Netflix To Raise Subscription Their Prices Soon (REPORT)

Netflix will reportedly increase its subscription fee shortly.


According to reports by Alex Giaimo, “After a change in language regarding pricing on the (second-quarter) call, we believe a potential hike is probable in the near to midterm.”

News outlet Deadline released the notes saying, “In Q1, Netflix said that they were ‘not even thinking about price increases,’ while the Q2 language was more open-ended.”

Reports suggest that while the streaming service is considering increasing its monthly price, it will not be a massive price hike. If the current price only increased by a dollar or two a month, it would generate $500 million to $1 billion in revenue in 2021. Giaimo suggests Europe, the Middle East, and Africa will see price increases.

Netflix is facing a streaming war, and for Netflix to continue to compete, the company may have to spend more money to secure big Hollywood names for its content.

Netflix’s investment in original content spells excellent news for aspiring actors. Netflix ramped up production in 2020 with multi-billion dollar investment in content. The streaming platform will invest around $17.3 billion in scope, up from $15.3 billion in 2019. Netflix will not slow down anytime soon.

In relevant news, Netflix’s next big feature film, Red Notice, has resumed production in Atlanta, Georgia. Also, Netflix’s Stranger Things is set to continue filming this week.

Influencers can make tens of thousands if not millions of dollars. The power of a social media following has translated from a cool statistic to a powerful tool in the entertainment industry. As we previously reported, more and more casting directors are choosing talent who have a larger social media following than those that do not regardless of talent. This translates to above the line and below the line workers doing whatever it takes to gain a social media following. As a result, this new news report surrounding studio space is not that surprising.

According to reports, Los Angeles influencers have been posting fake private jet selfies. A recent listing on booking platform Peerspace has revealed several studios with staged setups including interiors of private jets.

A twitter user broke the news and discovered these rooms are offering rates at only $64/hour. “I just found out LA IG girlies are using studio sets that look like private jets for their pics,” says Melissa (@maisonmeIissa). It’s crazy that anything you’re looking at could be fake. The setting, the clothes, the body… IDK it just kinda shakes my reality a bit lol.”


In relevant news, TikTok is turning unknown people into Hollywood superstars.

TikTok currently has 120 million users in the United States, and the video-sharing app is known becoming known as a great way for unknown actors, models, and talent to get discovered. Moreover, the valuable marketing platform for brands seeking to capture the eyes and minds of Generation Z.

In a report by The Hollywood Reporter, the analytics firm Sensor Tower estimates people downloaded more than 100 million times in the United States. The UTA recently signed Brittany Tomlinson, whose August video showed her trying kombucha for the first time, and it had 1 million likes. Then the NFL announced a multiyear partnership with TikTok to offer game highlights and behind-the-scenes footage to users. Now, Will Smith is transitioning to TikTok after taking over Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram. Will Smith has over 700 million fans.

‘Avatar 3’ is Nearly Finished Filming (VIDEO)

Avatar 2 has wrapped production and 100% completed filming. Avatar 3 is nearly finished.

In a video conference with former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger for the 2020 Australian World Summit, Avatar movie director James Cameron says he is getting ready for the movie’s new release dates in the franchise.

“COVID hit us like it hit everybody,” the director said. “We lost about four and a half months of production. As a result of that, we’ve rolled around one more full year for a release in December of 2022. That’s been announced already.”

He continued: “Now that doesn’t mean I have an extra year to finish the film because the day we deliver ‘Avatar 2,’ we’ll just start working on finishing ‘Avatar 3.’ So where we are right now, I’m down in New Zealand shooting, we’re shooting the remainder of the live-action. We’ve got about 10 percent left to go. We’re 100 percent complete on ‘Avatar 2’ and we’re sort of 95 percent complete with ‘Avatar 3.'”

James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger have a very long history. Cameron director the former California Governor in The Terminator. When discussing the upcoming movie, Cameron revealed filming in New Zealand helped out due to the country’s COVID-19 response.

“We’re very lucky in that we chose this as our production site years ago,” he told Schwarzenegger. “We made the first film here in New Zealand and it turns out to be ranking first or second-best country in the world for its COVID response.”

Avatar 4 and Avatar 5 are also in pre-production.

In related news, Matt Damon revealed he had missed out on a $250 million payday after turning down the lead role in James Cameron‘s 2009 sci-fi movie Avatar.

In a recent interview with GQ for a promotional tour for the upcoming “Ford v Ferrari,” which filmed in Savannah, Georgia, Damon says studios approached him with an offer to pay him 10% of what the movie would end up making.

“[Cameron] goes, ‘Now, listen. I don’t need anybody. I don’t need a name for this, a named actor. If you don’t take this, I’m going to find an unknown actor and give it to him, because the movie doesn’t need you. But if you take part, I’ll give you 10 percent of [the profits],’” the actor said.

Anthony Mackie Reveals How He Prepared for Marvel’s Falcon Role

Anthony Mackie reveals how his Juilliard physical acting teacher helped him deal with the physical challenges of Marvel’s Falcon role.

Anthony Mackie, who plays the Falcon, is a Juilliard trained actor. Since he joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, he learned acting is a lot tougher when you’re dropped 30 feet from the sky.

In comments shared by Entertainment Weekly, Mackie discussed and talked about the physical challenges playing a superhero. He credited what he learned about physical acting from his education through Juilliard professor Moni Yakim. The interview is from Mackie’s appearance in the recent documentary about Yakin, Creating a Character: The Moni Yakim Legacy.

Mackie says when he first signed up to play Falcon, he studied the flying habits of birds to determine how the character would land after flying. He tells The Marvel movies were the first time I had to do an action thing. My name’s the Falcon, so I show up, I sit with the graphics team and the directors, and they’re like, ‘We want you to land like a bird.’ Because you have wings… you have to pull your legs in, swoop your core in, let your wings slow you down, and then land on your feet. Being the weird actor that I am and going back to my mime and clown days, I went and started studying all these birds and the way they land, the way they took off, they way they flew, and all this stuff.”

Even preparing for the role, he still did not have very many graceful landings. Mackie continues, “The first day — I think we were doing Civil War, and there’s the scene where [Vision] shoots Rhodey out of the sky and I land to see if he’s okay — I’m supposed to land, so they pull me up like 30 feet off the ground and I’m on a pendulum, so I’m supposed to pull my legs under me and land to a stop. I didn’t realize how much my lower body weighed, so I pull on the ropes to try and bring my legs under but I can’t get my core in, and I literally land face-first in the dirt and bounce for about 10 feet. I have grass and mud all in my face. The crew is just dying laughing. Everybody is dying laughing.”

He added, “It became a comedy of errors of every day when I had to land and how they were going to kill me. To this day: ‘How do we crash him into something?'”

That said, Mackie credits the physicality of his Juilliard training for keeping him healthy during crash landings. He says, “The physicality of that directly stems from the work — the physical work, the clown work, mime work, the body inhabitance — that we learned in Moni’s class”

In relevant news, Anthony Mackie discussed how Marvel should work on increasing diversity on set. During an interview with Daveed Diggs for Variety’s Actors on Actor, Mackie discussed how the Black Lives Matter movement is putting a spotlight on diversity in Hollywood.

“It really bothered me that I’ve done seven Marvel movies where every producer, every director, every stunt person, every costume designer, every PA, every single person has been white,” the 41-year-old began.
“We’ve had one Black producer — his name was Nate Moore,” Mackie continued. “He produced ‘Black Panther.’ But then when you do ‘Black Panther,’ you have a Black director, Black producer, a Black costume designer, a Black stunt choreographer. And I’m like, that’s more racist than anything else.”
“Because if you only can hire the Black people for the Black movie, are you saying they’re not good enough when you have a mostly white cast?” Mackie added that changes in hiring practices should be implemented even if it means creating a percentage system to get aspiring talent more experiences.

Yara Shahidi Cast as Tinkerbell in Disney’s Live-Action ‘Peter Pan and Wendy’ Movie

Disney’s live-action Peter Pan and Wendy cast Yara Shahidi as Tinkerbell.

Yara Shahidi will play the Disney character in the studio’s upcoming live-action feature film, Peter Pan and Wendy. The 20-year-old joins Alexander Molony and Ever Anderson, who will play Peter and Wendy. Jude Law will play Captain Hook.

It’s important to note, Shahidi has worked as an actor since she was a child. But, it was her role in ABC’s 2014 TV series Black-ish, which made her a household name. She recently starred in the teen romantic drama The Sun is Also a Star. 

Peter Pan and Wendy is based on Disney’s 1953 animated movie and will be directed by David Lowery, who also co-wrote the script with Toby Halbrooks. Lowery previously directed Pete’s Dragon for Disney.

In relevant Peter Pan and Wendy news, in January, casting directors started casting speaking roles for the movie. Kimberley Gatt was casting the following speaking roles:

  1. Wendy Moira Angela Darling (10 -15 years old) – A mischievous, playful girl who is due to go to boarding school — a transition she dreads. She is not ready to say goodbye to childhood and grow up. LEAD SPEAKING ROLE.
  2. Peter Pan (11 – 14 years old) – The personification of boyhood, a magical youth who never has to grow up. A magnificent and fearless swordsman and fighter. LEAD SPEAKING ROLE.
  3. John Darling (9 – 12 years old) – A young boy with an old head on his shoulders. Loves to play sword fighting games of derring-do with his siblings. LEAD SPEAKING ROLE.
  4. Michael Darling (7 – 10 years old) – A sweet boy who never lets go of his constant companion — a stuffed bear. LEAD SPEAKING ROLE.

Filming is expected to take place in Canada later this year.

Dwayne Johnson endorses Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for the 2020 Presidential Election.

On Sunday, the actor and former University of Miami football player made what he says is his “first ever (public) presidential endorsement” by announcing support for the former Vice President Joe Biden. Biden and Harris will challenge President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence on Elecition Day, November 3.

Dwayne Johnson acknowledged his complicated voting record in an Instagram post, while announcing his endorsement.

“As a political independent and centrist for many years, I’ve voted for Democrats in the past and as well as Republican,” the upcoming Red Notice actor announced, adding in an accompanying video he has “friends in all parties.”

The video also shows Dwayne Johnson having a Zoom conversation with the two candidates. The 48-year-old actor praises Biden for leading “in my opinion, with great compassion, and heart, and drive, but also the soul.” He considers the “smart, tough” Harris, meanwhile, to be a “certified badass.”

Johnson asked how they would earn the respect of fellow Americans. Biden promised to take responsibility, tell the truth, and have an administration that is “going to look like America” and be a representation of America.”

“You cannot have trust if you don’t have the truth,” added Harris.

Dwayne Johnson added an Instagram caption saying, “Progress takes courage, humanity, empathy, strength, grit, kindness and respect. Being KIND & RESPECTFUL to one another will always matter … Now we must ALL VOTE.”

Johnson’s rare endorsement comes a week after casting calls for Netflix’s Red Notice went out looking for singers, which is now filming in Atlanta, Georgia.

Amazon’s ‘The Boys’ R-Rated College Spinoff is In Development

Amazon’s The Boys is getting a spinoff.

According to Variety, Amazon is working on a new version of the popular comic book series. This news comes just three weeks after the premiere of Season 2 of The Boys. The second season, which is airing weekly, will air the finale on October 9th.

Amazon reports the second season had the most-watched global launch of an Amazon original series ever, with the episode’s viewership growing by 89%. The series was renewed for a third season ahead of the Season 2 premiere while also adding an after show.

The spinoff will reportedly focus on America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes, who are run by Vought International. It is described as an R-rated series that explores “the lives of hormonal, competitive supes as they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. Part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire and raunch of “The Boys.”

The second season follows the vigilantes on the run as they are hunted by the Vought superheroes. Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon), and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) are hiding after the events of the first season. Meanwhile, Homeland (Anthony Starr) is trying to expand his power, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) is trying to find her own place in the Seven as the group changes. Stormfront (Aya Cash) is a social-media-savvy new superhero, who comes in with an agenda of her own.

The new spinoff series pilot will be written by Craig Rosenberg and will work as a showrunner and executive producer under his deal with Sony Pictures Television. Rosenberg is currently working as a writer and executive producer on the show. The Boys creator Erick Kripke will work alongside Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver of Point Grey Pictures. Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television will produce the project.

Oprah Winfrey Network Series ‘Delilah’ Open Casting Call

Oprah Winfrey Network‘s Delilah is now casting and hiring actors in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Casting directors are now casting actors, models, and talent to work on scenes filming in Charlotte, North Carolina this October 2020 through January 2021. According to the Charlotte Observer, the new series is Delilah. 

Producers are seeking the following types:

About Delilah:

Delilah is a new TV series from Warner Bros. Television for Winfrey’s OWN network. The new series centers around a headstrong, highly principled lawyer in Charlotte who left a challenging law firm to raise her children. Filming is planned in Charlotte and surrounding areas. It’s eligible for a film grant rebate up to $5.4 million. The series from Craig Wright will star Maahra Hill in the leading role, and is set to air next year. Oprah Winfrey also is an executive producer, and native Charles Randolph-Wright.

In a Warner Bros. press release, the show’s plot is described as follows: “Maahra Hill (“Black-ish,” “How to Get Away With Murder”) stars as Delilah Connolly, a headstrong, highly principled lawyer living in Charlotte, North Carolina. Delilah’s doing her best to raise two kids alone and keep her ties to family, friends and faith strong, all the while ceaselessly seeking justice for those who need it most, in a time when the rich and powerful of Charlotte and beyond will do anything to stop her. Also joining the cast are Jill Marie Jones (“Girlfriends”) as Tamara Grayson, Delilah’s confidante and best friend; Susan Heyward (“Orange is the New Black”), who portrays Demetria Barnes, Delilah’s newly hired, fearless, and ambitious associate; and Ozioma Akagha (Marvel’s “Runaways”), who plays Delilah’s unfailingly sunny secretary, Harper Conant.”

“On the heels of the incredible success story of ‘Greenleaf,’ we are thrilled to continue our partnership with Craig on this compelling new drama,” said Tina Perry, president, OWN. “Our viewers are going to deeply relate to this story that focuses on a powerful woman committed to her family and her community.”

Enola Holmes Sequel is In Development

‘Enola Holmes’ director says a sequel talks are currently happening.

Netflix’s Enola Holmes may have hit the streaming platform this week, but the movie has Hollywood buzzing. Warner Bros. was originally planning to release the movie into theaters, but due to the Coronavirus pandemic, they sold the distribution rights to Netflix.

Now, a sequel is reportedly in development. In a new interview to celebrate the movie’s success, director Harry Bradbeer has confirmed talks are already underway about bringing Millie Bobby Brown back for a sequel.

“There’s discussion. I can’t really say. It’d be crazy of me to say.” He added, “Well, I hope I’d have the energy for that, yeah. That would be amazing. Someone’s going to have the energy for it! It’d be wonderful to get five more movies out of this scene. I do think they’re extraordinary stories to tell, and what a period. As you go forward, things like that three-wheeled car—which was a lovely thing we discovered — to find our characters playing on some of the new contraptions, at some point in the early 20th century. Of course, we get airplanes and the Wright brothers. Who knows what other challenges are going to come out of this really restless, productive period.”

There are six books in the Enola Holmes series to adapt, and plenty of material left to create as Sherlock’s little sister plans to escape from her brother’s shadow and establish herself as a leading detective. Netflix will make sure that it happens soon given the rapid success of the first movie.

It’s nice to note that Project Casting shared casting calls for lead speaking roles in the movie in 2019. At the time, casting directors were looking for the following, “Looking for young actor age 16 to 18 years old to play upper-class British aristocrat.”

In relevant news, Netflix plans to resume filming for Stranger Things this September 28th. The upcoming fourth season of Netflix’s Stranger Things is reportedly getting ready for a late September restart after putting the show on pause for six months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On March 13, Netflix called for the platform to pause all productions in the United States and Canada for two weeks. This took place when Stranger Things 4 was in the early stages of production. The next season, which picks up with Jim Hopper still alive but a prisoner in a Russian prison following the events of the third season.

‘The Batman’ To Film in Chicago This October

‘The Batman‘ is reportedly set to film in Chicago starting this October 2020.

The Batman is arguably one of Hollywood’s most highly-anticipated productions. Now that production on The Batman has safely restarted, it sounds like filming will soon begin in the United States.

According to reports, The Batman is scheduled to shoot in Chicago, Illinois in October of this year. Screen Magazine reports production is set to film for five days across two weekends starting October 16th through October 25th. The report claims filming will take place in downtown Chicago and include “extensive driving sequences.”

Many DC movies have filmed at one point or another in Chicago for certain scenes. These movies include Man of Steel, Batman v. Superman, and Justice League. Most importantly, Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy made use of Chicago’s landscape and some of its surrounding areas. Also, The CW’s Batwoman has filmed parts of its series in Chicago.

Reeves discussed the importance of cities in the making of The Batman during an appearance at DC FanDome. “It’s sort of like the nature of what this place is, and the history of it is critically important to our story and one of the things that I really wanted to do because it is the center of the story – especially the history of corruption in the city. [That] was I wanted to present it in a way that was really fleshed out, I wanted it to feel like an American city you’d never been to. I mean other iterations… the Burton one had very, very, theatrical, beautiful sets – and Nolan had the version that he created in Batman Begins and that was… parts of Chicago and parts of Pittsburgh. And what we’re trying to do is create a version of it that you haven’t seen before.”

“So some of the locations that we’ve chosen… let’s say there’s like, we have like a Gotham Square, so that’s like Times Square right now, if we shot it in Times Square then you’d be like I guess Gotham is New York,” Reeves continued. “But in our case, it’s actually going to be Liverpool. And the idea is to go to Liverpool, where there’s all the sort of the foundation of the Gothic architecture, and then add all of the more modern structures in through CG… Now that I’ve floated off course I’ve told you what it is… so that aspect of Gotham and realizing it has been for me, one of the great pleasures in getting to make the movie.”

In relevant news, filming for The Batman resumes after Robert Pattinson is cleared of Coronavirus COVID-19.After Robert Pattinson reportedly tested positive for COVID-19, Variety reports the actor can return to the movie’s U.K. set. “Following a hiatus for COVID 19 quarantine precautions, filming has now resumed on The Batman in the U.K.,” a Warner Bros. spokesperson confirmed to the outlet, without mentioning the leading actor by name. Production shut down on September 3 after Vanity Fair broke the news of Robert Pattinson’s diagnosis, starting the 14-day quarantine time required by the COVID-19 safety requirements. Members of the crew reportedly continued to work on other scenes of the movie during the two-week break. According to reports, director Matt Reeves continued to shoot select scenes with Pattinson’s stunt double. Warner Bros. dismissed those reports to Variety, suggesting filming stopped after September 3 as much of the cast and crew went into quarantine.
