Scarlett Johansson: “I have a lot of huge admiration for working moms”

0

Scarlett Johansson maybe one of the highest grossing actresses of all time but, she is also a mother who loves spending time with her two-year-old daughter.

The Ghost in the Shell star, who has a two-year-old daughter Rose with husband Romain Dauric, says being a mother is an “incredible challenge and an incredible gift” and she often feels guilty about working since she cannot be by her growing two-year-old.

She told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “I don’t profess to know anything about parenting, anything more than anybody else, [but] being a working mom is an incredible challenge, [and] it’s an amazing gift.

“I think you always feel a little bit of guilt… If you’re at work, you feel like you’re missing out on those special moments with your kid. If you’re with your kid, you feel like you’re not giving enough to your job. It’s a balance.

“I have a lot of huge admiration for working moms. I’m barely, barely holding it together.”

Scarlett Johansson’s marriage is rumored to be on the rocks, and she brought her mother Melanie Sloan as her date to the amfAR New York Gala on Wednesday.

She said: “I really couldn’t think of anybody else that I’d rather [have] with me here tonight.

“[She’s] been incredibly inspiring for me in many, many ways, but certainly as a young girl.

“She never shielded us from what was going on in the zeitgeist in culture. She always made us aware, you know, socially aware. She always encouraged us to be politically and socially active, so I couldn’t imagine a better date tonight.”

‘The Wizard of Oz’ Munchkins Sexually Molested Judy Garland, Ex-Husband Claims

Judy Garland is known to have walked down the Yellow Brick Road with the Munchkins following closely behind in one of the most popular movies of all time The Wizard of Oz. However, her ex-husband now claims that in real-life the Munchkins repeatedly sexually harassed her on set.

“They would make Judy’s life miserable on set by putting their hands under her dress … The men were 40 or more years old,” Sid Luft wrote in a memoir titled “Judy and I: My Life with Judy Garland.”

“They thought they could get away with anything because they were so small,” he said.

Sid Luft was Garland’s third husband, and they married in June 1952 and had two children together before they got divorced 13 years later.

Garland was 17 when The Wizard of Oz hit theaters in 1939. Garland revealed the Munchkin actors’ behavior in a 1967 interview. “They were little drunks … They got smashed every night, and they picked them up in butterfly nets,” she said.

While there have been rumors of drunken parties and alleged sex parties, the last surviving Munchkin has denied the allegations.

“How could you get drunk on $50 a week?” he asked, according to People. “There were a couple of kids from Germany who liked to drink beer. They drank beer morning, noon and night, and got in a little trouble. They wanted to meet the girls, but they were the only ones.”

Garland died in 1969. The coroner explained that the death was “an incautious self-overdosage” of barbiturates.

The Walking Dead: How Michael Cudlitz Knew He Was Being Killed Off

0

Fans of The Walking Dead are not strangers to seeing their favorite characters get killed off on the in hit TV show. But, for the actors, that is an entirely different story.

During the recent Walker Stalker Cruise, Michael Cudlitz, also known as Abraham Ford, revealed during a Q&A session that he knows that Abe was going to get killed off when show runner Scott Gimple made an out of the ordinary request.

“I was up visiting my son at college and I got a phone call, ‘Scott wants to meet with you next week when you come back. Scott hadn’t met with me in two years. I was like, alright, I’m dead. Let’s call Scott and confirm this. So I called Scott and said, ‘Hey, uh, we’re supposed to have this meeting next Tuesday. Are you killing me?’ He said, ‘Ha! Ha! Why would you? Ha! Well… maybe.”

You would think Abe would have been upset with getting killed off. But, Cudlitz knew it was coming.

“I knew that we were gonna met people from other places, other worlds, that they’ve created. I knew a lot of other characters had to come in and I knew we had to lose some people and they were sticking closer and closer to the graphic novel so it’s a good chance it’s gonna be me.”

In the comic book series, Abraham was killed off in Issue 98 at the request of Negan in return for Rick killing several Saviors. However, in the tv show, Denise is the one who received Abraham’s death after she gets shot through the eye with an arrow.

“At the time, he [Scott Gimple] said it would be both me and Steven [Yeun, who played Glenn] but he wasn’t sure if it would be at the end of Season 6 or the beginning of Season 7 mostly because he didn’t know if they would be able to keep it a secret that long and the only way that would’ve worked was if they really went for it. They decided that we would go for it and it sort of worked. I was kind of expecting it, because Abraham’s story had already been told so far as the graphic novel.”

Either way, since Abraham was killed off, ratings for The Walking Dead have not been the same.

’24: Legacy’ is the Lowest-Rated Post-Super Bowl TV Show in Over a Decade

0

The Super Bowl was watched by 111.3 million viewers, making it the fourth most-watched game in TV history. Any TV show that follows the Super Bowl is expected to receive a significant rating boost. However, according to reports, the New England Patriots versus the Atlanta Falcons game did little to help out 24: Legacy as much as Fox would have probably liked.

The debut of the 24 reboot without Jack Bauer was watched by 17.6 million people and earned a 6.1 rating among the key demographic, according to Fox. On face value, those are excellent ratings. But, looking back at other shows following the Super Bowl, it is the least-watched post-Super Bowl episode in 14 years, when ABC aired a season 2 episode of Alias. However, it is important to point out that episode was hurt by a post-game Bon Jovi concert televised by ABC.

That said, 24: Legacy was able to get an estimated 200,000 viewers to avoid becoming the least watched post-Super Bowl episode since 1975 when NBC aired NBC Nightly News.

Since the game went into overtime, 24: Legacy did not start until 11 p.m., and many people would have probably missed the game to get ready for school and work. Also, the numbers make 24: Legacy the highest-rated scripted TV series of the franchise and Fox is hoping that a fraction of that audience will stick around to watch the next episode.

In case you haven’t heard, the reboot of the iconic action series has cast Straight Outta Compton breakout Corey Hawkins in the leading role. Taking over for former series star Kiefer Sutherland, Hawkins will play an entirely new character named Eric Carter in 24: Legacy. “Strong and smart, Eric came from a very rough background and turned his life around in the Army Rangers,” reads the official description. “Now back home in Virginia with his wife Nicole, he’s pulled back into action as his past comes looking for him.”
