  • – You have a passion for car/motorbike modification and restoration, perhaps you work as a specialist mechanic in a restoration/modification shop, or you are a passionate car or motorbike restorer/modifier in your own time outside of work!

About ‘What Happens Later’:

Cannes: Meg Ryan Will Both Direct And Star Alongside David Duchovny In The Upcoming Romantic Comedy, ‘What Happens Later’.

The film, which was bought by Bleecker Street for the United States and will premiere at Cannes with HanWay Films, is based on the play ‘Shooting Star’ by Steven Dietz.

Meg Ryan, who won an Academy Award for her performance in the 1989 romantic comedy Sleepless in Seattle, will revisit her ’90s romantic comedy roots in What Happens Later, which she’ll also direct and star in. David Duchovny will co-star.

Based on the play Shooting Star by Steven Dietz, who co-wrote the screenplay with fellow playwright and novelist Kirk Lynn and Ryan, the film is characterized as an “evolved and nostalgic take on the romantic comedy” by the filmmakers.

The film will be released theatrically in the United States by Bleecker Street 2023. HanWay Films has been hired to manage international sales and distribution, and sales at Cannes are forthcoming.

Later, in the season six episode “What Happens Later,” ex-lovers Willa (Ryan) and Bill (Duchovny) are reunited for the first time since their divorce decades ago when they are snowed in at an airport overnight. Willa is still the headstrong, self-reliant woman she was before, free of all attachments. Bill, who is recently separated, begins to reevaluate his life and relationships with his wife and daughter. All they each want is to go home, but during the night, they find themselves slowly connecting while also being forced to confront their shared past. They reflect on what could have been done differently and imagine future possibilities for their relationship. But when the versions of their shared history don’t match up, where do they turn next?

The film is produced by Ten Acre Films, which is run by Independent Spirit Award winners Jonathan Duffy and Kelly Williams. Laura D. Smith, who has been nominated for an Independent Spirit Award in the past, is also helping to produce the film. Furthermore, Kristin Mann (The Quarry, To The Stars) will be aiding in production. Kerri Elder and Blake Elder of Rockhill Studios are executive producers, with Bleecker Street’s Andrew Karpen and Kent Sanderson on this project.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have the incredible teams at Bleecker Street and HanWay alongside us as we bring this special story to the screen,” said the producers. “We believe it’s a look at life and love that audiences the world over will relate to and hunger for in these uncertain times when connection and reconciliation feel more important than ever.”

Avy Eschenasy negotiated the deal on behalf of Bleecker Street, with Sanderson as a mediator. Production for the film will begin later this year in Bentonville, Arkansas. Ryan has The Gersh Agency, Anonymous Content, and Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks, P.C., while Duchovny is represented by Mosaic and Nelson Davis LLP – both talent agencies. Lastly, production has Ramo Law P.C.

Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore will be the leads in Rocket Science’s May-December, directed by Todd Haynes. The film was written by Samy Burch, with the story conceived by Burch and Alex Mechanik. Rocket Science is beginning sales for international markets at the Virtual Cannes Market, while UTA Independent Film Group and CAA Media Finance represent US rights.

Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell, Christine Vachon, and Pam Koffler will produce the upcoming film alongside Portman and Sophie Mas. The movie is scheduled to begin filming next year.

After being tabloid celebrities for nearly 20 years, Gracie Atherton-Yu and her husband Joe are preparing to send their twin toddlers to high school. When Hollywood actress Elizabeth Berry visits the household to understand better Gracie, who she will be playing in a film, family dynamics unravel under the pressure of the outside eye. At 36, Joe has never accepted what happened in his youth; he begins to face the harsh reality of life as an empty nester. The parallels and distinctions between Elizabeth and Gracie begin to ebb and flow as the two women study one another. Set in lovely Camden, Maine, May December is a meditation on truth, storytelling, and the challenges (or impossibility) of fully comprehending someone else.

“What so appealed to me about Samy Burch’s exceptional script was how it navigated potentially volatile subject matter with a kind of observational patience that allowed the characters in the story to be explored with uncommon subtlety,” Haynes said.

My December will see Moore and Haynes reunite for the sixth time, following previous collaborations, including Far from Heaven. Their next project is a documentary about The Velvet Underground, which will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival next month. Portman recently wrapped principal photography on Marvel Studios/Disney’s Thor: Love and Thunder, while Moore will star in Universal’s upcoming film adaptation of the Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen.

The cast has grown with the addition of Jelani Alladin, Noah J. Ricketts, and Linus Roache as regulars. Matt Bomer (who’s also a co-executive producer), Allison Williams, and Jonathan Bailey were previously cast.

Based on a novel by Thomas Mallon, Fellow Travelers concerns the stormy relationship between Hawkins Fuller (Bomer), a political operative, and Tim Laughlin (Bailey), an idealistic college graduate, over several decades, beginning with the McCarthy era in Washington and ending with the 2016 election.

Jelani Alladin (The Walking Dead: World Beyond) stars as Marcus Hooks, a journalist who covers the Senate while struggling with the constant racism of that time. Ricketts (Frozen on Broadway) portrays Frankie Hines, a drag performer at an underground gay nightclub often visited by Hawkins and Marcus. Roache (Law & Order, Homeland) is Sen. Wesley Smith—the father of Williams’ character Lucy Smith and a father figure to Hawkins.

Fellow Travelers, set to begin filming in late July in Toronto, features Showtime and Fremantle. Ron Nyswaner (Philadelphia, Homeland) adapted Mallon’s book and served as executive producer alongside Bomer and Robbie Rogers (All American). Daniel Minahan (Halston, American Crime Story) will exec produce and helm the first two installments.

Kendall Cooper Casting is looking for extras to work on the upcoming SHOWTIME limited television series “Fellow Travelers”. This will be a period piece set in the 1950’s and production will be filming in Richmond, VA on October 9th and 10th. 
 
The casting team is looking for people who can easily portray a classic 1950’s look. Casting men and women of all ethnicities to play business men, secretaries, reporters and also seeking musicians who can play brass instruments. 1950’s hair styles are a HUGE plus. All men will need to be clean shaven. We will be giving period appropriate 1950’s hair cuts. Please note we will be limited by the period costumes available, so please be sure to include ALL of your current sizes in your submission. 

All roles will require a costume fitting in advance of filming. Fittings will be starting September 30th and continue into the first week of October. Production is also seeking cars from the 1940’s and 1950’s era. Please submit your period vehicle with your submission if you have one and please note if you have experience driving these period vehicles.

Acting is a gratifying and challenging profession that can take you to unique places. If you’re thinking of becoming an actor, or are already on your way, here are some acting tips to help you make the most of your career.

  1. Be prepared to work hard. Acting is not for the faint-hearted. It takes dedication, commitment, and a lot of hard work. But if you’re willing to put in the hours, it can be a gratifying career.
  1. Develop your craft. The best way to improve as an actor is never to stop learning. Take classes, read books, watch films and theatre – anything that will help you develop your craft.

Acting Tips 

Acting is not just about reciting lines and memorizing blocking. To be a successful extra, you must understand how to play the role and work with the other actors on set. Here are some tips to help you get started:

  1. Understand the character you are playing. Who are they? What is their motivation? What is their backstory? Knowing this will help you make choices about how to play the role.
  2. Talk to the other actors on set. Could you get to know them and their characters? This will help you understand the relationships between the characters and make your scenes more believable.
  3. Pay attention to the director’s instructions. They will often give you specific things to do or say that will help move the scene along.
  4. Be prepared for anything. If you are given a cue to do something, be ready to do it immediately. If you are asked to improvise, be creative and think on your feet.
  5. Relax and have fun. Remember, you are just playing a role. It’s not real life. Enjoy the experience, and don’t take yourself too seriously.

How to Blush on Command

One of the most important tools an actor has is their face. The face is the window to the soul, after all. And one of the most important expressions an actor can master is the blush. A well-timed blush can convey many emotions, from embarrassment to coyness to shame. But how do you blush on command? Here are a few tips.

The first step is to relax. If you’re tense, your body won’t be able to produce the desired effect. So take a few deep breaths and let your muscles loosen up. Once you’re feeling good and relaxed, it’s time to start.

The next step is to stimulate your sympathetic nervous system. This part of the nervous system controls the “fight or flight” response. To do this, you can place your fingertips under cold water for a few seconds or put an ice cube in your mouth and hold it there for as long as you can. This will cause blood to rush to your head, giving you a nice, rosy flush.

Once your sympathetic nervous system is stimulated, you must think about something that makes you embarrassed or ashamed. This could be a memory from your childhood, a humiliating moment from your teenage years, or anything else that brings on feelings of embarrassment. As you think about this memory or moment, you should start to feel your face getting warm and your heart rate increasing. And voilà! You’re blushing on command!

It will pick up in the early to mid-nineties and feature yet another recasting as Queen Elizabeth II’s saga continues, with Imelda Staunton — who younger audiences may recognize as Dolores Umbridge in Harry Potter: The Order of the Phoenix and The Deathly Hallows Part 1 – assuming the role of Her Majesty while Dominic West and Elizabeth Debicki play Prince Charles and Princess Diana, respectively.

EVERYTHING WE KNOW ABOUT MARVEL’S ‘BLADE’

We’ve known that a Blade movie has been coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2019. Who can forget when the film’s star—Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali—put on a hat that said “BLADE!” and caused an excited uproar?! Now, the film is closer than ever. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming Blade movie.

The Story of the ‘Blade’

There are no narrative specifics for Blade at the moment. However, we may guess the film will be based on the character’s comic history. Blade first appeared in Marvel’s Tomb of Dracula’s tenth issue, written by Marv Wolfman and drawn by Gene Colan, in 1973. The half-vampire character Blade, who first made it to the big screen in 1998, starring Wesley Snipes, quickly became a trendy figure. Two sequels follow—one of them good—but eventually, that franchise fell by the wayside.

All of this leads us to ask how dark the film can get. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was a horror flick, so Blade will likely go all out scary. Even if it doesn’t get as gory as Wesley Snipes’ movies, a dark and terrifying PG-13 Blade could be magnificent.

Behind the Scenes

The film will be written by playwright Stacy Osei-Kuffour, the first black woman to write for Marvel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In 2021, director Bassam Tariq confirmed his involvement in the project through The Playlist podcast.

Ali plays the half-vampire dangerous monster in the as-yet-untitled Blade film, featuring two-time Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali. Delroy Lindo has been cast in the movie, and it’s been announced that he’ll be playing Delroy Lindo. While we don’t know who Lindo is playing, we believe he may be Jamal Afari, who trained Blade and imparted him all about vampire slaying in the comics. In Blade, Snipes plays an aspiring escape artist who finds himself pursued by a group of men with supernatural abilities. (In the Wesley Snipes films, he was known as Abraham Whistler and was portrayed by Kris Kristofferson.) Dane Whitman will, as we saw (or instead heard) after Eternals, encounter Kit Harrington again as Blade.

On February 22, 2022, Deadline announced that Aaron Pierre had been cast as another undisclosed character in the superhero film Blade. Unlike Lindo, however, this part will significantly impact the Marvel Cinematic Universe more than just this one movie.

“The role itself was one of Hollywood’s more coveted parts since Tariq was tapped as director last fall. Execs on the project always had their eye on Lindo for his secret role. Still, insiders added Feige, Tariq, and others took their time finding the right person for this part, meeting dozens of up-and-coming actors for the role, with Pierre becoming the favorite in recent weeks.”

This signals a character like Dracula, who may have a more significant presence in the coming horror-tinged stages of the Marvel films. More on that later when it happens.

Blade’s Release Date

On November 3, 2023, the Blade Marvel film will premiere in theaters.

Yann Demange, pilot director of HBO’s Lovecraft Country, has been selected by Marvel Studios to fill the Blade director role.

Reports claim that Demange will replace the original director, Bassam Tariq, who left due to creative differences. Michael Starrbury– whose work on Ava DuVernay’s When They See Us has been widely acclaimed– will join the team as a rewrite the project from day one. Supposedly, Blade star Mahershala Ali is “personally involved in selecting the writer.”

In 2023, production for Ali’s “dark and gritty” reimagining of the Blade series will start in Atlanta. The new film is set to come out on September 6, 2024.

Marvel’s ‘Blade’ Confirms the Exit of Director Bassam Tariq

One of Marvel’s most widely anticipated films is in for a big change. Less than two weeks before filming was set to begin, director Bassam Tariq left the project.

THR has reported that, although Tariq is no longer the director of the Marvel film, he will still be an executive producer. In a statement to the news outlet, Marvel said, “We appreciate Bassam’s talent and all the work he’s done getting Blade to where it is.” In his own statement to Marvel, Tariq thanked Marvel, “It’s been an honor working with the wonderful folks at Marvel. We were able to put together a killer cast and crew. Eager to see where the next director takes the film.” According to sources close to the production, the film has gone through numerous script rewrites and is now looking for a new director.

Mahershala Ali will star in the forthcoming Marvel re-boot. The film has gained one of the MCU’s most anticipated releases since its inception at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. At the end of the Marvel panel, Ali made a surprise appearance and donned a baseball cap with the Blade logo. To finish, he announced that he would be playing in the movie adaptation of Blade.

In 2021, Blade made his MCU debut in the film Eternals as a surprise voice cameo in the post-credit scenes. His role was well-received by fans and is holding them over until Blade’s release on November 3, 2023.
