Instagram Purge causes celebrities to lose millions of followers that stars’ may have paid hundred of thousands of dollars for.
Celebrities with tons of followers on Instagram may not be as popular as they think. The social media site recently told all users, “your number of followers has changed. We just completed a fix to remove spammy accounts.”
That is bad news for celebrities who either attract a ton of spam accounts or more likely, paid money to increase their followers by adding fake ones.
Many stars’ accounts are handled by a social media team, explains Michael Heller, CEO of Talent Resources. “It’s very inexpensive, so that’s why many social media teams [buy followers].” Web sites can charge just $30 for 2,500.
The result of Instagram’s purge has seen celebrities’ followers plummet. On Thursday, it was reported that 1.3 million of Kim Kardashian’s followers. Rihanna’s decreased by 1.2 million, Katy Perry’s went down 300,000. Even Oprah lost 100,000 followers.

Many brands pay $100,000 for posts and negotiate fees based on followers it is embarrassing to see your favorite celebrities may thousands just for social media attention.
This man has spent $150,000 to look like Kim Kardashian.
This 23-year old British man has taken plastic surgery to a whole new level and has spent $150,000 to look like Kim Kardashian and well the results speak for themselves.
Here’s the list of procedures he’s had done:
lip fillers
cheek fillers
Botox
laser hair removal
eyebrow tattoos
veneers
Parke claims that he fell in love with Kim Kardashian a few years ago, when he saw her in an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. “I laugh when people try to insult me by telling me I look plastic or fake,” he said in an interview with The Sun. “Do they think I’m going for the natural look? If I was, I’d ask for my money back.”
Parke is saving up for a nose job next. I guess everyone has their own goals and dreams.

The actor behind the iconic M&Ms commercial has made a ton of money in residuals.
It’s that time of the year where we see teh same commercials over and over again. One such commercial is the iconic M&M commercial where Santa says “They Do Exist”. The commercial has been running for the 18 years and according to one Redditor, the commercial has earned the Santa between $5000 to $10,000 every year.
My friend is the stuntman who does the fall in this M&Ms commercial.
Actors (including stunt performers) are supposed to get a small payment any time their work is shown (“residuals”), but for commercials it’s pretty typical to just get paid 2x your rate up front in exchange for giving up your residuals.
When my friend shot this commercial, he refused the extra up-front money and instead chose to keep his residuals. So for the last 18 years he’s been getting somewhere between $5000 and $10,000 in residuals every Christmas. Extra presents for everyone! (Via)

VH1’s ‘Sorority Sisters’ canceled? Twitter backlash against VH1’s ‘Sorority Sisters’ prompts advertisers to pull out.
The premiere of VH1’s controversial new reality show “Sorority Sisters” was met with an overwhelming negative reaction on Twitter.
From the Washington Post:
Now, after pressure from the show’s critics, who say it portrays black Greek life in a negative light, some advertisers are reconsidering airing ads on the network.
Carmex announced that it would pull its ads from the network until VH1 cancels the program.
Hallmark, Honda, Crayola, JBL Audio and State Farm said it also has no plans to advertise during future episodes of the TV series.
A spokeswoman for Hallmark confirmed that the decision was made in response to public opposition to the show. The company, Linda Odell said in an e-mail, will not advertise during the show “because of consumer reaction to the program.”
A spokeswoman for Hallmark confirmed that the decision was made in response to public opposition to the show. The company, Linda Odell said in an e-mail, will not advertise during the show “because of consumer reaction to the program.”
Update: 3:50 p.m.: Several other advertisers including Honda, Crayola, and JBL, a subsidiary of Harman International, have also said they are pulling their ads from the show. State Farm has responded to inquiries saying that they do not air commercials during Sorority Sisters.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzgQlRimreU
Sorority Sisters centers around the lives of nine Atlanta area women who are members of black sororities. Since the show was given a greenlight, it became the target of protests. People planned to boycott the new TV series (official hashtag: #BoycottSororitySisters) and members of black Greek organizations called the network to stop production of the series.
“A lot of [Black Greek Letter Organization] members were angry that their initial petition didn’t work, and that VH1 was trying to sneak the show into their lineup without much notice,” Lawrence Ross, who helped launched the boycott efforts, wrote in an e-mail to The Post. He noted that he “created a social media strategy that targeted the brands who are supporting the show, either explicitly through direct ads, or implicitly, as part of an ad block buy. I was sure that none of them would want to be part of a show that denigrated close to one million African American fraternities and sororities.”
VH1 reports that the first episode was seen by 1.3 million people and it was the number one show in that time slot.
“There are currently no plans to change the series and it seems to be connecting with its audience,” the network said through a spokeswoman.
“Due to the confidential nature of our agreements with our advertising partners, we never speak to specifics about clients and their media plans,” she added. “But we do enjoy successful, long-term partnerships with our advertisers and are happy to honor any requests to move spots to other parts of our schedule.”
The petition calling on VH1 to dump “Sorority Sisters” has garnered more than 67,000 signatures.
Natalie Portman revealed that her role in the ‘Star Wars’ prequel trilogy temporarily damaged her career.
Natalie Portman has admitted that her performance on George Lucas’s Star Warswas hated and it damaged her career. Portman played Queen Padmé Amidala in 1999’s Episode I: The Phantom Menace and reprised the role for Lucas’s subsequent films in the prequel trilogy, 2002’s Episode II: Attack of the Clones and 2005’s Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
Everett Collection / Shutterstock.com
“Star Wars had come out around the time of Seagull, and everyone thought I was a horrible actress,” Portman recalled in an interview with New York magazine. “I was in the biggest-grossing movie of the decade, and no director wanted to work with me. Mike wrote a letter to [fellow director] Anthony Minghella and said, ‘Put her in Cold Mountain, I vouch for her.’ And then Anthony passed me on to [another director] Tom Tykwer, who passed me on to the Wachowskis.” Natalie Portman continued: “I worked with [Czech director] Milos Forman a few years later. He said, ‘Mike saved me. He wrote a letter so that I could get asylum in the US’. He did that for 50 people, and it doesn’t make any one of us feel less special.”
Natalie Portman would later go on to earn a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for her performance in 2004’s Closer, which was directed by Nichols, and then later receive the Best Actress prize six years later for her work in Black Swan. Like her fellow stars in the Star Wars prequels, Ewan McGregor and Liam Neeson, she will not be returning for next year’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which is being directed by JJ Abrams.

Film and television acting is different than working on commercials and in a theater. Film and television actors, however, come from all sorts of different backgrounds, and none of them followed the same route to success. For example, some actors start as models like Brooke Shields, some start as stand-up comedians like Kevin Hart; others begin their careers as musicians like Will Smith. Then there are classically trained actors that have studied Shakespeare, such as Patrick Stewart.
It is hard to predict if you will make it as a film and TV actor, but there are several things you can do to prepare to be one.
In this guide to becoming a film and television actor, you will learn the differences between theater acting and film and television acting. You will also learn what typically occurs in a movie and TV set, and what kind of work you may be able to find as a film and TV actor.
Finding a Job
Film and television acting careers can be very unpredictable. So what worked for one actor probably won’t work for another actor. For example, some actors may be struggling to land a movie role but are extremely popular on several TV shows and vice versa.
Although you may want to star in a leading role on The Walking Dead, as an actor, you must audition for roles on soap operas, sitcoms, or feature films. You never know what can boost your acting career. The secret to success is to keep working on your acting skills through actual work experience and acting classes. Keep looking for auditions, and focus on improving yourself as an actor.
Movie and TV acting versus Theater acting
The theater is considered, in some circles, to be more prestigious than film and TV acting. But, working on a movie and TV show is more lucrative than any other production. A stage actor may have to work on their craft for years before he or she can be the lead in a hit Broadway play. But, acting on a TV show or film can launch your career overnight. Film and television shows can be broadcast over and over again throughout the world, appearing in a movie or TV show put your face in front of millions of people daily for several years. More people know the names of actors who appear in sitcoms and movies than they do their political representatives.
Besides increasing the chances of making more money, film and TV acting offers the opportunity to make more money than theater acting. One hit movie can allow for an actor to make more money in one film than a theater actor’s entire career.
Film and television acting occurs in segments and scenes. Unlike Theater where actors entire story from start to finish every night. As a film or TV actor, you may spend a full day shooting only a few scenes, and there’s a good chance an editor will remove that your worst take out of the final version. However, as a theater actor, nothing can hide lousy acting. As a film or television actor, looks are everything with talent being secondary to how you look.
It is important to note that not all actors in Theater can make the transition to film and television, and the same applies to TV actors trying to make it into Theater. Theater actors may find performing for a camera boring while; TV actors may find Theater acting far more demanding.
Another big difference is the amount of responsibility theater acting requires. For instance, as a theater actor, you must work night after night. However, the reaction actors get from the audience will let them know what works and what doesn’t, and they can tweak their performances accordingly.
Film and TV actors must perform for a camera; they don’t have the opportunity to see what works for audiences and what doesn’t. For instance, if you are acting in a comedy, you don’t know have any idea what is funny and what’s not until the film is released. Many sitcoms try to make this better by filming in front of a live studio audience. To compensate for the lack of an audience, film and TV actors often perform the same scene over and over again with several changes in acting, blocking, or attitude. Then the director will choose the best scene to use. Often, film and TV acting gives the actor the chance to experiment more freely with their acting.
How to improve your skills as a TV and film actor
Learn what you need to know about being an actor and how to act in film and TV
Acting in film and television requires several sets of skills. Here several, every actor must master:
Know how to work for the camera
Act the same with every take
Know how to act scenes when they are out of order
How to Act For the Camera
In film and TV acting, you don’t have a live audience giving you feedback. Instead, you have a camera, the director, and the camera operator, and a few extras from time to time, which means you need to use your imagination and pretend. To help you “play to the camera,” keep this in mind.
Know where the cameras are all the time.
Know what the camera is trying to capture – If the camera is capturing a closeup, concentrate on your eyebrows to convey emotions because the camera is going to capture everything.
Know where the other actors and props are located – You never want to block the camera’s view of another actor.
To improve, watch TV shows or movies on video with the sound turned off. Without any dialogue to tell you what to do, you can guess what the actors are trying to say to everyone. Body and facial gestures can tell you more than you may think. By studying movies and TV shows, with the sound off, you can research how gestures can help or hurt an actor’s performance.
“The camera never lies,” means that acting in front of the camera captures every gesture, motion, glance, breath, and glance. In Theater, you can get away with shifting your glance. Unless you’re trying to go for a particular look that you want your character to portray, inappropriate movements and gestures, such as quickly moving your eyes, can destroy your acting performance in film and TV productions.
Videotape your self performing a monologue and look for an inconsistent action that detracts from your character. For instance, if you’re portraying a tough, confident business-person, don’t look down. Strong characters never look down.
Ask your acting coach or instructor to watch your videotape and comment on the type of character that he or she thinks you are trying to do.
Acting the Same with Every Take
Acting consistently with different takes is crucial to TV and Film acting. In the world of film and TV, you don’t just perform a scene once. You play the same scene over and over again, so the director can capture that scene from several different angles, and so that actors can try different variations on their acting. The director may choose to film the same scene many times.
To improve consistency with each take, you have to be aware of continuity each time you perform a scene on camera. From an actor’s point of view, the problem with shooting the same scene over and over again is that the actors never know which scenes will ultimately be used, so they need to be consistent.
Acting scenes out of order
Outside of maintaining continuity throughout several takes of the same scene, you also have to worry about continuity between different scenes. For financial reasons, film and TV shows are filmed out of order. Therefore, you shoot the final scene of the movie on your first day on set. If your character is supposed to be shy at the beginning of the film but more aggressive by the end, your actions must reflect those character choices. If you fail to act accordingly, your character will not make sense.
Introduction Welcome to your Acting learning journey! After working in the entertainment industry for over a decade, we have realized there is a lot of misinformation, and many aspiring actors are stumbling to find success in…

Georgia and Louisiana have quickly become the go to location for any TV show or feature film. However, studio operators are looking into providing rich tax breaks to help Toronto and Vancouver in order to compete with Atlanta and New Orleans.
Canadian production players see the sudden collapse of their dollar against the American greenback helping them draw projects from Georgia and Louisiana.
The Canadian loonie (one-dollar coin) on Tuesday plunged to below US$0.86 cents amid an oil bust. The extra currency savings for Hollywood film and TV projects shooting in Canada has local studio operators and equipment rental suppliers feeling more assured as they combat the lure of Atlanta and New Orleans.
Both locales offer incentives of up to 30 percent that cover eight-figure actor salaries and other above-the-line spending. “They can save 15 percent above the line. It’s not 30 percent like in Atlanta and Louisiana, but it’s putting Canada closer and closer to parity with our two main competitors, Atlanta and Louisiana,” Paul Bronfman, chairman of Pinewood Toronto Studios and equipment supplier Comweb Group, told The Hollywood Reporter.
According to reports, in the 1990s and early 200s, film tax credits in Canada allowed for major studios to make movies and TV shows in Canada. But, the value of the loonie increased in 2007, which allosed for many U.S. states outside of California to take a ton of business away from Canada. Ontario and Quebec currently offer 25% tax credit on all spends, and Britich Columbia offers the film industry a 33% tax break on labor costs to keep Vancouver the go to location for movies interested in recreating Toronto, New York City and Chicago.
Now, with the Canadian dollar at 85 cents and change, studio operators report more phone calls and scouting by Los Angeles producers eyeing locations that depict Harlem or the Magnificent Mile. “I’m sure its going to be a busier year for U.S. production in Toronto in 2015,”Ken Ferguson, executive director of Toronto studio Revival 629, predicted.
If the exchange rate continues to increase, then Hollywood to pick up their bags and head toward the Northern Lights.
Here are a list of all of the movies expected to film in Canada in 2015:

Alleged Atlanta Serial Killer, Aemon Presley was an aspiring actor who worked on several feature films in Atlanta, Georgia.
The film industry can attract dangerous people. Last year, an aspiring actress who worked on The Vampire Diaries and The Walking Dead was arrested and charged for trying to kill the President. Now, a serial killer haunting the streets of Atlanta, Georgia killing homeless men was an aspiring actor.
According to the AJC, a fourth victim was linked to the alleged killer of homeless men. Police have identified a fourth victim of a suspected serial killer linked to the deaths of two homeless men and a Cobb County hairstylist.
[Aeman] Presley, an unemployed actor who had recently returned to the Atlanta area from Los Angeles, is suspected in the deaths of homeless men Dorian Jenkins, Tommy Mims, killed within three days of each other during Thanksgiving week while they were sleeping on Atlanta’s streets, and 44-year-old Karen Pearce, shot to death Dec. 6 in downtown Decatur after having dinner with friends. Presley appeared in two locally shot, low-budget urban action movies, “Exit” and “Rules.” The director of both films, Taveras Wilson, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in an email that Presley was merely a “background performer/extra at best,” adding, “I did not know him personally nor can I recall very much of him from those movies.”
Once in Los Angeles, Presley had little luck breaking into show business, though last year he wrote that he was “relaxing in my life nowaday cooling down calming down and collecting mysef after going through all the changes and growing pains that Ive been threw as a younger black man. Im also getting my money right for once and for all.”
He used some of that money to sign up for acting classes at the Margie Haber Studio in Beverly Hills.
“So many Bad actresses in my acting class in Beverly Hills!!! Hope to meet my future wifey. Lol,” he wrote on Facebook in January.
…
In a caption accompanying one of his headshots, he wrote, “Its for badboy parts. A lotta people luv it. Everybody might not be feelin it. They problem not mine. Long as these people in Hollywood buy It. And buy me. And cut a check.”
But money was running low, Presley confessed in one exchange. If he had a social life, he never wrote about it, instead posing for dozens of selfies that showed him smoking marijuana or drinking.
One of the last photos he posted, on Jan. 9, included this eeriest of captions: “Killer.”
Aemon Presley was arrested Thursday by MARTA police at the Georgia State raile station after attempting to jump the gates without paying. He was apprehended with a loaded revolver and a box of ammo matching him to the other two homeless shootings.

“I supervise all of Kanye’s film and media projects, and we have a major film project coming up that involves both cinematic and technological innovation, so I naturally thought Sony and wanted to reach out,” wrote Rutberg. “We premiered a multi-screen cinema experience to great response at Cannes 2012, and are looking to take the storytelling to the next level with a feature length film, shot for an immersive cinema experience.”
In September, we reported that Kanye West was interested in making a comedy movie but no one was interested.
A source told the American edition of OK! magazine that “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy“, the 2004 original to that film, piqued West’s interest in comedy acting, and that “he’s told his agent to find him a role in a big comedy, but so far no one’s interested.”
You know what, I can’t. It’s in Kanye Land, and that’s subject to a whole other time frame. He came and asked me to write the film. I didn’t want to at first. Then I listened to Yeezus. It was early summer last year and I was driving in my car. He’d given me an advance copy, and I thought, regardless of whether I’m right for this project, I want to work with whoever made this. So fuck it, I said yes. And that’s how it happened. That was seven or eight months ago. We’ll see what happens.
An email dated August 7, 2014, from producer James Weaver to Rogen, his filmmaking partner Evan Goldberg, and Pascal says, “We’ll have an XMAS tease for 2015. We have a specific idea to attach to THE INTERVIEW that will crush. Seth, Joe, and [Anthony] Mackie reenacting the scene from BIG on the floor piano at FAO Schwartz with KANYE WEST. It’s fucking awesome.”
