About Holly Hobbie:

This is a show about growing up. That time in your life when you have one foot in the kid world and the other in the adult one. When you love your parents even though you don’t always agree with them. And your best friend is the most important person on the planet. It’s when you figure out who you are and who you want to be. And you discover there’s more to everyone than just their online profile. It’s when you find out the world is less than perfect, but you believe you can fix it. Because when you’re fifteen, anything is possible as long as you can dream it and you can find someone to give you a ride.

Each half-hour episode follows Holly trying to make the world a better place, while tackling the everyday challenges of growing up – from bullies to breakouts, and crushes to curfews – in a funny and emotional way. Malala wouldn’t let a pimple stop her from trying to achieve world peace, right?

This show looks like Instagram, sounds like T-Swift, and feels like your mom’s or dad’s best home-cooked meal. There are lots of laughs and a few tears. (Don’t worry, kids today can handle it!) Because this generation knows the world isn’t perfect. They understand some families have more than others, that the earth is getting too hot, and some people try to hurt others because they’re different. But they don’t want be shielded. They want to fix this. Because they have big hearts and big brains. Just like Holly. And this will be their show.

Los Angeles Launches New Program To Give Aspiring Filmmakers Jobs in Hollywood

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garett and Ava DuVernay announced on Monday the start of a new partnership to bring aspiring filmmakers in underprivileged communities a chance at a job in the film industry.

According to reports, Evolve Entertainment Fund was created as an addendum to Garcetti’s Hire L.A. Youth program, which connected 15,000 youths in Black and Latino communities with jobs last year. That said, only 13 of those jobs were in the film industry, so the Evolve Fund has been created to help provide more opportunities for people interested behind the scenes in movies and TV shows filming in California.

The Evolve Entertainment Fund, a $5-million initiative, will assist 150 interns for the coming summer, with the goal to increase the number to 500 by 2020.

The program includes internships, mentorships, workshops, and panels. in addition, the fund will give production gap financing to feature projects made by underrepresented filmmakers and crews who don’t have enough money to get through post-production. 

The projects will then be distributed with the help of Ava DuVernay’s distribution company ARRAY, as well as the Film Independent and the National Association of Latino Independent Producers.

Partners on the program include Sundance, Buzzfeed, Netflix, Ryan Murphy, HBO, UTA, Jim Henson Studios, Shonda Rhimes, Issa Rae Productions, Variety and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ Hits Theaters in 2020

Director James Gunn previously hinted that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theaters in 2020, but he is now making it official. In a new tweet yesterday, the filmmaker said that fans can expect the third installment in the franchise in 2020.

This means we will see Guardians of the Galaxy four years in a row. In fact, we saw them in 2017’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, we’ll see them in Avengers: Infinity War this May, again in Avengers 4 in 2019, and then in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in 2020.

Marvel Studios has scheduled three untitled movies for 2020, including May 1, 2020, one on August 7, 2020, and another one November 6, 2020. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 grossed $863.7 million at the worldwide box office, topping the first film’s $773.3 million.

Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios‘ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 stars Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha, Chris Sullivan as Taserface, and Kurt Russell as Ego the Living Planet. Directed and written by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was produced by Marvel Studios’ president, Kevin Feige, with Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Nik Korda and Stan Lee serving as executive producers.

REPORT: ‘Men in Black 4’ To Start Filming This March

Men in Black 4 is expected to start filming this Spring in London

Last year, Deadline reported that Sony Pictures is moving forward with a fourth Men In Black movie with Iron Man screenwriters Matt Holloway and Art Marcum. However, this time around, neither Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones will be returning and it will not be a 21 Jump Street crossover, instead will focus on new characters.

Sony also dated the release for May 17th, 2019 going head-to-head at the box office with John Wick: Chapter 3. According to reports, Sony Pictures is considering a possible May production date in London, England.

Details surrounding the movie have not been released. In fact, Sony Pictures has not named a director or cast in the upcoming production.

Georgia-Filmed ‘The Walking Dead’ Renewed for Another Season

AMC has renewed The Walking Dead for Season 9, which will premiere later on this year.

For the ninth season, showrunner Scott M. Gimple has been named the chief content officer of The Walking Dead universe. Writer and co-executive producer Angela Kang will be taking over Gimple’s old job.

“This is an enormously important day for the entire ‘The Walking Dead’ television universe. We are proud to acknowledge Angela’s significant contribution to the series and to set a clear path forward for a ninth season under her direction. Further, with gratitude and admiration, we also recognize Scott’s broad impact on, and leadership of, the content that fuels our ‘TWD’ universe. Together, we will dream bigger and more broadly than ever before,” said Charlie Collier, president of AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios. “I know I speak for Angela, Scott and everyone at AMC when I say thanks most of all to the fans and the many talented people who have helped AMC play ‘Dead.’”

“‘The Walking Dead’ is a special show which started in an entirely different era of TV, and continues, in this new era, to confidently take chances to tell compelling stories that excite audiences and make them deeply connect with its characters, adapting Robert Kirkman’s brilliant comic book,” Gimple added. “As the show closes in on its tenth year, I’m honored to keep working with the talented, dedicated people behind and in front of the camera to make it all it can be, while expanding the world of ‘The Walking Dead’ with new narratives like ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ and a whole host of truly cool stories ahead. Woman Accuses Aziz Ansari of Sexual Assault

The woman claims Ansari doesn’t know if he got the message, but when it eventually clicked she said he said, “Of course, it’s only fun if we’re both having fun.”

“Grace” says Ansari continued to push himself on her.  She says she eventually left in tears. She texted Ansari the following day, “Last night might have been fun for you it wasn’t for me.  When we got back to your place, you ignored clear, non-verbal cues; you kept going with advances.  You had to have noticed I was uncomfortable.”  She then described part of the experience.

The woman says she decided to come forward after she saw Ansari wear a Times Up pin at the Golden Globes, where he won Best Actor.
