Here’s How Much Hollywood Actors and Crew Members Get Paid

The salaries of Hollywood’s biggest stars and production staff have been revealed.

Paychecks for reliable megastars like Jennifer Lawrence remain enormous with the actress earning a reported $20 million for her upcoming feature film Red Sparrow. Also included in the highest bracket of Hollywood top-earners include Will Smith and Dwayne Johnson.

In TV, the biggest payouts were for The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons and Johnny Galecky, who each took home $900,000 per episode, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Kevin Spacey reportedly makes $500,000 for every episode of the House of Cards, while the stars of the Game of Thrones also earn about the same.

In Hollywood, the middle bracket of stars can earn expect to earn less than $3 million per production.

Emma Watson reportedly makes a modest $3 million for her work in Beauty and the Bast, while Jessica Chastain was paid only $700,000 for her work in the movie Woman Walks Ahead. That said, Emma Watson made a total of about $20 million after the movie made over a $1 billion at the box office.

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot was the driving force behind a movie that earned over $800 million at theaters, but she was paid about $150,000.

The child actors from Stranger Things, which was a huge hit for Netflix, reportedly took home a modest $30,000 for each episode they appeared in. However, the young actors can expect bigger salaries in the future.

Here’s a breakdown of the crew’s pay in Hollywood

PRODUCERS:

Top dollar: The age of the mega-producers may have passed-somewhat, but David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman will have earned a minimum $2m upfront for Beauty and the Beast and with profits off the top made another $20m.

Middle dollar: A competent film producer in Hollywood can expect to earn $750,000 to $1m a film.

Bottom dollar: Producer Guild minimums state that the lowest a producer can make on a project is $250,000

AGENTS:

Top dollar: The only Ari Gold’s in Hollywood today are William Morris CEO Ari Emanuel and CAA’s Richard Lovett – who can earn almost $40m annually.

Middle dollar: An average agent can earn anywhere between $300,000 to $500,000 a year

Bottom dollar: New starters will take home up to $60,000 annually at the very best

DIRECTOR:

Top dollar: Household names like Ridley Scott and Steven Spielberg will earn up to $20m a movie

Middle dollar: The female director of Wonder Woman, Patty Jenkins, got $1m for the film. It was a hit and she has now moved into the top bracket and will be getting $8-9m for the sequel.

Bottom dollar: New directors such as Jordan Vogt-Roberts will have taken home $750,000 for Kong: Skull Island.

BOOM OPERATOR:

Top dollar: Microphone holders can make up to $120,000

Middle dollar: They will take home $72,000 a year

Bottom dollar: They will make $37,000 a year

TV HOST:

Top dollar: Pat Sajak makes $15m a year for Wheel of Fortune and Ryan Seacrest gets $12m a year for his hosting duties on ABC

Middle dollar: Alec Baldwin will get $3m for ABC’s new Match Game

Bottom dollar: The Travel Channel’s hosts are on around $40,000 an episode

STUDIO CHIEF:

Top dollar: Disney’s Alan Horn and Fox’s Stacey Snider are bringing home around $20m with their base salary plus stocks and bonuses.

Middle dollar: Sony president of worldwide marketing and distribution Josh Greenstein makes $2m a year

Bottom dollar: Studio heads of a niche division like Fox Searchlight will be on $1m a year

TV STAR:

Top dollar: The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons will be on around $20m a season or around $900,000 an episode.

Middle dollar: Mandy Moore from This is Us will earn up to $100,000 a year.

Bottom dollar: The kids from Stranger Things such as Millie Bobby Brown will have taken home around $30,000 an episode

Top dollar: Aaron Sorkin of The West Wing fame can expect to make $5m for his latest project.

Middle dollar: The writers behind the new Jumanji film, Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg were paid $1m each

Bottom dollar: Industry minimums are $72,600 for an original script and $63,500 for an adaptation.

CAMERA OPERATOR:

Top dollar: Blockbuster camera operators get $150,000 a year.

Middle dollar: Average earners are on $1,833 a week

Bottom dollar: Around $25.50 an hour

Steve Bannon Bashes Actors: “They’re All Dumb as Ticks”

Steve Bannon has a long history in Hollywood. He has produced and directed several films but now the leader of Breitbart News says actors are “dumb”.

“By the way, you’ve got to understand something: These actors and actresses, they’re all dumb as ticks — and they’re all lazy,” the former White House chief strategist said on the Breitbart News Daily radio show on Thursday.

He continued: “Right, they’re like pieces of furniture. They’re all dumb as ticks. By the way, that’s why movie attendance is down, people are tired of it. That’s why they’re not watching the National Football League, cutting the cord at ESPN. They’ve politicized everything, and you guys are voting with your feet, which I think is fantastic.”

Steve Bannon said that Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel are competing for ratings right now by making their late-night shows “very political, very anti-Trump,” and that Breitbart News is exposing them.

“That’s one of the reasons Big Hollywood is on fire, because all we do is expose the hypocrisy of these morons in the entertainment industry,” he said.

Bannon’s comments were attacked by critics on Twitter. “I’ve played dumb but never as a tick,” actor Jeff Daniels wrote on Twitter.

Actress Evan Rachel Wood responded by saying: “Some people are ‘celebrities’ and some are ‘artists,” she said. “They worked their way up from nothing and now they have a backstage pass. With no motives. Not trying to get votes or money. Simply sharing their experience of both sides of the coin. They have everything to lose and nothing to gain by speaking their truth. Do they speak for everyone? No. But they work hard, raise families, pay taxes. They are citizens and human beings. About First Man:

Josh Singer, who earned an Oscar for his Spotlight screenplay, wrote First Man based on James Hansen’s biography, First Man: A Life of Neil A. Armstrong. Gosling has reportedly been tied to the project since late last year, but only inked a deal to star in the film earlier this year.

After serving as a Navy pilot in World War II, Neil Armstrong joined the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics, the precursor to NASA, as a test pilot and engineer. His first mission as an astronaut was Gemini 8 in 1962, during which he performed the first successful docking of two vehicles in space. On July 21st, 1969 he became the first person to walk on the moon as part of Apollo 11.

TV Series Casting Call for Several Speaking Roles

Casting directors are seeking musicians for speaking roles to work on a scene filming in New Orleans, Louisiana. Producers are seeking the following types:

  1. TROMBONIST – Male/All Ethnicities – please only submit ages 18+ – A trombonist performing in a restaurant. Must be able to play trombone.

Details surrounding the show have not been released. However, according to the New Orleans Film Commission, Hulu’s new TV series The First is now filming in Louisiana. “The First” will be centered on the first human mission to Mars. According to a Hulu synopsis released in May, when the streaming service announced the show’s straight-to-series order, it will “explore the challenges of taking the first steps toward interplanetary colonization.”

‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8 is Now Casting Several Speaking Roles

Game of Thrones is now casting seven new speaking roles for the final season.

Production for Season 8 of the Game of Thrones is heating up, and fan site Watchers on the Wall has revealed casting directors are now casting several new roles for the final season. These roles include:

  • Mercenary, aged 35-50. This guy is “an authoritative, fit, cool and charismatic military type.” He needs to to be able to ride a horse and will appear in two episodes of season 8. Since there are only six episodes to go around this year, every one counts.
  • Northern farmer, aged 25 – 35. This guy is a “straightforward honest man of simple tastes.” He’s just folk, y’all. He’ll shoot the week of November 17th.
  • Sassy and attractive girl, aged 18 – 25. This is another small Northern role; this character will film the week of November 6 and play opposite leading cast members in a “memorable” scene.
  • Northern sentry, aged 18 – 25. This is another role with scenes opposite leading cast members. HBO wants “a characterful young Northern actor with great timing.” He’ll shoot in the first week December.
  • Sailor, aged 35- 50. “He’s a rough-and ready sea-faring type with a weathered face and strong presence.” This character will film scenes the week of December 11. With Euron still in the mix, odds are he’s a member of the Ironborn.
  • Guard #1 is is a physically fit 20-something who’s good in a fight. He’ll be shooting the first week of December. 
  • Guard #2 is a tall, athletic 30-something. He’s professional, dependable and has one line opposite leading cast members. He’ll shoot on November 1 and 2 in Spain, which is notable because it lets us know that the production will return to Spain.

‘The Price is Right’ Open Casting Call

Calling all Price is Right fans.

Here’s your chance to be on The Price is Right. CBS is holding an open casting call for contestants for the show.

Here’s how to be considered:

  • Auditions are at  on Sunday, October 15th, 2017 between 11am and 2pm. Registration begins at 10am.
  • Dress up, be energetic, and act as if you are actually on the show.
  • You’ll need to fill out a participant application.
  • All auditions will be taped and sent to producers to choose who will get to be a part of the show.
  • Two (2) winners will be selected to fly to Los Angeles to attend a taping of the show.
  • One (1) Grand Prize Winner from the two will be selected as a contestant on The Price is Right.
