About Villa Capri:

Written and directed by Ron Shelton (“Bull Durham,” “White Men Can’t Jump”) the film stars Tommy Lee Jones as a former FBI agent who teams up with Morgan Freeman who plays an attorney, in the witness protection program to fend off a mob hit in their upscale retirement community. Early reports say the action comedy is in the vein of the 1988 hit comedy “Midnight Run.” According to The Hollywood Reporter Sierra/Affinity will debut the film at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, multi-national distribution rights already secured by eOne with domestic rights going to CAA. “Villa Capri” is currently in pre-production here in New Mexico with a start date scheduled for the middle of this month. The film is expected to wrap by September 26.

‘Making a Murderer’ Fans Discover New Evidence

Making a Murder fans discover new evidence that may set Steven Avery free.

Binge-watching can immerse you into not a new world of mystery, adventure and suspense. But, after a show or series comes to end, the adventure usually ends right there. But not for these Making a Murderer fans. Just because you spent over 10 hours of your life watching a true crime documentary, doesn’t make you a hardcore fan. These fans were so disturbed by the series they decided to investigate the Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey trial. Fans meticulously went through every transcript and photo from the investigation and found something pretty incredible.

The latest discovery comes from this group following an analysis of the bone fragments pulled from the fire pit prosecutors accuse Steven Avery of using to burn Teresa Halbach’s body. During his trial, they claimed his backyard bonfire was so hot that it obliterated her remains, leaving nothing but tiny bone fragments without any DNA left. However, when fans took a close look at the “human” fragments collected, one particular bone fragment stood out. One bone fragment is clearly from a bird.

Therefore the claims from the defense that Steven Avery’s burn pit was regulary used to get rid of deer, rodents, and bird remains from hunting were probably true.

But it begs the question – how many of the bone fragments collected and attributed to Halbach were just burnt animal remains. In addition, it makes you wonder how a fire could be so powerful that it could turn a human skeleton to ashes, yet this bird wing remain largely intact?

As with many pieces of evidence in the Making of a Murderer case, there’s a lot of controversy mixed with conspiracy surrounding the bones found at Steven Avery’s burn pit. A proper investigation was never set up. In fact, a forensic grid was never put in place, and material from the pit was placed into boxes and sifted through back at the labs. In addition, record keeping and protocols were ignored by the forensic lab, which was something Steven Avery’s defense complained about throughout the entire murder trail.

“It is unclear whether some, all, or none of the fragments had been previously determined by the state’s forensic anthropologist to be human or not. In short, the defense has no way of knowing from this cryptic report what was sent to and examined by the FBI Lab.”

Netflix is currently shooting the second season of Making a Murder, so the bone evidence may come into play as Avery’s  new attorney is working on exonerating him.

There were reports that he watched crimes on YouTube, laughed at strangers, and scared the hell out of the movie cast. In fact, Jared Leto also said that playing The Joker, transformed his life. But, did you know The Joker is based around the late singer David Bowie? Well, at least according to Leto.

“We discussed David Bowie a bit,” Leto said, referencing discussions with “a famous writer in the world of DC.”

“Not necessarily the music of David, but his class, his elegance, his timelessness,” said Leto.

The actor went on to discuss that it’s likely impossible not to draw from David Bowie in some way shape or form as an actor.

“Bowie is definitely one of the people we spoke about. And I think David Bowie is probably an inspiration for almost anything you can do creatively,” Leto said.

Netflix: ‘Would Be Dumb Not To Do ‘Stranger Things’ Season 2

Is a new season of Netflix’s Stranger Things coming soon?

The Atlanta filmed Stranger Things is a pop-culture hit. Nearly everyone I know has watched Stranger Things and loved the hit series. It definitely not what I expected a sci-fi thriller to be. But, after binge-watching the entire series, many people are wondering is a Stranger Things season 2 coming soon?

Reed Hastings stopped short of giving the official word on a renewal, but said in an interview with The Guardian, “we would be dumb not to” bring the show back.

Reed Hastings added that Netflix takes popular opinion into account when deciding what shows to reboot, remake, or create. Hastings told The Guardian that its user ratings on IMDb make it clear that fans are heavily invested in the show.

While it’s frustrating that Netflix has not announced another season of Stranger Things, as many film jobs, careers, and acting opportunities are predicated on the announcement, his comments have given creators Matt and Ross Duffer some hope that the news they have been anxiously awaiting will arrive soon. After all, the have already created a detailed plan for the show’s second season, and fans are equally as anxious as the show’s creators to see what happens next.

The creator of Black-ish says he’s “tired of talking about diversity.”

After two seasons on ABC, Black-ish creator Kenya Barris is constantly forced to answer questions about diversity. During the show’s panel at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Thursday in Beverly Hills, Barris shut down a reporter’s question about the demographics of the show’s audience say it does not matter.

“I will be so happy when diversity is not a word,” he said. “I have the best job in the world and I’m constantly having to talk about diversity. I have the best actors. It’s ridiculous … It doesn’t matter who’s watching our show.”

He later clarified by saying that he wasn’t upset by the question, but simply tired of having the same conversation about race over and over again.

According to TheWrap, Tracee Ellis Ross, responded by saying “Is that a question you’ve asked other shows that are not predominantly of a certain color?”

“I think sometimes that those questions continue the conversation in a direction that does not help,” she said.

“I have the best job,” Barris later explained, eventually sharing that the show’s audience is predominantly white, and about 23 percent black. “We get to come to work everyday and do something that’s starting a conversation.”

‘Star Wars’ TV Series Maybe Coming Soon

A Star Wars TV series maybe coming soon.

During Thursday’s Television Critics Association, ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey confirmed a rumor that the network has been talking to Lucasfilm about a possible Star Wars TV series. “As a fan, I would absolutely love to say yes,” Dungey said in response to a question about a possible Star Wars series, according to Variety. “We have had conversations, and we will continue to have conversations with Lucasfilm. It would be wonderful to extend the franchise.”

Dungey didn’t reveal too many details about the new TV show, including whether it would be a live-action series or a spinoff Star Wars series. Dungey explained, “It’s all a little hush-hush. [Lucasfilm] exists under a big shroud of secrecy.”

However, it’s important to point out that Star Wars already has an animated series, Star Wars Rebels, on Disney XD, so a new live-action series seems like the direction ABC is headed in. And to all those hardcore Star Wars fans out there, Star Wars: Underworld, set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.

But the show, about the rebellion, never worked out, though Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy said in 2015 that the company was looking at the material.

Following the success and failure of Marvel spinoff TV series, I wouldn’t be surprised to see ABC network attempt to create a TV show based on a billion dollar hit movie franchise. That being said, I’m not too sure fans would be that interested as well. That being said, Star Wars is now hiring.
