The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving is now hiring stand-ins in Atlanta, Georgia

The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving centers around the story of  Benjamin Benjamin, a man who has lost virtually everything – his wife, his family, his home, his livelihood. With few options, Ben enrolls in a night class called The Fundamentals of Caregiving taught in the basement of a local church. There Ben is instructed in the art of inserting catheters and avoiding liability, about professionalism, and how to keep physical and emotional distance between client and provider. Assigned to care for a teen patient, Ben realizes his training has done little to prepare him for the realities of caregiving. Ultimately, the two embark upon a wild road trip across the American West and a new camaraderie replaces the traditional boundary between patient and caregiver.

The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving features Paul Rudd and Selena Gomezand the movie will be directed by Rob Burnett, the executive producer of “The Late Show With David Letterman.

‘The Vampire Diaries’ Creator Reveals Series Finale Ending

Creators of ‘The Vampire Diaries’ reveal details behind the series finale of the hit Vampire series.

As the ratings for ‘The Vampire Diaries’ continue to drop, the creator of the Vampire drama recently revealed a planned ending for the series and what to expect in the final seasons of the Georgia filmed production.

Co-Creator Julie Plec recently revealed the future plans for the series during the Television Critics Association press tour.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

“[The Vampire Diaries co-creator] Kevin[Williamson] and I came up with and cried over our perfect ending … and really stuck to that for many, many years,”

“Our main throughline this season has been learning more about the Gemini Coven, which is where Liv and Luke came from,” The Vampire Diaries executive producerCaroline Dries teased. “We met them last season, and now we’re starting to learn who their family is. We met Kai this season, their psychotic brother, and he’s been in prison [world] for years. And Kai has now absorbed all the magic in Mystic Falls, and he’s super powerful, and he has one thing in mind: I want to merge with my twin sister, and become the leader of the Gemini Coven. And so we’ll watch that story culminate with a lot of drama and death.”

The Vampire Diaries was recently renewed for a seventh season so there is plenty of drama to unfold in the future seasons.

Julie Plec also revealed details about the future of The Originals, and it looks like drama will be heating up.

It seems it won’t be good things for the clan: The Originals star Joseph Morgan (Klaus) shared that “the last thing I shot was [Klaus] walking in with a bag of severed heads.”

The CW is Planning an ‘Arrow’ Spinoff, ‘The Atom’

CW is plotting an ‘Arrow’ spinoff with ‘Atom’.

According to reports, The CW will soon be adding a second spinoff from Arrow. During the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour, CW President Mark Pedowitz said the network is in discussions about expanding the Arrow and Flash universe.

“We’re in very early talks in a very general idea that we haven’t gone deeper on yet,” Berlanti told reporters, with Routh noting he would like to continue with the role.

“When [the Arrow role] was proposed, I was hesitant to step into DC world again,” Routh said. The actor first donned Superman’s cape in 2006’s Superman Returns.

Pedowitz, whose schedule is lined with three DC shows in Arrow spinoff Flash and an adaptation of iZombie, noted that there’s “room for a lot of things” on his schedule and that genre is clearly working for the network. (Freshman The Flash, already renewed for a second season, ranks as The CW’s most-watched series.)

In the DC Comics, The Atom can shrink down to a subatomic size, with Arrow marking one of the only times the character has appeared in a live-action series.

The new series looks to compete with Marvel’s upcoming feature film ‘Ant-Man’, where a scientist creates a machine that can make someone shrink to the size of an ant.

Golden Globes: Man Passes Out During Awards Show

During the Golden Globes a man passed out and the police were called to the Beverly Hills award show

Paramedics were called to the Golden Globes after someone passed out at their table. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Beverly Hills Police Department were called to the scene for an unknown medical emergency, but the call was cancelled before paramedics arrived.

Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Theo Kingma said the man passed out because he was too hot sitting under the lights up front.

According to the BHPD spokesperson, the Beverly Hills Fire Department looked at the man and determined he was OK. The man did not receive medical treatment.

Maybe he was sitting too close to Jennifer Lopez?

Was the ‘Selma’ movie snubbed in the 72nd Annual Golden Globes?

The filmmakers behind the MLK J.R biopic, did not have an amazing night last night.

The controversial drama entered Sunday’s Golden Globes ceremony with four nominations but, only came home with one trophy for the best original song, “Glory” created by John Legend and Common.

The Oprah Winfrey production, described the events leading up to Martin Luther King Jr. march from Selma to Montgomery in 1965, didn’t win a single award in any of the three major categories including best drama, which went to Boyhood.

David Oyelowo was nominated for best actor in a drama but lost to Eddie Redmayne for The Theory of Everything. Director Ava DuVernay was also nominated for best director, but lost to Boyhood director Richard Linklater.

Many argue that the reason why Selma lost was because people believe the movie was historically inaccurate. As we reported earlier this month, a History professor said the movie had “significant errors” and a Lyndon B. Johnson scholar criticized the portrayal of the former president.

CW Network Renews ‘Vampire Diaries’, ‘Originals’ and ‘Jane the Virgin’

CW renews ‘Arrow’, ‘Flash’, ‘Supernatural’, ‘Vampire Diaries’, ‘Originals’, and many more.

The network has renewed eight scripted TV series including the breakout Golden Globe nominee ‘Jane the Virgin’.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, CW has renewed Arrow, Jane the Virgin, Reign, Supernatural, The 100, The Flash, The Originals and The Vampire Diaries.

“Each of these series have helped define what The CW is today, a network that is home to smart, provocative, quality programming, targeting a savvy adult audience,” CW presidentMark Pedowitz said in a release ahead of his executive session. “By picking up these shows now, our executive producers can start planning next season’s storylines, and rolling these shows out throughout next season guarantees The CW will have more proven original series for our fall, midseason and summer 2016 lineups.”

Much has changed for The CW in the past year. With the additions of Jane and DC Comics adaptation The Flash, the network has posted significant gains year-over-year. Its up 14 percent in total viewers — the network’s best showing since 2010-11 — and up a tick in the key adults 18-49 demographic to a 0.9, while flat in its key adults 18-34 metric. This season has seen the network post double-digit demo gains on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. The network often tops some of the Big 4’s originals in the advertiser-coveted demo and, with the addition of The Flash, has seen its typically female-dominated audience grow to 40 percent male — up 10 percent compared with four years ago.

Several of the hit TV shows on the CW Network are filmed in Atlanta, Georgia including The Vampire Diaries, and The Originals. Expect filming to continue to grow in Georgia.

The Scandals that Nearly Ended the Golden Globes

Here’s the true story as to how the Golden Globes was nearly banned forever.

The Golden Globe Award is the American award ceremony that is given by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) that recognizes excellence in film and television. The annual formal ceremony and dinner is a major part of the Hollywood’s film industry.

The 72nd Golden Globes Awards, airs on January 11th at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California and will be hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. But, the Golden Globes was nearly banned forever.

The Government Bans the Golden Globes

During the late 1960’s until 1974, NBC was banned from airing the Golden Globes award ceremony. The HFPA has had a huge contract with NBC for decades, which began broadcasting the award ceremony locally in Los Angeles in 158 and nationally in 1964. However, in 1968, the Federal Communications Commission claimed the show “misled the public as to how the winners were determined”. The allegations included that winners were determined by a group of advertisers. In addition, to motivate celebrities to show up to the awards ceremony they were informed that  if they did not attend another person would be named.

The FCC banned NBC for participating in the scandal. Subsequently, NBC refused to broadcast the ceremony from 1968 until after 1974.

Pia Zadora wins the award for best performance only after bribing judges

In 1982, scandal rocked the Golden Globes again. Pia Zadora won a Golden Globe in the category “New Star of the Year in a Motion Picture – Female” for her performance in Butterfly. At the time she was competing against Elizabeth McGovern (RagTime) and Kathleen Turner (Body Heat). Accusations surfaced that the Foreign Press Association members had been bought off. Zadora’s husband, multimillionaire Meshulam Riklis, flew voting members to his casino, the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas, which gave the appearance that they voted for Zadora to repay this. Riklis also invited voting members to his house for a lavish lunch and a showing of the film. He also spent a great deal on advertising.

Once again in 2011, a scandal rocked the Golden Globes. The nominations for the 2011 Globes drew initial skepticism, as the Foreign Press Association nominated The Tourist in its Best Musical/Comedy category, even though the movie was advertised as a spy thriller. Rumors then surfaced that Sony, the distributor of The Tourist, had bribed Golden Globes voters with an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas, followed by a concert featuring Cher.

Liam Neeson’s ‘Taken 3’ is the Number One Movie America

Liam Neeson’s Taken 3 rocks the box office as the number one movie in America.

Liam Neeson took no prisoners in Taken 3 as the movie earned $40.4 million in the box office, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The $48 million action film which was filmed in Atlanta last year, nearly beat last year’s record holder Ride Along, which opened to $41.5 million.

Taken 3 didn’t match the $49.5 million debut of Taken 2 in October 202, but latest release of Taken 3 had far more competition including The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, which was the reining king of the box office for three straight weeks.

Taken 3 featured Liam Neeson, Famke Janssen and Maggie Grace. The movie also introduced Forest Whitaker to the Taken franchise. Olivier Megaton returned to the director’s chair while Robert Mark Kamen wrote the script.

Taken 3 centers around ex-covert operative Bryan Mills (Neeson) as he avenges the death of his ex-wife. Taken 3 has received mostly negative reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes the film holds a rating of 11%, based on 73 reviews, with an average rating of 3.4/10. The site’s critical consensus reads, “Hampered by toothless PG-13 action sequences, incoherent direction, and a hackneyed plot,Taken 3 serves as a clear signal that it’s well past time to retire this franchise.” On Metacritic the film has a score of 26 out of 100, based on 24 critics, indicating “generally unfavorable reviews”.

Ava DuVernay’s Golden Globe nominee Selma came in as No. 2 in the box office making $14 million. The critically acclaimed movie currently sports a 99 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

NBC TV Pilot ‘Warrior’ is Ramping Up Production

NBC is investing in a martial arts drama for 2015 in the new series, ‘Warrior’ from the creator of ‘Crossbones’.

NBC is moving forward on a new Martial Arts drama pilot. According to reports, NBC has picked up Warrior, a martial arts drama from the creator of Crossbones, David DiGilio.

Here’s the official description: “In a grounded, contemporary multicultural and sometimes magical milieu, a damaged heroine works undercover with physical and spiritual guidance from a mysterious martial arts master to bring down an international crime lord.”

DiGilio will write the script and executive produce the production alongside Universal Television Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald (Flight, Men in Black, Gladiator).

This will be the second martial arts drama to hit TV screens in 2015. AMC is currently producing Badlands, a martial arts drama from the creators of Smallville.

For NBC, Warrior is the show’s first drama pilot and the second pilot of 2015. NBC is also producing a comedy pilot called , Go Jerrod Go starring Jerrod Carmichael.

MTV’s ‘Faking It’ Season 2 is currently seeking male actors with dreadlocks for a scene on Wednesday, January 21st.

Faking It is comedy about two best friends, Karma (Katie Stevens) and Amy (Rita Volk), who love each other in different ways. After numerous failed attempts to become popular, the girls are mistakenly outed as lesbians, which make them instantly popular. After becoming popular they decide to keep up their romantic ruse.

Casting directors are looking for men with dreadlocks that have acting experience to work on a scene filming on Wednesday, January 21, 2015.

‘The Originals’ Season 2 casting call for a private party scene filming in Atlanta.

‘The Originals’ is looking for extras to play party servers, caterers and worker types to work on a scene filming on Monday, Janaury 12th. Producers are looking for men and women ages 21 to 55 to work on a private party scene.

The Originals Season Two finds our heroes adjusting to a new status quo, with the very newly empowered werewolves controlling the city, Klaus struggling to adjust to new weaknesses, and Elijah is desperate to save Hayley, now a hybrid, from a vicious spiral of self-destruction.

to be servers, caterers and workers setting up for a private party,
REAL EXPERIENCE as a server is a plus, but not mandatory.
ALSO, if you are experienced as a server and/or caterer and have your own black pants, jacket and tuxedo shirt, please list.

– This works in CONYERS, GA and will film during the day time (starting in the morning) on our soundstage- this is a small group of people with dialogue happening right in the midst of setting up the party!

– PLEASE- if you are already booked for the work next Tues/ Wed, do NOT submit for this. This scene leads up to that scene, and needs to be different people! Also, no repeats who have been featured as specific categories, etc…

– We need workers, caterers, and servers setting up, so REAL EXPERIENCE as a caterer or party server is a huge plus,
but NOT mandatory.

– Pay is $60 for 8hr with over time after that.

NBC ‘Mysteries of Laura’ is now casting twins for a scene filming in New York City.

NBC’s ‘Mysteries of Laura‘ follows the life and relationships of the titular female homicide detective, played by Debra Messing. Laura’s soon-to-be ex-husband and also the clever cop who ends up being captain of her police precinct. The schmoozing serial cheater just needs to sign the papers for their divorce to be finalized. In the meantime, he’s stuck Laura with the responsibility of parenting their young twins.
