Get ready because Vanessa Williams and the gang is returning to film the new Soul Food sequel, Soul Food 2.
Growing up in the nineties there were several black movies that left a major impact in the African American culture. One of those movies was the critically acclaimed movie Soul Food. Now, according to reports, Soul Food 2 is coming soon to theaters with the original cast.
Fox 2000 has announced plans for a sequel to the hugely popular 1997 movie Soul Food. Soul Food 2 will feature George Tillman Jr, the original director of the Soul Food franchise. Tillman Jr. will work alongside Nathan Skulnik to cultivate an update to the wildly popular drama.
The 1997 drama followed the story of an African American family whose tradition of eating a big meal every Sunday helped to keep their family together. However, their bonds are broken following the death of the family’s mother.
The sequel will follow the next generation of the family as they struggle through the modern era of technology, cell phones, and social media, which they worry will create a distance between the family. The family is forced to find a balance between the modern world and the old traditions that kept their family together for so many ears.
Vanessa Williams, Vivica A. Fox, Nia Long and Mekhi Phifer starred in the original movie and are expected to return for the sequel.

Dwayne John announced on Tuesday that his French bulldog puppy, Brutus, has died after ingesting a toxic mushroom.
According to the action-movie-star, Brutus was taken off of life support at approximately 11:15 p.m. ET, as the dog’s liver and immune system were “rapidly” being destroyed “to the point of no return.”
Johnson said that the dog ate a mushroom with a “lethal toxicity” while playing outside with is other dog, Hobbs.
“I held his lil’ paw as he was finally at peace,” Johnson wrote. “We’ll always love you Brutus.. [A]nd you’ll always be my lil’ main man and rough housing Brute.”
Brutus’ death comes just weeks after Johnson saved Brutus, whom he had recently acquired with Hobbs, from drowning in his swimming pool. According to Johnson, the near-drowning occurred after he let both dogs outside “so they can start learning how to ‘handle their business and potty like big boys.’
“I set them both down and they both take off in a full sprint and fall right into the deep end of our pool,” Johnson wrote at the time, noting that Brutus sank like a brick heads-first to the bottom of the pool.
“I take off into a full sprint, fully clothed, dive in the pool, swim to the bottom, rescue my brick, I mean BRUTUS and bring him back to the edge of the pool,” Johnson recalled. “He was a little delirious. [T]ook a moment, threw up all the water he swallowed and looked up at me as if to say, ‘Thank God you didn’t have to give me mouth to mouth!’ and then ran off to play with his brother.”
Netflix and Virgin America are joining forces for free in-flight streaming.

Have you ever wanted to binge-watch all of your favorite TV shows or old episodes of House of Cards that you may have missed but you are stuck on a 5 hour flight with no access to Netflix? Well, thanks to this new deal with Virgin America and Netflix now you can.
In-flight WiFi tends to be pretty crappy, unstable, and horribly slow. Most airlines, in fact, block streaming video completely. According to Forbes, the reasons behind this are pretty reasonable, “Airplanes rely on expensive and slow Internet-via-satellite connections that they then have to share to several dozen cranky, bored passengers. Streaming video takes far more bandwidth than, say, updating a Facebook post. It’s a numbers game, and the services that hog the most data are the first to go.”

But, thanks to Virgin Airlines new type of satellite-based Internet connection that means the company will be able to provide passengers with a streaming video. In fact, Virgin explicitly states in its press release that the new tech can support streaming and that’s where the Netflix new Virgin partnership comes in with an awesome offer. Free in-flight WiFi for subscribers.
Some streaming video services, like Amazon Prime, do allow you to download episodes for a short period of time in case you face a time period where you cannot connect to the Internet. But, downloading an entire series on to your tablet is nearly impossible.
Netflix, however, has maintained that they will never allow for this type of downloading, as it believes that given access to WiFi at all times it wouldn’t be required. And Netflix is pretty much correct. Being thousands of feet in the air and still having the ability to connect to the Internet pretty much illustrates the need for faster Internet not the ability to download episodes.
So, if you are wanting to stay on top of all the new episodes of The Blacklist, House of Cards or Orange is the New Black hop on a Virgin Airlines flight, they are Netflix enabled.

After the Game of Thronesseries finale, HBO will make a Game of Thrones movie.
Author George R.R. Martin has just revealed that a Game of Thrones movie is coming soon.
George R.R. Martin created the books on which the hit TV drama series is based, he also wrote a number of episodes for the show and currently acts as the co-executive producer. But, now the writer can add a whistleblower to his resume. Martin has now revealed that Game of Thrones will continue on the big screen once the show finishes, but he will not be involved in the project because he is too busy working on the remaining books.
He tells Ibnlive.com, “There will be a movie but I will not be involved. I have too much to do. That is something HBO and (executive producers) DB (D.B. Weiss) and David (Benioff) are dealing with. I have two more books to finish and I still have so much to do. The pressure is on. I am such a slow writer and the fans get upset that I don’t write faster.”

Game of Thrones is set on the fictional worlds of Westeros and Essos as the show interweaves several plot lines with a broad cast. Game of Thrones has broken several record number of viewers on HBO and obtained an exceptional broad and highly actively international fan base. Game of Thrones has also been praised by critics despite frequent use of nudity, sexual assault, and violence. Game of Thrones has so far won 26 Emmy Awards including Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series in 2015—when it set a record for most wins for a series in a single year—and numerous other awards and nominations, including three Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, a Peabody Award and two Golden Globe Award nominations. From among the ensemble cast,Peter Dinklage won two Emmys and a Golden Globe for his performance as Tyrion Lannister.
It is too soon to say what the Game of Thrones movie will be about. The Game of Thrones tends to follow the storylines set out in A Song of Ice and Fire set in the fictional Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. But, the movie will most likely follow the the violent struggles for power and control of the Iron Throne.
Reports suggest Game of Thrones will end after eight seasons.

As far as Netflix new movies and TV shows in October go, one major production stands out: Beasts of No Nation, the movie that nearly killed Idris Elba and the director. Also, the movie analysts are calling a major game-changer from the days of going to the movie to the ability to watch new releases from home.
But, there are also several other TV shows being added to Netflix including The Nightmare, Room 237, and Batman Begins.
Documentaries on Richard Pryor and Robin Williams will also highlight on two famous comics and their rise to Hollywood’s Hall of Fame.
Superhero fans can also enjoy new seasons of The Flash and Arrow, as well as several new horror movies for the upcoming Halloween season.

Cary Fukunaga, director of the acclaimed True Detective‘s first season, directs the movie that centers around a young boy that assimilates himself into the West African military. Daughter of actor Paul Walker sues Porsche for father’s “wrongful death”
Meadow Walker alleges the car the Fast & Furious star was a passenger in when he was killed in Santa Clarita in November 2013 had numerous design defects.
The daughter of the actor Paul Walker, who died when a Porsche he was in crashed in California over two years ago, filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the car company in Los Angeles on Monday, according to court records.
Meadow Walker alleged in the complaint that the carmaker had overlooked safety features which could have either prevented the crash or at least kept Paul Walker alive.
Paul Walker was a passenger in the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT driven by Roger Rodas, who lost control before it crashed into trees and a power pole in Santa Clarita, north-west of Los Angeles, killing both men in November 2013.
The lawsuit said Porsche knew the car model had a long “history of instability and control issues” and that the seat belts were designed such that in a crash the shoulder belt anchor would be pulled along with the rear engine compartment while the seat anchor would remain in place.
“This snapped Walker’s torso back with thousands of pounds of force, thereby breaking his ribs and pelvis, flattening his seat and trapping him in a supine position, where he remained alive until the vehicle erupted into flames one minute and 20 seconds later,” the filing said.
“Absent these defects in the Porsche Carrera GT, Paul Walker would be alive today.”
Attorneys for the German car company said in April that Rodas was to blame for the crash after a lawsuit filed by his widow agains the company’s north American unit last year.
Attorneys for the company had then denied that the car had any major defects or problems.
Paul Walker’s death at the age of 40 led to a temporary halt in production of Furious 7, the latest movie in the franchise about illegal car racing which launched his career.
The Los Angeles Times has reported that the Los Angeles county sheriff’s department and California highway patrol found that unsafe speeds were to blame for the crash and not mechanical problems. The newspaper said investigator made the determination after consulting with technicians from Porsche, which could reveal confirmation bias.

Versace is one of the most well-known brands in the world. Their Italian clothing line was first founded by Gianni Versace in 1978 and opened in Milan’s Via della Spiga in 1978. By 1994, the brand gained international coverage due to the “Black Versace dress of Elizabeth Hurley,” which was famously referred to as “that dress.”
After the death of Gianni Versace in 1997, his sister Donatella Versace, took over as creative director and his brother Santo Versace became the CEO. Then by 2000, the “green Versace dress”worn by Jennifer Lopez at the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards helped place Versace as one of the most iconic designers of all time and ranked that particular dress as the “fifth most iconic dress of all time” in 2008, by the Daily Telegraph.

Here are his tips to becoming a model for Versace.
What is the first thing you notice about a model when you meet her?
How much self-confidence she has, the way she moves, her eye contact and gaze. Personality is the key.
When it comes to Versace—a label that is so associated with models—what do you look for in terms of women?
Femininity—not the commercial and vulgar variant, but something sophisticated and powerful. Versace is a brand that makes women feel confident and sexy. Since we started working with them, we have been working in two different directions: finding the new Versace girls and inviting some iconic women back to the runway. All of them love walking in Versace because they feel sexy and beautiful and because Donatella has an unbelievable energy.

Del Moro also explained what it is like to be a casting director for major fashion brand. He points out that there are a lot of misconceptions in the industry. “Let’s put it this way: It took two years to explain to my father why clients use casting directors. He’d say, “Why do they need you to pick a model? Don’t they have taste?” A good casting director has knowledge of both fashion and each model’s history. To be successful you need to understand branding and translating a client’s vision.”

Actors reveal their craziest and worst audition stories
When a casting call is posted actors have to go through thousands of submissions to find the perfect actor for the production. Sometimes, actors make mistakes, or casting directors ask off the wall questions. In a recent Playbill.com series Cue and A reporters asked actors, what was their craziest audition stories and some of them are completely insane.
One actor was insulted for the way they looked.

I sang (pretty damn well if memory serves) “Anthem” at an audition, and a very well-known casting director completely dismissed me by asking if I studied singing, and that if I didn’t, I should. Then he insulted the way I looked, and that was that.
How about being told to pretend you were blind for no reason at all?
Being asked to play the scene as if I were blind, for no reason whatsoever. And yet I still had to read from the script, as I hadn’t been told to memorize it. Maddening.
Or, tearing your pants in the middle of your audition?

I ripped my pants auditioning for American Idiot. I was in full punk rock gear and gave everything I had, I got back in the waiting room after and looked down… the crotch had ripped. Best part: I wasn’t wearing underwear.
How about completely insane stage directions?

For an indie horror film. The director: “The demon enters your soul, he starts to take over and then you speak in tongues and the rains come. Drenched and screaming, you struggle with him- who is yourself- but he wins and the life goes out of you, and then slide down the wall and die. Okay, whenever you’re ready.” (No, I didn’t book it).

STOP copying and pasting that “copyright” Facebook post. It is pointless and you are wasting your time.
The annual ritual of everyone you know sharing a meaningless copyright disclaimer on Facebook has begun again. Recently, you might have seen several Facebook Statuses telling you post legal language that protects your photographs and other information from copyright violations.
Don’t waste your time. It doesn’t work, and similar versions of the hoax have been repeated for years.
Facebook users are reporting a recent surge in the posts that look similar to the following:

The latest hoax claims Facebook is planning to charge a fee to keep your “private” data private. This is not true. If Facebook changes the terms of its relationship with you, its user/product, it is required to inform you so that you have the opportunity to decline the changes. Not by posting a Facebook, but by quitting the site.
This is not the first time this has happened. Typically, the notices all tend to sound the same with official-sounding jargon and legal references that users are unlikely to verify, following a demand that others post the same status on their own accounts. The claims have been thoroughly debunked.
In short, your legal rights are determined not by any status you post, but by the social network’s Terms of Service, which all users agreed to upon creating an account. Information about how Facebook uses your information is available there and in the network’s data policy.
If you are concerned about privacy, you can adjust your settings by tapping on “More” and “Privacy Shortcuts” in the mobile apps, or, on a desktop, clicking on the lock near the far right of the blue bar at the top of the screen.
TomorrowWorld is now labeled the music festival “from hell”.
Thousands of festival-goers were left stranded at TomorrowWorld and forced to sleep on top of cars and in wet muddy grass.
Organizers of the event offered refunds for Sunday’s ticket holders as the bad weather made the last day of the three-day EDM festival inaccessible.
But those who tried to leave after Saturday night’s closing set were left waiting in the rain for hours as poor planning led to traffic congestion around the festival site outside of Atlanta, Georgia.
The festival was only accessible to visitors in the DreamVille on-site camping area after heavy rain shut down drop-off locations and shuttle bus systems.
According to Mashable.com, people were unable to escape the TomorrowLand 8,000 acre site because organizes prevented cabs, Uber cars, and shuttle buses from approaching pick-up locations. Ultimately, poor preparation by organizers meant those who were not camping on site were left with no food water or shelter.
Many took to Facebook and Twitter to report their hellish experience as they were left with no other options but to walk miles in order to find another way to get home or to sleep in the muddy fields.
In addition, there were allegations that girls were left stranded on the side of the road sexually assaulted.
One Twitter user said: ‘@TomorrowWorld Nice going charging VIP price and offering the homeless experience. Thousands of people sleeping on the road. #NotMagical’
Another added: ‘People of @TomorrowWorld stranded sitting for hours waiting for shuttles/uber some even sleeping in the mud.
Some posted pictures and memes of the nightmarish situation to a Facebook group that sprung up in light of the problems, called “TomorrowWorld 2015 Sucks.”
Sarah Gray said: ‘I saw golf carts flipped over, others trying to push wheelchairs through the mud, people throwing up, and much more.
She added: ‘Worst experience ever.’
The festival was expected to bring over 180,000 visitors to the Georgia hillside but only 40,000 campers remained on the grounds to watch the last day’s performances, Mashable reported.
TomorrowWorld organizes said Sunday
will be refunded entirely and automatically, including service, shipping and payment fees, AP reported.
Single-day tickets cost $145, according to TomorrowWorld’s website.
A statement to visitors on the website said the following:
‘First of all we would like to sincerely apologize for the inconveniences due to the weather conditions and to all who couldn’t be part of the 3rd day of TomorrowWorld 2015.
‘Continuous and unexpected rainfall over the last three days has severely limited capacity of the parking lots, entrance roads, and drop off locations in and around the festival site, and has led to severe traffic congestion.
‘The experience and safety of the TomorrowWorld visitors is and always was our top priority.’
In a statement, Tom Reed, the mayor of Chattahoochee Hills, commented on the TomorrowWorld fiasco.
‘While the rain (compounded by serious promoter communication issues and transportation vendor failures) has obviously caused a mess, with serious parking and access issues, our Public Safety teams and their partners have been working tirelessly to maintain safety. Attendees are now continuing to safely (if slowly) leave the site.
‘We have been in constant communication with the TomorrowWorld folks – once the load out procedure is completed, cleanup inside (and more importantly OUTSIDE) of the festival grounds will be a top priority.
‘Our top priority now is ensuring that folks get home safely now that the festival has ended.’
He added: ‘A dissection of what went wrong, and a process to ensure it does not happen again, will follow.’
Erik Roner, a cast member on MTV’s Nitro Circus, was killed on Monday in a fatal skydiving accident. He was only 39.
Roner was part of a three-man parachute jump team performing at the 4th Annual Squaw Valley Institute Celebrity Golf Classic in Squaw Valley, California.
At the time of the accident he “was off the drop zone target on descent and hit a large treet,” Nitro Circus said in a statement.
Erik Roner, who the AP reports was pronounced dead at the scene, is survived by his wife and two children.
Placer County Sheriff’s Capt. Dennis Walsh told the Associated Press an investigation into his death has been opened, and the Federal Aviation Administration has been notified of his death.
“Erik was an amazing person who made everyone and everything around him better,” Pastrana said in a statement released by Nitro Circus. “His smile, laughter and personality will be missed by everyone at Nitro Circus. Most importantly he has a beautiful wife and amazing kids that will miss him dearly. He is gone… But will never be forgotten.”
