About Chicago Med:

Executive producer Dick Wolf adds another Chicago-centric series to his roster, this time focusing on the city’s most explosive hospital and its staff of doctors and nurses — a world first glimpsed in the “I Am the Apocalypse” episode of “Chicago Fire.” Relationships are forged in the chaos of the emergency room, where the team tackles cases inspired by topical events. According to Deadline, HBO has given a series order to a new supernatural drama series called The Outsider. The movie will star Ben Mendelsohn. The show comes from The Night Of co-creator/executive producer Richard Price, director-producer Jack Bender (Mr. Mercedes) Jason Bateman’s Aggregate Films, Temple Hill Entertainment, and MRC. Ozark star/director/executive producer Jason Bateman is set to direct the first two episodes and may star alongside Mendelsohn in the show.

The novel centers around an investigation into the gruesome murder of a local boy leads a seasoned cop and an unorthodox investigator to question everything “they believe to be real, as an insidious supernatural force edges its way into the case”.

Netflix is Building a Production Hub in Canada

Netflix is expanding with a new production hub Toronto, which will reportedly create nearly 2,000 jobs for Canadians every year.

Netflix’s latest development is a new production hub in Canada. The expansion will include two studio spaces in Toronto, Ontario.

According to reports, Netflix will lease around 164,000 square feet of property at Cinespace Studios, which includes four sound stages, office space and support space. The streaming giant will also lease four sound stages and office space at Pinewood Toronto Studios, which will include another 84,580 square feet.

Both sites will support several Netflix TV shows and movies providing production jobs for up to 1,850 Canadians every year.

“With this commitment to Cinespace and Pinewood Toronto, we are proud to continue our investment in Canada and Canadian films and series,” said Ty Warren, vice president of physical production for Netflix.

“These new leases will enable us to expand our presence in Canada and provide a wealth of production jobs for skilled Canadian workers.”

Netflix already films several of their projects in Canada at the Martini Film Studios in British Columbia. In fact, several productions have filmed in Canada including “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” “Game Over Man,” “The Package,” and more all filmed in British Columbia.

Netflix announced in 2017 they were committed to investing $500 million in content production in Canada over the next five years. They are currently on track to exceed that investment.

Canada’s Film Industry

Netflix’s investment in Canada should not come as a surprise. Canada’s weak dollar and film tax credits make filming in the country a worthwhile investment.

It is no lie, Georgia’s film industry is booming. With billions of dollars being pumped into the Peach State, Georgia’s film industry is the fastest growing in the world.

However, Georgia’s film industry may come to a complete stop if Canada’s dollar continues to fall. According to a report by Etan Vlessing with the Hollywood Reporter, Canada can quickly become the new Hollywood if the U.S. economy doesn’t change.

In addition to Canada’s film tax credit, the U.S. dollar is worth so much more. That means producers can hire more extras, build bigger sets, and cast bigger actors at a fraction of the price.

According to reports, “Jumanji 2” is now filming under the production title of “J19?. Tammy Smith Casting is now casting talent to work on scenes filming in Atlanta, Georgia. Casting directors are looking for men and women, all ethnicities, and ages 20 to 40 to work on a scene filming on March 1st, 4th, 5th, and 6th. Fittings are scheduled for February 26th and 27th in Atlanta, Georgia.

Details for the new “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” sequel have not been released. Danny DeVito and Danny Glover, have also landed roles in the movie based on 1981 by Chris Van Allsburg. The upcoming movie will star Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, and Bobby Cannavale.

‘God Friended Me’ is Now Casting Chess Players

CBS Series God Friended Me is now casting kid musicians in New York City.

Waldron Casting is looking for professional chess players to work as background extras on Thursday, February 28th in New York City for the CBS series “God Friended Me.”

About God Friended Me:

God Friended Me is a humorous, uplifting drama about an outspoken atheist whose life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from God and unwittingly becomes an agent of change in the lives and destinies of others around him. Miles Finer is intelligent, hopeful and optimistic, but he doesn’t believe in God. This puts him at odds with his father, Reverend Arthur Finer, a beloved preacher at Harlem’s Trinity Church for 25 years who is stung by his son’s strong rejection of his faith. Miles feels he’s found his purpose in life hosting a podcast where he’s free to speak his mind, but that changes when he receives the ultimate friend request. After repeated pokes by God, Miles’ curiosity takes over, and he accepts the request and follows the signs to Cara Bloom, an online journalist suffering from writer’s block. Brought together by the “God Account,” the two find themselves investigating God’s friend suggestions and inadvertently helping others in need. Joining them on their journey are Miles’s supportive sister, Ali, a doctoral psych student by day and bartender by night, and his best friend, Rakesh, a sometime hacker who helps Miles and Cara research the enigmatic account. Miles is set on getting to the bottom of what he believes is an elaborate hoax, but in the meantime he’ll play along and, in the process, change his life forever. (CBS)

Producers are looking for a diverse group of individuals, 16 to 25, from anywhere in the UK. Authentic, honest, voices with strength in their convictions and a personal engagement with the issue.
