Isaacson’s biography is being adapted for a movie developed by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) and directed by Danny Boyle. The upcoming movie will focus on Jobs’ relationship with seven other characters, including cofounder Steve Wozniak, former CEO John Sculley and Joanna Hoffman, Apple’s original head of Mac marketing. Michael Fassbender will portray Jobs and Seth Rogen will star as Steve Wozniak. While Sony Pictures initially acquired the rights to the book from author Walter Isaacson, it later withdrew from the project, with Universal Studios picking up the film a week later.

After Aaron Sorkin finished the script a number of individuals were approached to direct and star in the upcoming feature film. Initially, David Fincher, who previously collaborated with Sorkin on The Social Network, was considered to direct though he stated that he would only take the movie if Christian Bale played Steve Jobs. Fincher dropped out of the project, however, after Sony Pictures was unwilling to give him total marketing control and a $10 million upfront fee. Thereafter, Danny Boyle was invited to direct the project and he hoped to cast Leonardo DiCaprio as Steve Jobs. DiCaprio, however, left the project leaving Bale, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Bradley Cooper in consideration for the role.

While Bale entered into negotiations to portray Jobs, and initially appeared to accept the part, he eventually left the film. Natalie Portman was under consideration, but eventually parted from the film. During the 2014 Sony hacking, much information was revealed about the development of the film and personnel changes in various heated email exchanged between Amy Pascal and Scott Rudin.

The upcoming ‘Steve Jobs‘ movie centers around the 3 product launches of Apple in the 1980s and 1990s. Casting directors are looking for extras to play Café Patrons, Audience, Press & repeating Core Roles: Engineers, Marketing teams, Interns, Technicians, etc. with paid wardrobe fittings required.

‘Kickboxer’ Movie Leaves Town Without Paying New Orleans Crew

0

The new Jean Claude Van Damme movie, ‘Kickboxer’ leaves New Orleans without paying crew members and vendors.

According to Nola.com, the upcoming feature film, ‘Kickboxer‘, which we posted casting calls earlier this month, has left New Orleans without paying crew members, despite finishing more than a week ago.

New Orleans-based special effects coordinator R. Michael Bisetti said 150 crew members — not including vendors — are awaiting payment in the middle of the holiday season for work covering up to three weeks. The last day of shooting in the city was Dec. 13.

The goal is before Christmas Day, hopefully Tuesday (Dec. 23), he said. Producers are grateful for the crew’s work in New Orleans, and “all their effort will not be for naught,” Freund said.

“It’s the producer’s intent to get everybody paid as quickly as possible,” he said, adding that the film’s production will continue on schedule.

On the last day of shooting at the Market Street power plant, crew members refused to begin work after learning that paychecks wouldn’t be arriving as expected, according to three crew members.

The crew was eventually persuaded to finish the day, after producers promised to deliver payments by the following Tuesday — but that never happened, crew members said.

More than 200 people and their families are waiting to get paid and as one crew member pointed out, he is torn between paying bills and buying Christmas presents for his four kids.

‘Kickboxer’ is produced by Field of Radar Films with Dimitri Logothetis and Nick Celozzi. The movie is a reboot of the original ‘Kickboxer’ series. The original movie also starred Van Damme. THe movie is currently moving to Thailand to finish filming.

Angelina Jolie: Being Married to Brad Pitt is “Hard Work”

Angelina Jolie reveals that being married to Brad Pitt is “hard work”.

You may think it is easy to be an A-list celebrity with millions of fans, free dinners, and tons of twitter followers. But, you may be wrong, because as Angelina Jolie points out, you don’t have to come home to Brad Pitt every night.

After a public fight with Brad Pitt last month, Angelina Jolie explained the amount of stress she faces trying to maintain her perfect family.

“Maintaining a marriage and raising kids is hard work. You have to really make sure that your work doesn’t get in the way. That you don’t do something that is going to put too much strain on your family,” Jolie tells the Weekly.

For example:

“We have more moments where I say, ‘I’m going to be a better wife,'” she recently told Today. “‘I’m going to learn to cook.’ and [Brad] says, ‘Oh, honey, know what you’re good at.’ … But I do like, ‘No, no, no, I’m going to get this wife thing down.’ He knows my limitations and where I’m a good wife and a good mom.”

What do you think? Is it tough to be a celebrity wife/mom? Share with us your thoughts in the comments below!

‘The Hanky Code’ Feature Film Series Casting Call

0

“Hema” is a highlighted segment of a feature film anthology THE HANKY CODE being produced out of San Francisco via Periwinkle Cinema and featuring new pieces from over 20 directors.  Based on the color/kink MAROON/Menstruation-Blood, Hema is very experimental in content and form, and is a piece which highlights a woman’s fascination with her own body and the magical element within. Highly inspired by the likes of David Lynch and Kenneth Anger, an intimate, sensual monologue will overlay a presentation of images which represent the introspective analysis that Hema experiences in relation to menstruation, with a slightly sexual (whilst tame) approach.

LGBTQ most welcome! Shooting 2 days: Sat. Jan 24, Sun. Jan 25 in Brooklyn (1 day @ Chem Creative Studios).  This is a low-budget short with a super creative vibe. The content may sound intense, but it’s all about having fun with this one.  The “nudity’ is tasteful… think Jennifer Lawrence in X-Men but with red paint!

LEAD ROLE:   Hema is a fair, fragile, independent woman.  Her intent is to find a co-conspirator to share her fascination with being a woman.  Silent role, late 20s-early 30s, blonde preferred but not absolutely necessary.  Must be comfortable with kissing another woman – LGBTQ highly preferred. Model-types highly encouraged to submit, actresses are welcome as well! Performance artists also highly encouraged!

SUPPORTING:  This role is introduced in the second half of this 5-minute piece as the object of affection of our lead, Hema.  Female, dark hair preferred, must be open to tasteful nudity (think Jennifer Lawrence’s makeup in X-Men),  and open to kissing women.  LGBTQ, performance artists, models highly encouraged!

As this is a very experimental and silent piece, I’ll be scheduling face to face meetings to discuss the piece in greater detail.  Model types, performance artist types are highly encouraged to submit!

If you are not local and/or do not fit the description, do not apply

North Korea is Facing a ‘Massive Internet Outage’

North Korea is experiencing a ‘Massive Internet Outage’

Following the Guardians of Peace hack attack against Sony, which the US publicly blames on North Korea (something many people don’t believe), President Obama publicly threatened a “proportional response” against the North Koreans. Now that North Korea is suffering one of its “worst internet outages in recent memory,” many are wondering if it payback from the United States.

“I haven’t seen such a steady beat of routing instability and outages in KP before,” said Doug Madory, director of Internet analysis at Dyn Research. “Usually there are isolated blips, not continuous connectivity problems. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are absorbing some sort of attack presently.” [North Korea Tech]

The New York Times also confirms that North Korea’s internet has gone down.

North Korea does very little commercial or government business over the Internet. The country officially has 1,024 Internet protocol addresses, though the actual number may be somewhat higher. By comparison, the United States has billions of addresses.

North Korea’s addresses are managed by Star Joint Venture, the state-run Internet provider, which routes many of those connections through China Unicom, China’s state-owned telecommunications company.

By Monday morning, those addresses had gone dark for over an hour.

CloudFlare, an Internet company based in San Francisco, confirmed Monday that North Korea’s Internet access was “toast.” A large number of connections had been withdrawn, “showing that the North Korean network has gone away,” Matthew Prince, CloudFlare’s founder, wrote in an email. [NYTimes]

Reports suggest that Sony was planning to release The Interview on Crackle, which Sony later denied. Independent theaters wrote an open letter wanting to screen the movie and BitTorrent also offered their services. Meanwhile, a Sony lawyer told Meet the Press that the film will be distributed.

Hollywood Actor, James Woods Blames Al Sharpton for NYPD Killings

Hollywood Actor, James Woods Blames “Disgusting Pig” Al Sharpton for NYPD Cop Killing.

Actor James Woods went to Twitter on Sunday evening to vent about the killing of two New York City police officers by Ismaaiyl Brinsley. The actor blames the Rev. Al Sharpton, tweeting, “This disgusting pig is DIRECTLY responsible for the murder of two good policemen. No discussion.” before eventually deleting the tweet.

James Woods tweeted the following:

James Woods Twitter

James Woods has continued to call Rev. Al Sharpton a “Race Pimp” and #PigSharpton.

Earlier this week, two police officers were shot “execution style” in their car in Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood at around 3 p.m. The New York Post reports that both officers have died, as has the shooter.

“The perp came out of the houses, walked up behind the car and lit them up,” a high-ranking police official told the New York Daily News.

“It looks like they were shot in the upper body,” Deputy Chief Kim Royster told the New York Times.

The suspect then ran to the near boy subway station where he shot himself in the head. “They were, quite simply, assassinated,” police commissioner Bill Bratton said.

The killings have increased the divide between the NYPD – following a grand jury’s decision not to indict the officer who killed unarmed State Island man Eric Garner in July- and Mayor Bill De Blasio. Police officers turned their backs on De Blasio when he arrived at police headquarters for a press conference, and police union head Patrick Lynch told reporters that “there’s blood on my hands”.

This Instagram account below belonged to the man who allegedly killed the police officers in Brooklyn, it has since been suspended.

Study Says Dr. Oz’s Advice is Wrong About Half the Time

0

A new study shows that Dr. Oz is full of crap and tends to give bad medical advice to millions of people.

Do you tend to get your medical advice from Dr. Oz? Well you should probably stop. A new study from the British Medical Journal says that his advice is wrong about half the time.

Researchers randomly watched 40 episodes of his show and examined 160 recommendations. Their measure for whether something was truthful hinged on an ability to find at least one case study that supported advised. Researchers were only able to do that 54 % of the time.

Dr. Oz became famous on Oprah Winfrey’s show in 2004 and from there his popularity skyrocketed. The doctor has come under fire in the past year for using his show to promote unproven cures and unscientific ideas. he even had to testify in front of a Senate subcommittee this past June where he was grilled for being full of crap.

Dr. Oz later agreed that some of the stuff he promotes on his show is not actually scientific.

“I actually do personally believe in the items I talk about in the show,” Dr. Oz testified in June. “I passionately study them. I recognize oftentimes they don’t have the scientific muster to present as fact, but nevertheless, I would give my audience the advice I give my family.” [Emphasis added, obviously.] [Gawker]

It is hard to deny the number of times Dr. Oz likes to use the word “magic” and “miracle.” Here are some of the few things he said on TV.

“‘You may think magic is make believe but this little bean has scientists saying they’ve found the magic weight loss cure for every body type—it’s green coffee extract.”

“‘I’ve got the No. 1 miracle in a bottle to burn your fat. It’s raspberry ketones.”

“‘Garcinia Camboja. It may be the simple solution you’ve been looking for to bust your body fat for good.”

You may want to stop listening to Dr. Oz. At least if you prefer that your medical advice come from someone who knows what the hell he’s talking about. [Washington Post]

Mom from ‘The Blind Side’ is in trouble for this Instagram Photo

The real mom from ‘The Blind Side’ is in trouble for this Instagram Photo.

You may be familiar with the name Leigh Ann Tuohy. She is the adopted mother of NFL tackle Michael Oher, the player whose story inspired the Academy Award winning movie, The Blind Side. In the movie, Tuohy is played by Sandra Bullock who would later receive an Oscar for her role.

We see what we want! It’s the gospel truth! These two were literally huddled over in a corner table nose to nose and the person with me said “I bet they are up to no good” well you know me… I walked over, told them to scoot over. After 10 seconds of dead silence I said so whats happening at this table? I get nothing.. I then explained it was my store and they should spill it… They showed me their phones and they were texting friends trying to scrape up $3.00 each for the high school basketball game! Well they left with smiles, money for popcorn and bus fare. We gave to STOP judging people and assuming and pigeon holing people! Don’t judge a book by its cover or however you’d like to express the sentiment! Accept others and stoping seeing what you want to see!!! #LeighAnnesSundaySermon #BelieveInOthers

It seems like a real nice story. But, two days ago, one of the young men in the picture responded on Instagram.

same-kid-1

The true story behind what happened at that KFC store sparked arguments over the “white savior act”.

I know, I know. We shouldn’t bite the hand that feeds us. We should be grateful to be given good homes. Except that’s how you speak about dogs, I’m sick of black people being treated like animals, and America is not Leigh Ann Tuohy’s personal ASPCA.

Not to mention Leigh Anne Tuohy’s “White Savior Complex”

Leigh Anne Tuohy profiled two Black kids, invaded their privacy and interrogated them, but somehow people are behaving as if this is some kind of wonderful social justice moment. No. Not even a little. This is some fucked up racial profiling combined with white saviourism.

A few days later the young man in the picture responded on Instagram.

same-kid-2

Is Tuohy racist? Probably not. But, did she use race to make herself look good? Probably. At the end of the day maybe she wanted to do something nice.

Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) is going through a lot of changes. Ever since season 1, everyone close to Daryl has died. But, at the end of season 4, Daryl grew closer to Beth (Emily Kinney) when drunk on moonshine, she helped him seal with his troubled past. After Beth was killed and Carol wound up at Grady Memorial Hospital, Daryl’s closet friends were taken away from him.

So how will Beth’s death, which happened right in front of him, impact Daryl? From the Hollywood Reporter:

“I think it puts him into a depression,” Reedus told The Hollywood Reporter. “Sophia was like hope. You remember Glenn saying, ‘This is Sophia!’ It was different. She was the bright hope of the future. It was an honest and true person.”

“Beth’s death is like Sophia’s; she sings songs and was always hopeful,” Reedus said. “Of course she tried to kill herself at one point, but besides that, for the most part, she was this sweet songbird, and that represents a part of humanity that you don’t see anymore. So when you put that candle out, it goes dark for everyone.”

Colorado Movie Serial Killer’s Parents Plead For Their Son’s Life

0

Colorado Theater Shooter’s parents plead for their son’s life.

The parents of Colorado theater shooting suspect James Holmes are pleading for him to be spared the death penalty.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

In a letter to The Denver Post published Friday, Robert and Arlene Holmes say they have always loved their son and do not want him to be executed.

“He is not a monster. He is a human being gripped by a severe mental illness,” they wrote. Holmes has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to charges of killing 12 people and injuring 70 in the 2012 attack at a movie theater in Aurora outside Denver.

Jury selection is scheduled to start Jan. 20. His parents, who live in Rancho Penasquitos, California, say they also would like to avoid a traumatic trial. One option would be a plea deal allowing him to plead guilty to the charges in exchange for life in prison without parole.

“If that happened, our son would be in prison the rest of his life, but no one would have to relive those horrible events at a trial the media has permission to televise,” they wrote.

The parents say it would be in his best interest if he is sent to a mental institution, which could happen if he is found not guilty by reason of insanity.

His parent say they have spent the last two years thinking about the victims and their families.

They say the best option for their son would be if he is sent to an institution for the mentally ill, which could happen if he is found not guilty by reason of insanity. Holmes’ parents say they have spent every moment of the two years since the shooting thinking about the victims and their families and friends.
