. [via]
It was also reported that Kanye gave a fellow passenger a fist bump. But, there is also little to make up for showing up to a flight two hours later.

SCAM: The Walking Dead Spinoff to Film in Pennsylvania in December
Update: The Walking Dead companion series casting call was most likely a hoax. Several websites initially reported the casting calls as genuine, but details surrounding the mysterious casting company were later revealed on Monday. TWDenthusiasts found that the casting calls were tied to a Pennsylvania talent agency that has been accused of tricking applicants out of money by promising jobs they never deliver.
As of 6PM EST, all Craigslist ads have been removed and/or flagged from Craigslist.
Additionally, new details about the supposed “The Walking Dead” companion series casting call in Bucks County, PA have emerged. We received a number of emails from people looking to determine the legitimacy of the “audition”. Fortunately, enough people provided us emails to compare them all and determine that this is likely a scam by It Factor Productions.
In the emails provided to TWDEnthusiasts.com, Tina, the Director of Talent Services at It Factor Productions, reached out to inform hopefuls that the casting directors “really loved your look” and would be “interested in auditioning you for some extra work or possibly a principal role.” Oh boy, lucky you!!
When you do a little digging about the company, the reviews are less than stellar – most reviews claim that the company tries to get you to pay hundreds, even thousands of dollars, before you ever get cast. [TWDenthusiasts]
While we can not 100% confirm the legitimacy of this casting call, we strongly believe that this casting call is fake and a fraud. That being said, there are no official announcements of where the new Walking Dead spin-off will take place.

The Walking Dead Companion series has got its first casting call, which reveals that series will be filming in mid-December in Pennsylvania.
According to reports, multiple casting calls are circulating online but, the primary casting call is looking for extras and principal roles in the upcoming Walking Dead series, which is not a spinoff because it won’t include any of the same characters as the main show.
The casting call does not point out the companion series but is believed to be the companion series but is believed to be for the series because Walking Dead is currently filming in Atlanta, Georgia.
The companion series will explore a different group of people who are also caught up in the zombie apocalypse. It’s the same world as The Walking Dead, but with different people.

Eye Candy, which debuts January 12th, stars Victoria Justice as Lindy, a beautiful, reclusive hacker whose blog exposes terrorist plots, suspected killers, and other secrets – making her a prime target for a cyberstalker. After her roommate convinces her to try online dating, Lindy begins to believe one of her online prospects is also her stalker. Things soon turn deadly and she is forced to team up with NYC’s cyber crime unit to catch the killer.

Netflix CEO Says regular broadcast TV will be dead in 16 years as more people choose digital versus cable.
During a speech made on Monday in Mexico City regarding Netflix’s growing presence in Hispanic countries, CEO Reed Hastings explained how broadcast television will soon be outdated. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hastings argued “broadcast TV will probably last until 2030,” painting broadcast TV as “kind of like the horse — you know, the horse was good until we had the car.”
Hastings has been arguing that the end of TV is near. In April 2013, the CEO argued that internet TV will soon replace “linear TV.” in the year and a half since the CEO has made those claims, HBO, Showtime and CBS are all planning standalone apps, while Dish Network is preparing an Internet pay-TV service featuring bundles of Disney owned programs such as ESPN and A&E.
Cable networks typically make their money based off of ad revenue. However, in the past 10 years only 2011-2012 did cable networks experience any growth. As a result, advertisers are predicted to increase their spending on digital platforms such as YouTube rather than cable channels.
In addition, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings argued that Nielsen’s ratings system is outdated and not “very relevant” because the rating system does not take into account mobile video consumption. Netflix is known for not revealing viewership numbers for their original programming. In 2012, Netflix asserted that disclosing ratings “creates a benchmark that is irrelevant to the business but sexy and exciting to write about and puts a lot of performance pressure on shows that otherwise will be great shows over time.”
Hastings did not reveal what data leads him to beleive broadcast networks will end by 2030. But, his vision is not alone. Cisco Systems conducted a study in 2011 on the future of television and discovered conventional TV viewing will end by 2030.

According to reports, Fox has decided not to order any more episodes of its freshman series Red Band Society. Red Band Society, called the “Cancer Glee” by critics, will air two more episodes before being removed from the Network. From Deadline:
Red Band Society has become the latest softly rated new series this fall to be allowed to complete its 13-episode pickup with no back order. NBC did it with comedies Bad Judgeand A To Z and drama Constantine, all of which also were left on the air to finish their 13-episode freshman runs in their original slots. (Via)
Red Band Society was expected to be one of the biggest shows of the year. However, with poor ratings and a lack of interest, Fox pulled the plug on the TV series.
Based upon the Catalan drama series Polseres vermelles, the series is a dramedy focused on a group of teenagers living together as patients in a hospital’s pediatric ward.
Red Band Society has received mixed to positive reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the show holds a rating of 60%, based on 47 reviews. The site’s consensus reads, “Its premise may be questionable and its light-hearted tone is occasionally overbearing, but Red Band Society succeeds on the strength of its young characters.”
This is the second TV series that is filmed in Georgia that was cancelled by network executives. However, it is also expected that ABC will pull the plug on Resurrection, another Georgia production in the next few weeks.
