Did you know The Walking Dead filmed at Tyler Perry Studios?

Tyler Perry is on fire. His latest feature film, Boo! Madea’s Halloween not only beat Tom Cruise in the box office. Tyler Perry also beat Academy Award winning actor Tom Hanks in the box office.

But, other than Perry’s box office success, the creator of Madea has a thriving film studio business. Several months ago, we reported that AMC’s hit TV series The Walking Dead was filming at Tyler Perry Studios. But, up until this point, we did not know why AMC was filming at Tyler Perry Studios? Well, we finally know why.

Last night’s episode of The Walking Dead introduced a new character and location – King Ezekiel and The Kingdom. Those scenes were apparently filmed on location at Tyler Perry Studios.

According to The Walking Dead Wiki, in the comics “The Kingdom is a community of survivors found in Washington, D.C., who are based at a high school surrounded by a wall of buses and sheets of metal. It is the second biggest settlement after the Hilltop Colony.” According to the comic books Rick Grimes travels to meet with Ezekiel, a new character set to be introduced in season 7, in order to create a plan and strategy to defeat Negan and The Saviors. Ezekiel gives his word of support and the inhabitants of “The Kingdom” join forces with Rick. Over the course of several weeks, Rick and Ezekiel hold meetings to discuss how they will join forces and defeat Negan.”

We will have to wait and see what else will happen in Season 7 of The Walking Dead but until then, it is interesting to think that arguably the most powerful man in Hollywood, Tyler Perry, was hanging out with the cast with America’s most watched television series.

 Jason Bateman will be involved in establishing his creative vision for the series working with Bill Dubuque from The Judge. This will be Jason Bateman’s first major return to TV since Arrested Development for Netflix, which earned him a second Emmy nomination.

The Vampire Diaries is now casting extras to play first responders in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Vampire Diaries are looking for background extras to work on Wednesday, November 2nd in Conyers, Georgia. Producers are looking for extras to play first responder types, police officers, paramedics and pedestrians. Casting directors are seeking talent between the ages of 18 to 50 to work on the scene.

According to Variety, Jamie Dornan, the star of “Fifty Shades of Grey,” will portray a successful writer who has an affair with Jemima Kirke’s character, a former teen prodigy and heroin addict trying to become a writer. ‘Pretty Little Liars’ Cast Just Got Matching Tattoos

Pretty Little Liars finished filming their final season this week.

So how did the cast members celebrate? The cast all got matching tattoos.

Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell, Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish each got their character’s first initial inked on their pointer fingers, which are known as “shh” fingers in the Pretty Little Liars world.

The final season of Pretty Little Liars premieres in April of next year.

‘Night of the Living Dead’ Director Bashes ‘The Walking Dead’

George A. Romero will go down in history as the father of the zombie genre.

His 1968 feature film Night of the Living Dead was the first zombie movie ever, and it set the rules many TV shows and movies follow to this day.

The following Romero movies include Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead. Hardcore zombie enthusiasts will argue that the best zombie movies were produced and directed by Romero.

But, Romero is not that impressed by the latest zombie TV shows and movies. In a recent interview with Indiewire Romero bashes The Walking Dead. 

“All of a sudden, here came The Walking Dead,” he told Indiewire in a recent interview. “So you couldn’t a zombie film that had any sort of substance. It had to be a zombie film with just zombies wreaking havoc. That’s not what I’m about.”

“Now, because of World War Z and The Walking Dead, I can’t pitch a modest little zombie film, which is meant to be sociopolitical. I used to be able to pitch them on the basis of the zombie action, and I could hide the message inside that. Now, you can’t. The moment you mention the word zombie, it’s got to be, ‘Hey, Brad Pitt paid $400 million to do that.’”

Romero has a long history of adding political messages in his zombie thrillers. If you look back at his zombie movies there are discussions of inequality, social media, and consumerism mixed with zombies.

But, Romero has a long history of critiquing The Walking Dead. Romero said in the past the show is “a soap opera with an occasional zombie.”

Fox new TV series STAR is now casting celebrity judges in Atlanta, Georgia.

Fox’s new TV series Star is looking for people to portray Celebrity Judges for a hair show convention scene. Producers are looking for people with a superstar look.

About Star:

Star tracks down her sister, SIMONE (newcomer Brittany O’Grady), and her Instagram bestie, ALEXANDRA (newcomer Ryan Destiny), and together, the trio journeys to Atlanta to become music superstars.

Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award, Grammy Award and Golden Globe Award winner Queen Latifah (“Bessie,” “Bringing Down The House”) plays CARLOTTA, a surrogate mother to the young crew.

Emmy Award nominee Benjamin Bratt (“24: Live Another Day,” “Law & Order”) rounds out the cast as JAHIL, a down-on-his-luck talent agent looking to revitalize his career, who’s taken a certain shining to Star. The series will also feature guest star and Grammy Award winner Lenny Kravitz (“Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” “The Hunger Games”). Reality soon dawns on the girls’ fantasies, and they start to learn that ambition often comes at a cost. And sometimes that cost is too high.
