Did you hate G.I. Joe? Don’t worry, Channing Tatum hates the movie too.

In a recent interview with Howard Stern on his SiriusXM radioshow Tuesday morning, Channing Tatum revealed that he wasn’t a fan of one of his first big leading acting roles, “G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra.” He said a contract with Paramount forced him to do the movie, and he hates thinking about working on the “G.I. Joe” movie.

“Look, I’ll be honest. I f–king hate that movie. I hate that movie,” Tatum said of the 2009 tentpole. “I was pushed into doing that movie … [After] ‘Coach Carter,’ they signed me for a three-picture deal … And as a young [actor], you’re like, ‘Oh my god, that sounds amazing, I’m doing that!’”

Channing Tatum revealed, however, that as he got older and wanted to do other movie roles, the studio called him about doing “G.I. Joe,” and even then, he wasn’t crazy about working on the movie. Tatum said he was a huge fan of the soldier growing up, and didn’t want to ruin the character. “The script wasn’t any good,” Tatum went on. “I didn’t want to do something that I thought was 1) bad, and 2) I just didn’t know if I wanted to be G.I. Joe.”

“G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra” would later make $302 million worldwide, and received mixed reviews by critics.

But, Channing Tatum is glad he landed that role.

“I could have been given… I don’t know, ‘Scream 5,’” he said. “I’m super lucky and blessed to have been given that film. That was really not all that bad. [But you have] no option. ‘You’re doing this or we’re gonna sue you.’”

Fox’s ‘Empire‘ had a tough time casting celebrities for the TV series.

At a recent Writers Guild America West panel, writers of ‘Empire’ sat down and discussed the past and future of America’s most watched new TV series. During the panel, ‘Empire’ writers pointed out how several celebrities would agree to appear on an episode but, would later quit on the day of filming.

As great as it was to have celebrities cameo on “Empire,” the panelists revealed some headaches when stars bailed after they had already written storylines for them. “Last season we got passed on a lot, and then people said that they would do the show and not show up the day before, or the day of,” Strong divulged.

If it were not for Cuba Gooding Jr., one day of filming could have been ruined.

Strong said that Cuba Gooding Jr. did a favor for Daniels when he filled in for a famous guest star at the last minute, playing Puma, a songwriter and friend of Cookie’s. But with the show’s success, finding guest stars has been a lot easier.

But, ever since the first season, ‘Empire’ has had hundreds of requests by major celebrities to appear on the TV series.

“Empire” has received more incoming calls than ever, according to Strong. “A lot of people want to be in the show, but it’s a balance of making the show feel real and not let the stunt-casting overwhelm it; at the same time, the stunt-casting is completely organic in the world of musical superstars.”

‘Empire’ centers around a hip hop music and entertainment company, Empire Entertainment, and the drama among the members of the founders’ family as they fight for control of the company. The hour-long family drama was created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong, and stars Terrence Howardand Taraji P. Henson.

NBC has just pulled the plug on ‘Hannibal‘ after three seasons.

‘Hannibal’ will never see the light of day again, according to NBC.

According to reports, ‘Hannibal’ will air their last 13 episodes and airing their series finale on August 27th.

‘Hannibal’ was created by Bryan Fuller and first aired in spring 2013. ‘Hannibal’ featured Hugh Dancy, Laurence Fishburne, Caroline Dhavernas, Gillian Anderson and Mads Mikkelsen as Dr. Hannibal Lecter.

“We have been tremendously proud of ‘Hannibal’ over its three seasons,” the network announced in a statement. “Bryan and his team of writers and producers, as well as our incredible actors, have brought a visual palette of storytelling that has been second to none in all of television — broadcast or cable. We thank Gaumont and everyone involved in the show for their tireless efforts that have made ‘Hannibal’ an incredible experience for audiences around the world.”

In addition, the creator commented on ‘Hannibal’s cancellation.“NBC has allowed us to craft a television series that no other broadcast network would have dared, and kept us on the air for three seasons despite Cancellation Bear Chow ratings and images that would have shredded the eyeballs of lesser Standards & Practices enforcers. (NBC entertainment president) Jen Salke and her team have been fantastic partners and creatively supportive beyond measure. ‘Hannibal’ is finishing his last course at NBC’s table this summer, but a hungry cannibal can always dine again. And personally, I look forward to my next meal with NBC.”

But, why did NBC cancel Hannibal? Well, frankly nobody watched the show. ‘Hannibal’s ratings hit a series low 0.5 rating in the key demographic and ultimately 1.65 million viewers overall.

However, this doesn’t stop people from trying to bring the show back from the dead. 

Hannibal fans, aka “fannibals” as they are called, are trying really hard to get their show back on the air. There’s already a petition on Change.org for NBC to renew the show.

New Pirate TV service, cCloud TV has over 500 free TV channels for people to stream HBO, ESPN, and many other programs for free.

The biggest issue for cord cutters nowadays is the fact that there isn’t a live TV service outside of cable or satellite. In fact, by eliminating your standard pay TV subscription only gives you the opportunity to watch shows on Netflix and Hulu, which are great solutions only for streaming TV shows and old movies. But with only a few exceptions, there are very few options to watch live broadcasts.

Now, however, there’s a pirate TV serivice that’s trying to change the game – and as of Monday, their are over 500 channels of free streaming content including HBO.

CCloud TV allows for people to stream pay TV channels including HBO, ESPN, AMC, TBS, Showtime and more to their computers, smartphones, and other devices. The pirate TV service has faced challenges in the past, but developers have re-released their product with a brand new attitude.

The team of developers behind cCloud TV confirmed to BGR on Monday morning that the service is now home to more than 500 channels. While the exact number of streaming TV feeds fluctuates as old streams are taken offline and new ones are added, cCloud TV was home to more than 540 different channels at the time of this writing.

In other words, cCloud TV now offers more channels than many pay TV packages.

Not all channels on cCloud TV are pirated cable and satellite TV channels. For example, the site has added several premium commercial-free radio stations as well as a number of movie channels. Hundreds of pay TV channels are available as well, and the cCloud TV team continues to add new features and support for new devices. [BGR]

cCloud TV is also working on a cloud-based DVR service, which is going to be an amazing feature for people interested in free cable.

Here’s the reason why Clint Eastwood never gave his son a role on any of his movies including ‘American Sniper’

You would think that the son of a major director and actor like Clint Eastwood would have an easy path to success and fortune. However, Clint Eastwood made sure that he had to earn it, and that is something his son Scott Eastwood is thankful for.

Scott Eastwood recently starred in his first leading role in the upcoming Nicholas Sparks movie, “The Longest Road,” but before that, he was turned down for a role in his father’s Academy Award nominated movie, “American Sniper”.

That’s right — Clint himself turned his own son down. The younger Eastwood told The Independent UK:

“I auditioned for American Sniper and didn’t get a role. But it was actually perfect…I would have loved to have been part of American Sniper but then I wouldn’t have the opportunity to do this film.”

Eastwood the younger has been turned down before by his father for film roles, and he understands why:

“If people knew the truth about my dad, they would be like, ‘Wait? What?’ The truth is he’s very old school, there are no hand-outs. It’s the opposite.”

He explains that his father wanted to instill him with a sense of self-sufficiency:

“It’s so funny because my dad was like: ‘Go get a job. Go figure it out. You want to be an actor, go for it but you better get a day job because that doesn’t pay the bills.’”

Until recently, Scott Eastwood did not have much success in Hollywood. He landed small roles in various films, but he also worked on several construction and bartending between auditions.

But his famous father’s message of hard work and perseverance appears to have paid off, especially since he landed a role in the film The Longest Ride:

“My dad always says, ‘Just stick around.’ Everybody thinks it’s an overnight success. But the reality is, it takes years of hard work.”
