Nickelodeon Boobgate: Network Cancels TV Show for Showing Nudity

Nickelodeon is in trouble after the kid’s TV channel showed a bare breasted woman in the background.

According to reports, an episode of children’s TV show Oggy and the Cockroaches has been pulled after a scene showed a picture of a topless woman. The show airs on Nickelodeon’s children’s TV channel NickToons and Nickelodeon has removed the show from it’s schedule and website.

Oggy and the Cockroaches

From DailyMail:

An episode of a popular children’s show has apparently been pulled off the air after disgusted parents noticed cartoonists had drawn a picture of a pair of bare breasts into a scene.

The NickToons US website now appears to have removed the show from both its schedule and the show’s homepage, although some character’s ‘profile pages’ remain live.

But TV schedules for the next few days show other episodes are still billed to air in the US.

NickToons UK and Ireland began airing the show in September last year and shows new episodes every weekend morning.

It is unclear if the show will also be removed from the air in Britain.

Nickelodeon’s US website now appears to have removed the show from both its schedule and the show’s homepage, although some pages remain live

One father told TMZ his child spotted the pair of breasts on his faourite show and was ‘extremely unhappy’ about it – particularly has he was forced to have an chat about anatomy with his 8-year-old son.

Oggy and the Cockroaches is a French animated comedy that centers on Oggy, a blue cat, who would prefer to spend his days contentedly watching television and eating – if not for the three roaches living in the house. The trio seems to enjoy making Oggy’s life miserable.

What You Should Know About Networking in the Film Industry

0

Build networking relationships faster by sharing secrets.

If you want to succeed in Hollywood, you have to make connections. The best way to make new connections is by making new friends. You can achieve this by simply opening up and sharing secrets with someone you think will be valuable to your career.

Making friends and connections can be a weird process. You don’t want to come across as too needy, but you also ant to come across that you’re interested in getting to know them. A recent study led by psychology Professor Arthur Aron at Stony Brook University, pointed out that telling a secret to someone can help you pave the way to building a connection and a friendship much faster than normal. In the study researchers found evidence that points out that building a relationship can be sped up by moving past small talk and using self-disclosure to build trust and understanding.

Now, it is not in your best interest to a stranger your deepest, darkest secrets. You just want to open up and help them see you as a person, especially if you can share something that relates to your career goals and dreams. For example, admit you’ve never had a speaking line on a TV show, or you have a bad acting experience that you wish you could forget. They’ll feel like you trust them and will be more likely to open up as well. The next time you meet someone you seem to get along with, share a secret about something relatable to your career and perhaps this new connection will help launch your career.

HBO Wants ‘Game of Thrones to Last for 7 More Seasons

0

HBO wants ‘Game of Thrones’ to last for more than seven seasons.

The season 4 of Game of Thrones was watched by over seven million people. That is more than any True Blood episode or any episode of Lena Dunham’s Girls. Which means Game of Thrones is a massive hit, and HBO wants to milk the series as long as possible for as many seasons as possible.

“This is the hard part of what we do,” sighs HBO programming president Michael Lombardo. “We started this journey with David and Dan. It’s their vision. Would I love the show to go 10 years as both a fan and a network executive? Absolutely.”

So if the producers prefer seven seasons and HBO prefers more, what happens? A conversation…Like amicable spouses who avoid a sensitive area of disagreement, this issue is something HBO and the showrunners haven’t discussed thus far…“We’ll have an honest conversation that explores all possible avenues,” Lombardo says. “If they weren’t comfortable going beyond seven seasons, I trust them implicitly and trust that’s the right decision—as horrifying as that is to me. What I’m not going to do is have a show continue past where the creators believe where they feel they’ve finished with the story.” (Via)

This is not really a surprise. With HBO announcing the streaming service, HBO Now, and the lack of other hit shows, HBO is going to try their best to make ‘Game of Thrones’ last forever.

However, HBO is not interested in making a ‘Game of Thrones’ movie.

HBO isn’t keen on a Thrones film even if it’s a potential box office blockbuster, however, because the format switch could be construed as snubbing their loyal subscribers. (The showrunners won’t comment on the matter.) “Certainly there have been conversations where it’s been said, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool to do that?’” Lombardo said. “But when you start a series with our subscribers, the promise is that for your HBO fee that we’re going to take you to the end of this. I feel that on some level [a movie would be] changing the rules: Now you have to pay $16 to see how your show ends.” (Via)

The New Rings Movie will be a Prequel to ‘The Ring’

0

The new Rings movie will be a prequel to The Ring.

Paramount Pictures is currently filming a new film in their ‘The Ring’ horror franchise and according to reports, the movie wil be called Rings.

In a recent report from Bloody Disgusting, it was revealed taht the movie is expected to be a prequel not a sequel as we initially thought.

From Bloody Disgusting:

“takes place before the 2002 remake that starred Naomi Watts as a woman uncovering the mystery behind a haunted VHS tape. Rings will take place years before the creation of said tape and tell the origin of Samara’s reign of terror.”

The franchise is based on a series of Japanese films called ‘Ringu’, and in 2000 they released a movie called Ring 0: Birthday. That movie takes place 30 years before their first film, and it tells the story of how Sadako (Samara) was murdered when she was 19 years old and became cursed. Who knows this next movie will most likely be based on that one.

Rings is being directed by F. Javier Gutierrez (Before the Fall), from a script written by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman. So far the only person cast in the movie is Matilda Lutz, and we don’t know who she’ll be playing. The movie is set to be released on November 13th, 2015, and Marinella Hume Casting is currently looking for actors, models, and talent to work on the upcoming feature film. Check out the latest Rings casting calls here.

FOX’s ‘Empire’ Ratings Rise for the Ninth Straight Week

0

Fox’s ‘Empire’ ratings continue to rise for the ninth straight week.

Typically Daylight Saving Time kills ratings for TV shows but, Fox’s breakout hit ‘Empire’, ratings for the show have increased for the ninth consecutive week heading into the two-hour finale.

According to preliminary national estimates from Nielsen, “Empire” averaged a 5.6 rating/17 share in adults 18-49 (down a tick from last week’s prelim score) to more than double the rating of any other program on the night. The show’s five-week growth streak in 18-49 looks likely to come to an end, but currently standing at an un-rounded 5.644 in the prelims, “Empire” figures to finish at either a 5.7 or 5.8 (last week’s final score) in the nationals.

And in total viewers, it gained about 400,000 to set yet another high with 14.7 million.  The updated track: 9.90 million (Jan. 7), 10.32 million (Jan. 14), 11.07 million (Jan. 21), 11.35 million (Jan. 28), 11.47 million (Feb. 4), 11.96 million (Feb. 18), 13.02 million (Feb. 18), 13.90 million (Feb. 25), 14.33 million (March 4) and now a preliminary 14.7 million. [Variety]

Fox executive never expected the ratings to be this great. Expect, Season 2 to be even bigger and better for the network that is constantly struggling to find hit TV shows.

‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ Cast Want at Least a Million Dollars for the Sequel

0

‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan want seven figure raises for the upcoming sequel.

With Fifty Shades of Grey on the verge of making $550 million worldwide, it is no surprise that Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are interested in getting a raise for their acting skills.

According to reports the actors only made $250,000 to work on the movie and now they are seeking to make millions.

Sources say the pair received $250,000 each (plus tiered box-office bonuses) to star in Universal’s erotic hit based on the first of EL James‘ trilogy of novels, and both signed three-picture deals. But like most stars of franchise films, they will try to renegotiate for seven-figure raises for Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed. Neither Johnson, 25, nor Dornan, 32, received any backend compensation on the first film, according to sources.

Johnson and Dornan are going to follow in Jennifer Lawrence footsteps when it comes time for renegotiations.

Though the two leads probably are six months away from any renegotiations, insiders say they’ll take a page from the Twilight stars and Jennifer Lawrence‘s Hunger Games deal as a jumping-off point (Lawrence landed a $10 million payday for Catching Fire — a significant bump from her $500,000 Hunger Games salary).

Fifty Shades producer Dana Brunetti pointed out that this movie was going to launch the careers of the leading stars. “That was the great thing about this film — we knew we were going to be able to make stars,” he says. “Now it’s their opportunity to get paid on other projects. It’s been a breakout role for both of them. I’m sure they are getting tons of offers on other things.” Now he is going to pay the price for making them famous.

Reality Star Testifies Under Oath that Reality Shows are Fake

Reality star testifies under oath that reality shows are not real.

While we have all suspected that reality shows may not be telling the truth but now we have proof. Love & Hip HOp Atlanta star Joseline Hernandez recently revealed details about the reality show in a court deposition.

Love-Hip-Hop-Atlanta-Season-2-Worst-And-Best-DressedJoselineHernandez

Currently, Joseline Hernandez is being sued for attacking her co-star Althea Ealton during the show’s most recent reunion. According to TMZ, here’s what Hernandez said regarding the reality content of her reality show:

With reality TV, it’s mostly…it’s called ‘reality,’ but it’s a lot of acting in the reality world. And I say that because a lot of the girls that’s on the show, they act. And so, it’s a lot of acting in a reality TV show, whether it’s Love & Hip Hop or another show…The reality TV show showcases a lot of who we are not, and I say that because it’s just like, you never know what happens in a reality TV, you know? I mean, they’ll showcase your music, they’ll showcase certain things, but that’s not who Joseline Hernandez is.

It looks like Love & Hip Hop is nothing more than an improv show. What’s next, the Bachelor is all lies?

Michonne fans are furious over Rick’s new love interest on ‘The Walking Dead’.

In the latest episode of The Walking Dead, Rick Grimes started hitting on one of Alexandria’s residents, Jessie Anderson played by Alexandra Breckenridge. Which is probably foreshadowing that Rick will probably kill off Jessie’s husband, but that’s another story.

Evidently, people were not too impressed with Rick’s new love interest. According to the comic book series, Michonne and Rick are supposed to be a couple. But, producers decided to pull the plug on that idea and people went crazy. Following the episode #Richonne went viral with people complaining about Rick’s new girlfriend.

4 Acting Tips To Make You a Better Actor

0

Why Actors Should Use Auditions to Scope Out Producers and Casting Directors

Finding the right production company to work with can be just as crucial to your acting career as the performance you do. So, the next time you have an audition, check out the production offices, casting directors and people you come in contact with as you walk through the door to get an idea of what working there might be like.

Summary:

  1. Don’t solely focus on your acting abilities
  2. Look around at your surroundings
  3. Check the mood of the office
  4. Do you want to work here?

When most people go in for an audition, they tend to focus on their acting abilities and impressing the casting directors. Casting directors assume the same thing, so they are not paying attention to being on their best behavior. That means when you walk through the audition room where you’re probably getting a glimpse of what it will be like to work on the set of the project.

So it’s a pretty good time to examine the company and see what they are all about.

Pay attention to how organized or chaotic business is conducted, and the mental/emotional state of the employees. Is everyone frazzled? Depressed? Lethargic? Angry? What kinds of comments are being exchanged, and in what tone?

The mood of an office during “business as usual” is a good indicator of what you’ll be experiencing if you’re hired. During your audition, notice whether you’re being given the director’s full attention and interest. Do they seem interested and engaged in what you’re saying?

It may be unfair to judge a producer, casting director or director solely based on a five-minute experience, but it’s also the one chance you might get to see what work is like before you head to set. Of course, you should always ask questions, if you are given the role. But, remember to evaluate your surroundings to understand what’s best for you – actors are only as good as their last project. 10 Die in Helicopter Crash During Filming of Reality TV Show

During the filming a French reality show, Dropped, ten people died when two helicopters collided, according to reports.

Dropped is an adventure reality show that follows eight sports stars who are blindfolded and ropped in rough environments with nothing but water and a GPS. The shooting of the show started in February in Ushuaia and Patagonia.  The crash left no survivors and occurred in the mountains of Argentina.

Dropped Reality Show

Among the 10 people who died were high-profile French athletes: champion sailor Florence Arthaud, boxer Alexis Vastine et Olympic Gold medalist swimmer Camille Muffat. The other victims were the show’s director Laurent Sbasnik, two French journalists Lucie Mei-Dalby and Volodia Guinard, the production’s doctor Edouard Gilles and Brice Guilbert, as well as the two Argentinean pilots. [Variety]

This filming accident comes just hours after ‘Midnight Rider’ director was sentenced to 10 years for the involuntary manslaughter of camera assistant Sarah Jones. But, this is not the first time someone died on a French reality show. In 2014, production company, TF1, had to shut down production of Koh-Lanta, a French version of Survivor, because a contestant died during filming in Cambodia and the show’s doctor committed suicide.
