‘Mission: Impossible 6’ Salary Talks Cause Production Delays

Tom Cruise reportedly wants to get paid more money for the next Mission Impossible movie.

According to Deadline, production for the sixth Mission: Impossible movie has been halted. Apparently, Tom Cruise and Paramount Pictures are reportedly experiencing a salary dispute that has effectively stopped all work on the movie’s script and preliminary special effect designs.

There are two rumors behind the production standstill.

  1. People are suggesting that Cruise and producers will agree to get paid less
  2. Tom Cruise wants to get paid more for doing those crazy stunts and match the ton of money Universal paid him for The Mummy

Considering the production is still in development and the fact that last movie nearly made $700 million dollars, the financial discussions will likely have no effect on the movie’s release date. After all, this movie will get get made and Tom Cruise will definitely star in it. And if I were Tom Cruise’s talent agent I would change my voicemail to Rihanna’s latest album.

As Rihanna once famously said, B— better have my money.

Shia LaBeouf and Jesse Eisenberg Nearly Starred in ‘War Dogs’

Shia LaBeouf nearly starred in War Dogs alongside Jesse Eisenberg.

On Friday, War Dogs hit theaters featuring Miles Teller and Jonah Hill. And while the reviews for the movie are somewhat mixed one of the biggest compliments for the movie is Jonah Hill and Miles Teller’s acting chops. But, originally, Shia LaBeouf was going out for Jonah Hill’s role.

Originally titled Arms and Dudes, Jonah Hill and Miles Teller were not the first choice for the movie’s cast. In fact, Jonah Hill originally turned down the lead role. The movie was written with The Wolf of Wall Street actor in mind, so after Eisenberg and LaBeouf left the project, it all ended up working out, according to movie’s director Todd Phillips:

Just to speak to that first part, [Jesse Eisenberg and Shia LaBeouf] were attached for a moment, and then we ended up pushing the movie an entire year and both guys became unavailable. And to speak to that further, and they both know this, we wrote the script for Jonah. When I first went to Jonah, before we pushed the movie, Jonah actually turned it down. I then cast it with [Eisenberg and LaBeouf], then we pushed the movie a year for production reasons and that’s when they became unavailable.

Two months before shooting, Teller was not a sure thing for the movie either. He had a scheduling conflict. But, the day after the Academy Awards, he flew to Romania to start filming War Dogs. 

But, another actor auditioned for Miles Teller’s role, comedian James Corden. When Phillips and War Dogs co-star appeared as guests on his show, the host showed a clip from his audition with Shia LaBeouf and told a brief story about the experience:

“So I’m all due to read, I’m in New York, I’m learning lines all night, and then I get this message, ‘I don’t know if it’s gonna happen tomorrow, Shia LaBeouf’s in jail.’”

Shia LaBeouf was arrested for disrupting a Broadway performance of Cabaret. During the audition, for some reason, Shia LaBeouf thought it necessary to wear shoelaces on his face. Recalling this acting decision, Phillips said:

They take your shoelaces away in prison because they’re afraid you’re going to kill yourself, I suppose. So he was carrying his shoelaces, and for some reason he put them on his face because he was being weird and wanted to throw you off a little bit.

James Corden actually enjoyed the experience. As for Eisenberg and Shia Labeouf, they would be easy to imagine in the action thriller War Dogs because they obviously bring something unique to the movie. But, in the end Todd Phillips got the actors he always wanted. We will have to wait and see if audiences approve of this casting decision as well.

War Dogs hits theaters on August 19th.

Hugh Jackman’s ‘Wolverine 3’ Wraps Production

Wolverine 3 has finished filming

Wolverine 3 has finished filming in New Mexico, and to celebrate Hugh Jackman went to Bondi Beach in Sydney Australia.

But before he left Jackman posted a picture on Twitter that read “Thank you New Mexico! Photo credit: Ben Rothstein”

For the past two months, Wolverine 3 has been shooting in New Mexico, and it’s there that the actor stirred up controversy when he posted a photo on Instagram and everyone questioned how old Jackman really was. It was unclear whether he simply looked old, or if he was still in make from the set. However, after the photos from Bondi Beach, we can put those rumors to rest. The reason for all that makeup is the nature of the movie itself. According to reports, the storyline for Wolverine 3 is based on the Old Man Logan comic book story. An older and confused Professor Xavier has also been seen in photos from the set, which supports the theory, as does the greying beard. The Old Man Logan storyline centers around the storyline that Hugh Jackman hasn’t unsheathed his claws for years.

Vin Diesel confirms the Guardians of the Galaxy will appear in Avengers: Infinity War. 

The filmmakers behind 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War are probably not ready to talk about the details of the new feature film but, Vin Diesel doesn’t seem to care very much. On Facebook Live, Groot, said he and the Guardians of the Galaxy will appear in the next Avengers movie.

On Facebook Live, Vin Diesel said the following:

“….the Guardians will be included in Avengers: Infinity War and that’s incredibly exciting. Incredibly exciting. Incredibly exciting and something that if you were a part of our page you knew before everybody.”

It’s important to note that this is something we have all assumed for a long time, but to have one of the cast members confirm the rumor is pretty surprising.

Casting directors are currently holding open casting calls for Avengers: Infinity War in Atlanta, Georgia. Central Casting, the official extras casting director behind the latest Marvel movie, is looking for a ton of background extras to work on the new movie. ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Actor Reveals He’s Still a Struggling Actor

Guardians of the Galaxy actor reveals what it is really like to be a working actor in Hollywood.

You would think that after you get cast in a feature film as big as Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, or working on an Academy Award winning movie like 12 Years a Slave, you would never have to work again. However, as Hollywood character actor Tom Proctor shared on his Facebook page, that is a Hollywood myth.

Proctor is best known for such films and television series as Lawless, Justified, the role of Biddee in 12 Years a Slave, Django Unchained, Looper, Touched by an Angel and the role of Horuz in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Last night, Tom Proctor took to Instagram to shed some light on his acting career and in the process he reveals his life is far from glamorous. He still drives a 2001 Nissan and has a regular day job.

Proctor basically argues that even though the money can be good, as an actor in Hollywood you have to save every check because you never know when or where the next gig is coming from. In fact, he says “I make sure I can live as cheap as possible and survive until the next job.”

Proctor continues by explaining “If you think your first big role or tv series mean you have it made. Wow I don’t want to be there when the wake up hits you.”

Check out what he said (emphasis my own):

“Do you want reality? People keep asking me how to get where I am. and saying things like it must be nice to not have to work a day job and not worry about were you next job is coming from. I am here to tell you it don’t work like that. I try to bank money while the money is good. I have no idea where or if my next gig is coming from. I drive a 2001 Nissan because it is paid off. My Harley is a 2004 fat boy that gets me many auditions and enough commercial gigs so far to pay for it.

I have a day job and that is getting ready for my next gig. I spend 40% of what I make on being who I am , staying in the public eye and getting the next job. I make sure I can live as cheap as possible and survive until the next job. If you think your first big role or tv series mean you have it made. Wow I don’t want to be there when the wake up hits you.

I am an actor because my heart won’t let me do anything else. If you are in this to get rich get out. This business is a fickle high maintenance girl friend that will only break your heart. if you are so in love with her you don’t care what she takes from you or how bad she hurts you then welcome to my world.”

That is some real advice from a real working actor.

CBS’ ‘Let’s Make a Deal’ Chicago Open Casting Call

CBS is holding an open casting in Chicago for Let’s Make a Deal.

Producers from the hit TV series Let’s Make a Deal are headed to Chicago and they are holding an open casting call for contestants.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the casting call is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Hollywood Casino. Two applicants will win a trip to Los Angeles, including airfare and hotel accommodations, and attend a taping of the show in its upcoming eighth season. One applicant of the two will be selected to compete on the show.

Let’s Make a Deal features contestants making crazy deals in order win cash prizes. The hit game show is led by comedian Wayne Brady.
