Sony Pictures Hack: Hundreds of Employee Complaints Released

0

Sony Pictures Hack reveals hundreds of employee complaints especially the workplace hate for Adam Sandler and greedy actors.

The hack of Sony Pictures Entertainment is revealing every detail of sensitive insider information, for hundreds of social security numbers to salary data. Now, according to Gakwer, a huge list of workplace complaints have been released.

The workplace comments were found in a plain text file titled “Sony_2012_Comments.” Inside includes hundreds of  complaints featureing negative employee feedback. None if is directed to any particular employee but, it does demonstrate there is ton of unhappy people working at the struggling studio.

Sony Hack Fury

Below are the highlights of the workplace complaints:

Need to improve the creative staff in Motion Pictures. Seems like we just reboot old product instead of coming up with new ideas like the Hunger Games. We need new fresh ideas that can drive franchise product. Go out and hire the best.

Be more focussed and ruthless in directing our resources to businesses that will sustain the long term health of SPE – networks, broadcast TV shows, new movie franchises, digital distibution By the same token, stop or reduce support for areas that have no more value (Sandler movies, DVD)

There is a general “blah-ness” to the films we produce. Althought we manage to produce an innovative film once in awhile, Social Network, Moneyball, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, we continue to be saddled with the mundane, formulaic Adam Sandler films. Let’s raise the bar a little on the films we produce, and inspire employees that they are working on the next Social Network. That said, there’s a strange dichotomy of encouraging us to be fiscally responsible, but then upper management allows certain talent and filmmakers to bleed us dry with their outlandish requests for private jets, wardrobe and grooming stylists– and are surprised when they are asked to work more than 5 hours to promote their film.

In TV and Theatrical, I hope management looks closely at the money spent on development and term deals to ensure efficiency. There are a lot of term deal personnel as well as creative personnel, yet we only release a dozen or so Columbia Pictures a year, for example. And will we still be paying for Adam Sandler? Why?

It is commenable that SPE understands/supports the importance of risk-taking, particularly in how the we pick films to greenlight. However, the studio needs to change deal structure that has been in place with Happy Madison, as this arrangement has disproportionately benefitted Adam Sandler and his team, relative to SPE.

Perhaps it’s a generational thing, but I’ve been disappointed with the content of some of the films we’ve been producing lately. I don’t think people who know me would consider me a prude, but the boorish, least common demomonator slate strikes me as a waste of resource and reputation. “I think the mirror should be tilted slightly upward when it`s reflecting life — toward the cheerful, the tender, the compassionate, the brave, the funny, the encouraging, all those things — and not tilted down to the gutter part of the time, into the troubled vistas of conflict.” Greer Garson 1990 I think that quote could be adapted to apply to the base elements of some of the films we produce.

In order to be the top studio, Sony needs to not release dark movies (i.e. Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) around the holiday season. No one wants to see a film like Girl (which is a great film by the way) around the holiday season.

Are you aware that Men In Black 3 may gross $600M at the box office, and yet will lose money for SPE? Shouldn’t we question that strategy? Why are some studios making Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Twilight – and we are considering movies like Moneyball, Steve Jobs story, Captain Phillips Story, Evel Knievel story, etc. Are you aware that SPE only has 1 franchise – Spiderman. Yet, it took 5 years to generate a sequel? Spidey 3 was released in summer 2007, #4 in 2012. Don’t harry potters come out over 2-3 years? Are you aware that SPE has only 1 franchise – Spidey? Yet we waited 5 years after Spidey 3 (2007) to release #4? Have you read the SEC annual report? Disney will make $300M on Spidey merchandise this year alone. We won’t!

We do not seem to be doing new or original ideas anymore unless they come from term deal players. Remakes, sequels, and movies which are better off being E True Hollywood stories, should be left by the side of the road. Our development execs should focus on new fresh material, and not be permitted to simply remake another money.

Moving a major work force to foreign countries is taking job opportunities away from lots of employees at Sony Pictures Imageworks. Families are separated, people are forced to leave the country, and workers don’t have any hopes in their future with the company any more. It is sad to see that the company doesn’t care about us at all.

Stop making the same, safe, soul-less movies and TV shows. Enough with the re-makes and reboots. Breaking Bad and Community are just about the most artful and innovative gems we currently have

The hack also released unreleased scripts such as a “Beverly Hills Cop” TV remake and a new Vince Gilligan series. We will keep you updated.

Please do not apply, if you are not local or if you do not fit the description.

Right now I feel like we’re in a really good creative groove. The show feels really good, and we all as writers, and the actors, are really jazzed about the content and excited about the stories that we’re telling. In a way, it’s come back around to season one in terms of its feeling and grounding it all in relationships and characters – and suspense and tension. So I feel like we can keep going. We’ve got people ready and willing to keep going

So, if all of the characters are willing to continue working on The Vampire Diaries, what does the showrunner think will happen at the end of the show?

According to Plec, everything comes down to Elena’s character because, she is the center that holds the show together. She explained:

I don’t really want to talk about the end game of Elena’s character. I think that is the end game of the series. I don’t want to give that up

6 Things You Missed in The Walking Dead Mid-Season Finale

0

Warning: Huge Walking Dead spoilers for the mid-season finale “Coda” are coming up

The mid-season finale aired on Sunday and it quite frankly, wrapped up Season 5 quite nicely. The episode started out with three different groups but, ended with everyone reuniting in the parking lot of the hospital. Unfortunately, the reunion was depressing as Beth Greene, was killed in the final moments of the episode.

While there is a lot to process in this action-packed episode, here are 5 things you missed in The Walking Dead episode “Coda”

TWD11-Noah-e-Beth

1. “Coda”

According to Webster Dictionary Coda is defined as the following:

co·da noun \?k?-d?\

: an ending part of a piece of music or a work of literature or drama that is separate from the earlier parts

: something that ends and completes something else

So it is no coincidence in the episode in which Beth, the most musically talented member in the group dies in the episode. It is also important to note that her “song” is over, but it is a sign that there a lot more to come.

2. Karma finally hits Father Gabriel

In the last episode Father Gabriel was seen limping around in the woods. In ‘Coda’ we see Father Gabriel is outside the school where we last saw Gareth and the Hunters. Gabriel found some personal items from the remaining people of terminus, including a bible which once belonged to Gareth’s mother, Mary. It was after noticing her bible that he saw the remains of Bob’s leg, and something in him seemed to change. It was at this point that the glass doors and windows at the school finally broke, and Gabriel limped back to the church begging for help. It is important to note that five episodes ago Gareth promised Bob they would.

The scene of him begging to be let him is also ironic because, Father Gabriel’s biggest secret was that he had locked his church members outside the church when the outbreak first began.

Rick The Walking Dead

3. Rick has completely changed

Rick went completely dark in this episode. From the start of the episode, he chased down a still handcuffed Lamson, and hit him with the police car, not unlike what happened to Carol. With the injured officer on the ground, Rick insisted, “It didn’t have to be like this, you just had to stop,” though this was followed up with Rick saying “you can’t go back, Bob.” Lamson tells Rick that, “he’s been out here too long,” before he’s shot dead and Rick tells him to shut up.

Lamson’s death demonstrates that Rick will do anything to survive, no matter what the cost, and he has no interest in compromising. This will probably be a big deal in the second half of Season 5. The gang will reach Alexandria Safe-Zone, and Rick will have a hard time adapting to life that is organized rather than the lawless world he has been living in for the past several months.

TWD Beth Carol

4. The Walking Dead foreshadowed Beth’s death

The sad image of Daryl carrying Beth’s dead body outside of the hospital was foreshadowed by the episode, “Consumed.” Daryl burned the shrouded body of the child walker at the with Daryl carrying Beth in a similar manner in “Coda”.

This was also seen in episode 13 of Season 4, when Daryl carried an injured Beth, wearing the same clothes that she had on when she died, to a house after she got her foot stuck in an animal trap. In addition, Beth also said in episode 12 of Season 4, that “you’re gonna miss me so bad when I’m gone, Daryl Dixon.”

The Walking Dead

5. The symbols return

After not seeing any engravings of the mysterious tree carvings since “Four Walls and a Roof,” the mysterious tree markings returned in “Coda”.

In the episode “Coda” you see a sideways ‘L’, when Father Gabriel limped back through the forest toward the church, though he seemed not to notice the mark. It wasn’t until we saw Morgan, making his second appearance this season, that we saw him acknowledge both the symbol of a circle with a cross through it, and the one of a sideways ‘L’.

The sideways ‘L’ mark lead him directly to the church where he found the map Abraham had left for Rick, bringing him one step closer to the group. Even though it seemed like a long time has passed since the group left the church and Morgan finding it, and the mpa, it’s a good sign that he is on the trail. Expect to see Morgan a lot more in the second half of Season 5.

The Walking Dead Symbol

6. The Walking Dead made huge reference to The Boondock Saints movie

There was a ton of action in the mid-season finale, but the director of the mid-season finale made sure to give a clever nod to the movie Boondock Saints. Boondock Saints is the 1999 crime movie which starred Daryl Dixon, aka Norman Reedus in the lead role. The movie centered around two twins Murphy (Norman Reedus) and Connor MacManus (Sean Patrick Flanery), who became vigilantes after killing two members of the Russian Mafia and set out to rid their home city of Boston, of crime and evil.
