The CW is developing a new TV series based around the hit 1987 vampire series The Lost Boys. According to The Wrap, the new TV series will be written by iZombie showrunner Rob Thomas and the show will be executive produced by Danielle Stokdyk, Dan Etheridge, Mike Karz and Bill Bindley.
The original movie centered around two brothers, played by Jason Patric and Corey Haim, who fights a gang of vampires, led by Kiefer Sutherland, in Southern California.
The Lost Boys grossed over $32 million and critics loved it. Roger Ebert gave the movie two-and-a-half out of four stars, praising the cinematography and “a cast that’s good right down the line,” but ultimately describing Lost Boys as a triumph of style over substance and “an ambitious entertainment that starts out well but ends up selling its soul.” Elaine Showalter said that “the film brilliantly portrays vampirism as a metaphor for the kind of mythic male bonding that resists growing up, commitment, especially marriage.”
The new project comes after The Vampire Diaries announced their final season, which is now filming in Atlanta, Georgia.

With only 13 episodes left on HBO’s Game of Thrones, your chance for landing a role on the hit medieval drama maybe coming to an end. However, we have good news because, we reportedly have the casting call breakdown for several of the new roles casting directors are now casting for Game of Thrones season 7.
According to Winter is Coming, here are several of the casting calls the casting directors are now casting for the new season of Game of Thrones.
Priest, in his 60s. “He’s a venerable priest with moral authority and gravitas. The show is seeking a white actor, using an RP accent, with characterful face for this part. He’s scheduled to shoot one week, from September 22nd.”
Gate Guard, in his 20s. This character is a “Confident, characterful, straight-talking Northern lad with a great face to play across a very excellent series of scenes.” He needs to have “wit, timing, and charisma.” He’ll film between mid-October and mid-November.
Merchant, in his 40s. HBO wants a character actor for this part. He’ll appear at an inn (the ubiquitous Inn at the Crossroads?) during a busy evening. They’re open on his race and appearance. He’ll shoot scenes during the first week of November.
Lovely Lady. No age range is provided, but the role is described as “an attractive young courtesan who is sure of her own mind.” The role is a “good speaking part.” Again, the production is open regarding race and ethnicity. She’ll shoot for a week in early October. Oh, and the part requires full nudity.
Young Lord, in his late 20s. This guy is a tall, handsome young lord. The producers want a white actor with an RP accent. He’s shoot scenes starting September 20th.
Lieutenant, in his 20s. The lieutenant is “an athletic, physically fit, and disciplined warrior.” The producers want someone who isn’t white. It sounds like they’d prefer someone of Middle Eastern descent. He’ll shoot for several days across three weeks between mid-September and mid-November.
Warrior, 35 – 45 years old. “The character is a tough-looking bruiser with the attack skills of a pit bull, and the actor needs to be great at fighting. He has a ‘considerable’ amount of dialogue as well. It’s described as an ‘excellent part for a top-end actor.’” They’re looking for a white actor with a “neutral and non-posh English accent.” The role will shoot through October.
While this list of roles is for smaller parts, there is still some interesting roles listed in their. For example, the role of priest is especially interesting considering what just happened in King’s Landing.
The biggest role may be the “Warrior” role, which is a major guest starring role. And considering the pitch for a “top end actor” may suggest that casting directors are looking for actors that can handle “considerable dialogue”.
Throughout the Internet, Game of Thrones’ fans are trying to figure out which book characters are the HBO producers and casting directors currently casting for. For example, according to Gizmodo, the Warrior role is most likely the book character Connington who “was the secret guardian of a young man claiming to be Aegon Targaryen, who had survived his family’s downfall in Robert’s Rebellion and returns to Westeros with Tyrion Lannister at his side to stake his claim on the throne.” But at the moment this is just speculation and wild guessing.

Walt Disney World is now casting actors, models, and talent for the role of Moana
Disney has recently released a casting call for “Moana” face character performers at Walt Disney World on their Disney Auditions website. Casting directors are looking for female performers to help bring the character Moana to life.
Moana is from the upcoming Walt Disney Animation Studios feature film. The Disney production is directed by filmmaking team Ron Clements and John Musker fromThe Little Mermaid, The Princess and the Frog and Aladdin, produced by Osnat Shurer, this CG-animated adventure sets sail in late 2016. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was cast to voice Maui, a demi-god who aids a young girl on a nautical adventure, in Disney’s “Moana.”

The Walking Dead is now casting a new lead role in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Walking Dead is reportedly casting another lead role as we speak. According to reports, The Walking Dead’s casting directors are now holding auditions for another “leader-type” role.
According to The Spoiling Dead Fans, a casting call has gone out for a character by the name of Brion – a character never named in The Walking Dead comic books. “Brion is an educated, pokerfaced leader who has a superior air and does not let his/her motives be known,” the casting call’s description says.
According to Comic Book, the character is most likely based on a character from the Comic Books called Alpha, a female leader of the savage Whisperer group who is currently at war with Alexandria.
Here’s the alleged casting breakdown:
“Brionuses as few words as possible and keeps his/her emotions in check — we do see amusement, annoyance, displeasure,” the call reads. “Brion just doesn’t wear their emotions on their sleeve; he/she is confident, quiet, and chiefly concerned with how anything may benefit him/her and those he/she knows.”
The casting call does not reveal the gender for the 30 to 40 year old character, but the role is for a recurring guest star role.

Paramount and MGM’s big-budget biblical-era epic Ben Hur is expected to flop in the box office.
According to reports, the movie took $100 million dollars to film, not including the millions of dollars spent on marketing, and box office analysts are saying the movie is only going to make $12 million. Paramount argues that the movie will earn $20 million, which is still a far cry from the over $100 million spent in producing the project.
This movie flop should not come as a surprise as reboots and remakes have continued to underwhelm in the box office. Fox’s Independence Day, Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass, Sony’s Ghostbusters, and Warner Bros’ The Legend of Tarzan all flopped in the box office.
The movie is a 1959 remake, which featured Charlton Heston. The modern day reboot centers around the epic story of Judah Ben-Hur (Jack Huston), a prince falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother, an officer in the Roman army. Game of Thrones director reveals what it was like to film the Battle of the Bastards.
Game of Thrones fans are probably still talking about HBO’s hit TV series. One of the biggest scenes of them all came at the end of the hit TV series Battle of the Bastards, when Sansa Stark finally gave Ramsay Bolton the brutal death that many people had been waiting for. So what was it like on set?
According to TheWrap, director Miguel Sapochnik, who earned his first Emmy Nomination for directing that brutal episode, explained the dogs were extremely ferocious.
“There’s always a level of excitement or anxiety when shooting the death scene of any of the characters in the show,” Sapochnik explained to TheWrap.
“That said, it was also a complicated scene because it was late in the shoot and therefore late in the year. Iwan [Rheon, who plays Ramsay] was covered in sticky blood and actually tied to the chair. And then there were the dogs who were pretty ferocious in real life.”
So what kind of dogs were those featured on the hit HBO series? Apparently, those dogs are called the Cane Corso also known as the Italian Mastiff. That type of dog was bred to hunt down large animals and the American Kennel Club highly suggests training these animals so they are friendly with other animals and people.

Sapochnik also praised the show’s crew. “Part of a crew’s strength is the way they behave in difficult shooting conditions and the Dragon unit of ‘GoT’ are impeccable when it comes to being even-keeled, whether it’s [shooting] the death of a main character, the biggest, most expensive shot of a battle, or an intimate two-hander.”
Sapochnik added, “It also allows the actors to set the tone a bit and I think this was a tough scene for Iwan because it was the death of a character he’s lived with for years. I thought he did a great job as did Sophie [Turner].”
All of Hollywood A-listers are getting involved in the latest viral challenge, the #22PushUpChallenge. Stars like Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson and Chris Pratt are showing their support for troops by getting down and doing 22 push-ups.
The challenge was created by 22 Kill, an organization dedicated to preventing veterans’ suicide. The 22 Pushup Challenge is designed to raise awareness of the 22 veteran suicides that happen everyday. And the goal of the challenge is to reach a total of 22 million push ups.
Chris Pratt was one of the first celebrities to participate and it has quickly gone viral with several celebrities including Anna Faris. John Krasinski, Chris Evans, Scott Eastwood, and Charlie Hunnam participating.
Will Smith explains how counseling and therapy saved his marriage
Will Smith has opened up for the first time revealing that his relationship with his wife was on thin ice and it was saved by counseling.
Will Smith recently told the press how the couple nearly got divorced and sought therapy in order to save their marriage.
He explained: “I’ve done a lot of marriage counseling.” Smith added, “What happens in a marriage once you do counseling, the truth comes out. And you sit across from your wife and you’ve said all of your truth and she has said all of her truth. You look at each other and you can’t imagine you could ever possibly love each other again now the truth is out.”

Smith continued by saying, “It creates a dark moment. But for me it’s the dark before the dawn. When the truth comes out and people have to say who they are and what they think, you get to know who they are. I think that’s the cleansing before you get to the other side that is understanding and moving forward in our relationship.”
The couple have been married for 19 years after meeting on set of Will Smith’s hit TV series Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The couple has two children Jaden and Will Smith, who are still teenagers.
Jada Pinkett Smith addressed comments of a troubled marriage when she told Howard Stern, “I’m not his watcher. He’s a grown man … I trust that the man that Will is is a man with integrity. W Magazine open casting call at Lenox Square mall in Atlanta, Georgia.
W magazine and Simon Malls have teamed up to discover modeling talent across the country. W magazine and Simon will host casting call events at 10 shopping centers nationwide, including Lenox Square in Buckhead Aug. 27 from noon to 6 p.m, according to reports.
“Simon is dedicated to celebrating fashion, discovery and community at our iconic shopping centers,” Carol Cox, director of marketing and business development at Lenox Square, said in a news release. “We know our young shoppers love fashion, and malls are the ideal scouting ground for new models. By teaming up with W magazine, we’re giving them a unique chance to enter the modeling and fashion world.”
