Emmys ratings hit all-time low with only 11.3 million viewers; down 5% from 2015.
Despite having one of the most diverse award shows in television history, it seems as though men and women across the country could care less about who received Outstanding actor in a drama series as the ratings for The Emmys have hit a new low, pulling in 11.3 million viewers last night.
According to Nielsen, ratings for the 2016 Emmys have dropped from last year’s 11.9 million overall audience numbers on Fox. Unfortunately, for Jimmy Kimmel and the crew behind this year’s Emmys ratings have slipped 5%.
However, all is not lost. 25.9 million unique viewers tuned in to watch at least some of the Emmys for at least six minutes. However, ABC needed audiences to stay around for three primetime hours.
Meanwhile on social media, the Emmys generated 2.7 social media interactions on Facebook and Twitter, according to Nielsen.
