“Fathers and Daughters” Extras Casting Call in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Casting directors are seeking extras to work on the upcoming movie “Fathers and Daughters” starring Russell Crowe.

Fathers and Daughters” features Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Octavia Spencer, Aaron Paul and Diane Kruger.

The movie centers on a father and daughter living 25 years apart in New York City. Crowe will portray a famous novelist and widower struggling with mental illness as he tries to raise his 5-year-old daughter. Seyfried will portray the now-grown daughter in present-day Manhattan as she battles the aftermath of her troubled childhood.

Casting directors are looking for extras to work on the feature film on a scene filming on April 24th.

FX ‘How and Why’ Teens Casting Call for a Bully Role in North Carolina

Casting director’s for FX new television series ‘How and Why’ Starring Michael Cera is now casting teens for a bully role in Wilmington, North Carolina.

The comedy’s initial description reads, “The story of a man who can explain how and why a nuclear reactor works, but is clueless about life.” The pilot was written and directed by famed screenwriter Charlie Kaufman, who won two Academy Awards for “Being John Malkovich” and “Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.” Kaufman will executive produce with Anthony Bregman, who also collaborated with him on “Eternal Sunshine.”

Casting directors are seeking teens to portray bullies in the new FX television series.

‘Rocky’ Reboot? “Creed” Starring Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone Coming Soon

Couldn’t get enough of Rocky? Well MGM is getting ready to produce ‘CREED’ a reboot of the popular movie series centering on Rocky Balboa’s partner Apollo Creed.

According to Deadline, MGM is getting Ryan Coogler to direct Creed starring Michael B. Jordan as the grandson of Apollo Creed in the continuation of the Rocky saga.

This will be the seventh film in the Rocky series. But, many think this sequel is going to be different. Here is how the production came from an idea to pre-production:

When he [Ryan Coogler, director of ‘Fruitvale Station’] signed with WME, Coogler identified Creed as a dream project. While Coogler already had the relationship with Jordan, the agency put him together with Stallone. Stallone, who is right now heavily involved in a stage musical transfer of his original Oscar-winning 1976 film Rocky, loved the idea and felt it was strong enough for him to bring back his signature screen character. Stallone and Coogler then approached MGM’s Gary Barber and Jon Glickman, and they flipped for it. The film will be produced by Irwin Winkler and Robert Chartoff, who produced the original, along with Stallone and Kevin King [Deadline].

The movie is to center on the grandson of Apollo Creed. He’s raised in an upper-crust home thanks to his grandfather, the young man doesn’t have to box and his family doesn’t want him to. But, he has the natural skill, instinct and gifts that made his grandfather the heavyweight champion. Creed’s grandson turns to Balboa, who is out of boxing completely and not eager to return.

‘Kobe Bryant’s Muse’: Showtime Takes a Shot at a Kobe Bryant Documentary

Showtime is preparing for a feature-length documentary centering on the Los Angeles Lakers all-star, Kobe Bryant.

It looks like Kobe Bryant will be getting the small screen spotlight this fall with a new documentary following his legacy and experiences.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Kobe Bryant’s Muse is a feature length documentary that is being called an “in-depth look” at Bryant’s life, inspirations and challenges as he prepares for his return to the NBA next Season.

The wide-ranging documentary is being billed as an “in-depth look” at Bryant’s life, inspirations and challenges as he prepares for his return to the NBA next season. Kobe Bryant’s Muse will also highlight Bryant’s successes and challenges during his professional life and bring to light lesser-known aspects of his career. He also contemplates life after sports. Though no specifics were given, Showtime promises that Bryant’s “personal journey” also will be detailed.

 

“Kobe Bryant’s Muse will offer viewers a deep character portrait of a professional athlete who has transcended his sport to become a culture-moving personality,” said Stephen Espinoza, executive vp and GM, Showtime Sports. “We are thrilled that Kobe has given us this unprecedented access, which will allow our viewers to witness such a challenging period of time in the life of one of the NBA’s greatest players.”

“As a lifelong Boston Celtics fan, never did I imagine I would collaborate with Laker great Kobe Bryant,” said Chopra. “Kobe’s quest for greatness transcends rivalries, and I’m excited by his and Showtime’s willingness to go down this rabbit hole together. I’m confident audiences will be intrigued by what comes out the other side.”

Kobe Bryant is an All Star and five-time NBA champion. He is currently injured for the 2013 to 2014 season to a left knee injury.

‘X-Men’ Director Bryan Singer Accused of Rape and Sexual Abusing a Teenage Boy

The director of X-Men, Bryan Singer is in hot water after a federal lawsuit claims he abused a 17 year old boy in Los Angeles and Hawaii where firearms, drugs and alcohol were present.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the a lawsuit was filed Wednesday in Hawaii Federal Court alleging that Singer raped the boy and forced him to inhale cocaine.

The plaintiff is Michael F. Egan III, a Nevada resident who grew up in the Midwest and moved to Los Angeles with his family as a teen to further his acting career. Egan, who is 31 today and describes himself as heterosexual, filed the suit without a pseudonym and his name appears in a press release issued by his counsel. He alleges that Singer and others threatened to make or break his Hollywood aspirations depending on whether he kept them happy.

“Hollywood has a problem with the sexual exploitation of children,” said Egan’s attorney, Jeff Herman, who handles sexual abuse cases across the country. “This is the first of many cases I will be filing to give these victims a voice and to expose the issue.”

According to the suit, the Los Angeles parties were held at a mansion in Encino referred to as the M & C Estate, whose residents were Marc Collins-Rector and Chad Shackley, whose younger brother Scott Shackley was in Egan’s high school class. Collins-Rector and Chad Shackley were principals of Digital Entertainment Network, an early online streaming video company. The complaint asserts that Collins-Rector sexually abused Egan and threatened him with a gun, but does not name him as a defendant.

(Collins-Rector subsequently was charged and pled guilty to transporting minors across state lines for sex, and is a registered sex offender.)

The suit says that the sexual abuse in Hawaii took place at the Paul Mitchell estate. It alleges that Singer supplied Egan with drugs and alcohol, forced him to inhale cocaine, pushed Egan into a swimming pool, later held his head underwater, and repeatedly raped him. These were combined, the suit says, with threats, as well as with promises of employment by Singer.

Singer’s attorneys calls the lawsuit “absurd and defamatory”.

Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly Team Up Again in ‘Border Guards’

Did you love Stepbrothers starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly? Well get ready for a duo to collab again for a new feature film.

According to Deadline, the improv professionals are working on a new movie about two border patrol guards who end up getting into trouble.

The studio has closed a deal with Oscar-nominated In The Loop writer Jesse Armstrong to pen Border Guards. It’s a comedy that McKay is eyeing to direct, with Ferrell and Reilly playing two hapless but earnest friends who decide to give purpose to their lives by protecting America’s borders from illegal immigrants. In the process they find themselves accidentally stranded in Mexico without identification and must sneak back into the U.S. [Deadline]

If you didn’t know, Stepbrothers was a series of sketches that were loosely stitched together to make a complete movie. This was most likely accomplished due to how talented these two improv comedians are.

‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ Sequel Starring Robin Williams is Coming Soon

It has been more than twenty years since Robin Williams graced the screen as Mrs. Doubtfire.

The 1993 Chris Columbus comedy made more than $440 million world wide. Now, The Hollywood Reporter, reports that the Fox 2000 has a sequel in pre=production with both Robin Williams and Chris Columbus attached to return as star and director, respectively.

The orginal film as based on the 1987 Anne Fine’s novel, Madame Doubtfire, and featured Sally Field and Pierce Brosnan. The movie centers on the misadventures of an unemployed actor, Daniel Hillard, who, following his divorces, disguises himself as an elderly female nanny, allowing him to secretly masquerade his way back into the lives of his children.

FOX ‘Sleepy Hollow’ Season 2 Casting Call in North Carolina

Executive producer Mark Goffman commented on season two. “It’s a season about war, it’s a season about redemption. What do you do when your son becomes the Horseman of War in the apocalypse? Ichabod is going to have to contemplate assuming he gets out of the pine box he’s in. [THR]“

Producers hinted that there will be new villains coming in to Sleepy Hollow for Ichabod and Co. to worry about. Though they were coy, they shared some details as to who will be joining the war. “War doesn’t work by itself,” co-creator/executive producer Roberto Orci teased. “There are a lot of amazing foot soldiers coming, familiar and also original.”
