‘The Ring 3’ Has Been Pushed Back Indefinitely Until 2016

0

Rings release date has been pushed back until 2016

When a movie gets pushed back it is usually not a good sign. Either studio executives think the movie is not good enough to face off against other bigger productions, or excutives think it’s just not that good of a movie. Either way, it’s not a good look. Unfortunately, the Atlanta filmed Ring reboot, The Ring 3, was pushed back, according to TheWrap.

The third sequel to the Ring franchise has been pushed back from Nov. 13th to an unspecified date in 2016. Rings is directed by F. Javier Gutierrez and stars John Galecki, Matilda Lutz and Alex Roe. It was previously titled The Ring 3D and would make the return of the franchise 10 years after the original movie hit theaters 10 years ago, which earned $129 million in the United States alone.

The Ring 3, which is titled Rings, has been scheduled to open against Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s drama By the Sea, and the Warner Bros. Chilean miner drama The 33, and the family comedy Love the Coopers.

But, this is not the first movie to get pushed back. Adam McKay’s adaptation of Michael Lewis’s best seller, The Big Short, which filmed in New Orleans several months ago, was also pushed back. And, Bad Robot productions Star Trek Beyond was pushed back two weeks from July 8, 2016 to July 22, 2016.

How Much Hollywood Crew and Actors Get Paid

0

Here are the Hollywood pay salaries for some of the biggest jobs in Hollywood.

The biggest thing that attracts actors to the film industry is the pay check. And honestly, why not, especially when A-list actors such as Robert Downey Jr. bring home $50 million per year, it is hard not to drop all other career aspirations and focus on becoming an actor. But, how much do actors really get paid?

In a study by The Hollywood Reporter, reports broke down how much TV stars, movie stars to background extras actually get paid and it’s pretty surprising.

According to the report, unknown TV actors earn between $15,000 to $20,000 per episode. However, experienced actors can bring home between $75,000 to $100,000 an episode. Typically, after each season an actor can expect a raise of about 4%. For example, James Spader on The Blacklist earned $160,000 per episode meanwhile Jeff Garlin made $84,000 per episode on season two of The Goldbergs. But, TV actors make even more money in contract negotiations. For instance, the cast of The Big Bang Theory earn a whopping $1 million an episode.

But, what about movie actors? How much can an actor expect o make as a movie actor? Well, it’s pretty damn good if you’re an A-list actor. A-list actors earn between $5 million and $20 million. For instance, Denzel Washington earned $20 million upfront for working on The Equalizer meanwhile, Meryl Streep earned $5 million on the box office flop Ricki and the Flash. But, supporting actors don’t early nearly as much, Kevin Kline only earned $350,000 for his major role in Ricki.

But, what about all the background actors or what producers like to call moving furniture? Well if you live in Hollywood, then good news you earn about $150/day. But, if you’re an actor in Atlanta or southeast, expect to earn $64/day.

Either way working in Hollywood has it’s perks when you are a big deal. But, while you are working on the bottom, it is not all that it’s cracked up to be. Especially when the craft services earns $1,200 a week.

Here is a full list and breakdown of Hollywood salaries.

Studio Tour guide – $26/Hours

TV Actor – $15,000 to $20,000/episode

Film Writer – $1 million/script

Craft services – $1,200/week

Cell Phone Use Can Increase Levels of Depression

0

Cell phone use aka phubbing is ruining relationships and making people more depressed according to a new study.

Have you ever phubbed? You know when you snub your partner by checking your phone during your date? Or leaving your iPhone out within reach while you are hanging out with your significant other? Now two researchers say there’s strong evidence that your phubbing is wrecking your relationship and it is actually making you depressed.

The word phubbing became popular in the UK a few years ago, shortly after a group at the University of Sydney created a “Stop Phubbing” PSA campaign. The word comes from “phoning” and “snubbing” never seemed to hit the US, despite the fact that people all over the world phub. Maybe US accents make it sounds awful or it’s too similar to the popular pornography website, Porn Hub.

Either way, it seems like it caught the attention of US academics. In a recent paper published in Computers in Human Behavior, Baylor University business professors James Roberts and Meredith David did a series of tests and surveys to determine whether p-phubbing (partner phubbing) was an actual thing and how it impacts relationships? Roberts and David polled over 150 men and women who were in relationships asking them the following questions about the phubbing experiences.

1. During a typical mealtime that my partner and I spend together,my partner pulls out and checks his/her cell phone.

2. My partner places his or her cell phone where they can see it when we are together.

3. My partner keeps his or her cell phone in their hand when he or she is with me.

4. When my partner’s cell phone rings or beeps, he/she pulls it out even if we are in the middle of a conversation.

5. My partner glances at his/her cell phone when talking to me.

6. During leisure time that my partner and I are able to spend together, my partner uses his/her cell phone.

7. My partner does not use his or her phone when we are talking.

8. My partner uses his or her cell phone when we are out together.

9. If there is a lull in our conversation, my partner will check his or her cell phone.

Then they gave their subjects some other tests, to measure their relationship types and happiness levels. What Roberts and David found probably comes as no surprise to anyone who has argued with their significant other who can’t stop looking at their phone when you are talking talk to them. They found that people who have “anxious”attachment types in relationships, such as people who fear they are being ignored or abandonded, react more strongly when their partner uses a cell phone. In addition, they found that theres’s a strong correlation between phubbing and conflicts over cell phones.

Ultimately, they argued that people who experience the most phubbing in their relationships also tend to have more arguments, which leads to general unhappiness in their lives. So cell phone use has an indirect effect on happiness.

Of course, we don’t know what is actually causing this to happen. Remember, correlation does not equate to causation. Roberts and David admit that it’s possible that people who are generally unhappy in their relationship are more likely to use their cell phone more and engage in p-phubbing. And p-phubbing may increase as relationships move from their honeymoon phase to a regular mundane partnership. But, they point out that “the institution of marriage (and romantic relationships in general) is under attack” from cell phone use and p-phubbing.

That’s right go ahead and blame Facebook, Twitter, Apple, and Andriod for your bad relationship. Lord knows, divorce attorneys are happy to help you with your struggling marriage.

‘Leavey’ starring Kate Mara open casting call for extras in Charleston, South Carolina

‘Leavey’ starring Kate Mara (Fantastic Four, House of Cards) is now casting background extras and photo doubles to work on the new feature film as it films in Charleston, South Carolina.

The movie tittled, “Megan Leavey” is Cowperthwaite’s follow up to her critically acclaimed documentary film “Blackfish,” which explored  the death of a SeaWorld trainer who was killed by an orca in 2010. She will direct the movie from a script written by Pamela Gray.

The movie centers around the true story of Leavey, a young Marine who turned her life around by enlisting in the K9 unit. There, she was teamed up with an aggressive combat dog named Rex. The two form a bond and were deployed to Iraq as an elite bomb sniffing team. Together they serve two tours of duty and complete more than 100 missions, saving hundreds of lives.

After she was wounded in combat, for which she receives a Purple Heart, Megan was forced to retire. She spent the next five years waiting to adopt Rex, who remained on active duty. When he ended on an euthanized list, Megan geared up for the fight of her life to bring the 11-year old German Shepherd home.

Cowperthwaite said: “This is a side of war that we don’t hear about. It is unbelievable what these two went through. It is an honor to be able to tell their story.”

Ratings Finally Increase on ‘Fear the Walking Dead’

0

Ratings for Fear the Walking Dead finally increase after several disappointing weeks.

After seeing the overnight rating declines of nearly 20 percent after the first episode, 12 percent after the second episode, and after losing another 500,000 viewers between its third and fourth episode, there is finally some good news for Fear The Walking Dead fans.

The most encouraging sign is that, without competition from the Emmys, the ratings for The Walking Dead spin-off have finally reached a tipping point. While the pilot episode shattered cable records with over 10.1 million overnight viewers, the fifth episode had fallen to 6.66 million viewers.  While that’s obviously discouraging, it is actually up from last week’s episode. More importantly, with competition with new network TV shows, Fear the Walking Dead still managed to easily hold on to the lead time slot for the powerful 18-49 demographic. The 3.6 rating in the key demo was better thanFamily Guy’s 1.5, the 1.4 of Blood & Oil and the 1.8 of the two-hour series finale of CSI.

Once DVR viewers are accounted for Fear the Walking’s ratings will probably skyrocket. After the third episode ratings jumped from 7.1 million to 11.5 million.

But, it is important to point out that the ratings for the third episode of Fear the Walking Dead were twice what the ratings were for the third episode of The Walking Dead, though it wasn’t quite as big as the series has since become.

Ultimately, Fear The Walking Dead may not be as big as the original Walking Dead series but, it is still a force to mess with on Sunday nights.

Matt Damon: It Was “Painful” To Be Ben Affleck’s Friend When He Was Dating J. LO

0

Matt Damon says it was painful to be Ben Affleck’s friend while he was dating Jennifer Lopez.

Matt Damon has a lot to say about everyone and everything lately. Having already touched on homosexuality in Hollywood and diversity in filmmaking, he’s now moving onto interracial relationships with Ben Affleck’s former relationship with Jennifer Lopez. How cute.

Via US Weekly:

“There’s nobody who’s more misunderstood,” the Martian actor, 44, said of his old pal. “Ten years ago, the public image of him could not have been farther apart from who he actually is. It was like he was being cast in a role, that he was a talentless kind of meathead, with his whole relationship with Jennifer Lopez.”

[…]

“He just got cast as this person that he wasn’t,” Damon said of Affleck, 43, when he was with J.Lo, now 46. “It was just really painful. It was painful to be his friend, because it wasn’t fair, you know? To my mind, nobody really got him at all.”

After these last few weeks, I am not surprised.

HBO Blames Casting Directors for “Genital-to-Genital” Touching Controversy

0

HBO  blames casting directors for the “genital-to-genital” Westworld touching fiasco.

SAG-AFTRA has announced HBO didn’t violate any union rules, following allegations that the upcoming series Westworld violated those regulations by requiring extras to be nude and participate in “graphic sexual situations”.

A SAG-AFTRA spokesperson issued a statement Wednesday afternoon after HBO announced they were rectifying the document signed by background actors.

“SAG-AFTRA sent the consent form to HBO yesterday afternoon and requested that the document be changed to more accurately reflect the contractual provisions,” the statement said. “HBO had every opportunity to rectify this situation and it was only after their direct refusal to remedy this that we posted the notice on our website. The union is very pleased to hear that HBO is doing the right thing now but it is disappointing that we had to take such public measures to ensure compliance with our contracts and protect our background actors.”

Westworld HBO

Neither side has disclosed the actual provisions that HBO violated in the earlier consent form. But, in a major move, SAG-AFTRA has notified members late Tuesday that they could withdraw from the sexual scenes after the document previously disclosed that they could possibly perform “genital-to-genital touching”.

The union argued in the member alert that the set must be closed to anyone not having business with the production and that no still photographer be authorized without the consent of the background actor. It also asserted that they would have a representative on the set.

HBO’s statement on Wednesday, which was issued 15 hours after SAG-AFTRA’s warning to members, said it was revising the documenting. In fact, HBO blamed Central Casting went rogue and caused the fiasco on their own.

Central Casting

“The document that the background actors were given was created by an outside extras casting vendor,” HBO said. “It was not requested, written or approved by HBO, Warner Bros. Television, or the producers, and contains situations that we do not require of any actor. We are rectifying immediately the discrepancies in this vendor’s document with our actual on-set practices, which provide a professional and comfortable working environment for all performers.”

However, HBO refused to release the provisions of the revised document to the media and the casting company Central Casting, which is owned by Entertainment Partners has refused to comment on the issue.

HBO’s one-hour drama, inspired by the 1970s motion picture, is being called “a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin.” The new series will air in February and features Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden and Thandie Newton.

Honey Boo Boo releases a new music video and it’s pretty crazy.

The former reality star Honey Boo Boo has just released a music video that shows reality-TV has hit rock bottom. In an torturing fit of “reality stars will do anything for attention,” the disgraced reality show characters from TLC’s Here Comes Honey Boo Boo are back with a music video. It comes a year after the show, which focuses on Honey Boo Boo, an aspiring child beauty queen and her family, was cancelled due to her mother “Mama June” engaged in a relationship with a convicted sex offender.

In this video, the unfortunate 10-year-old star of the show, whose real name is Alana Thomson, is just as tragically sad as you would expect, and her musical singing are on par with what we’ve come to expect from a late-night karaoke bar.

You can go ahead and watch it all the way through, laugh, and then feel really bad about laughing because, former reality stars will do anything to stay relevant including embarrassing themselves.
