Amazon Studios is now holding a principal role casting search.

Amazon Studios is now casting two principal roles for a new series filming in Canada 2022. Details for the production have not been released. However, Bright/Daniels Casting is running a casting search looking for talent.

Producers are seeing the following talent:

  • Tegan and Sara – Characters portrayed as she/her, white, 18 -22 to play 15. LGBTQ+ identical twins. Vocal/Guitar skills are a plus, but not required. Must be comfortable with LGBTQ content. We strongly encourage actors who identify as LGBTQ+ to submit for this role

About HBO Max’s Minx:

According to Deadline, HBO Max has given a ten-episode order to the 30-minute comedy pilot Minx. The new series will star Ophelia Lovibond and Jake Johnson and comes from Ellen Rapoport, Paul Feig’s Feigco Entertainment and Lionsgate Television.

The cast of the show also includes Idara Victor, Jessica Lowe, Lennon Parham, Michael Angarano and Oscar Montoya.

The series is set in 1970s Los Angeles and focuses around a young feminist (Lovibond) who joins forces with a low-rent publisher (Johnson) to create the first erotic magazine for women.

“We are so excited about this series, which is fun, feminist, and wholly unique, and we couldn’t ask for a better cast or partners in Ellen, Rachel, Feigco and Lionsgate,” said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max.

We’re excited to be casting Southern Californian locals as background talent for MINX, HBO Max

This is a light-hearted ‘adult’ comedy

Our story takes place Los Angeles in the early 70’s, so we’re specifically looking for background  talent that have natural 70’s vibe.  Sideburns, mustaches, afros,  Natural eyebrows, hair, no permanent make-up, acrylics nails or eyelash extensions. No breast implants.

Even though many scenes will not have anything sexual about them, we want to be crystal clear that this show is spicey!  There will be nudity, sexual situations, sexual content in our storyline.

In order to work on this project, you must be okay with the content, even though your scenes may have nothing to do with matters of a sexual nature.  For example at a restaurant, office, classic cars, a country club.

About Wheat Germ:

Wheat Germ is a Netflix original movie and based on the novel White Noise by Don DeLillo. The novel centers around a train wreck, which causes a gas leak and a mass evacuation of a town.

The film will star Greta Gerwig, Noah Baumbach and Adam Driver. Driver will play a college professor who teaches at the local university and Gerwig will play his wife, according to wkyc.com. The movie will show the two face the toxic gas leak together.

Noah Baumbach is who is both directing and adapting the screenplay. Before Baumbach was attached to the project (it’s been optioned since October 2016), it was originally reported that Barry Sonnenfeld and Michael Almereyda were attached.

Douglas Aibel is working as the casting director for the movie while Mayra Auad, David Heyman, and Uri Singer are the executive producer and producer respectively.

Gaslit is an upcoming political thriller television series, based on the podcast Slow Burn that is set to premiere on Starz.

The project was announced in February 202 with Sam Esmail, Julia Roberts, Sean Penn, Armie Hammer, and Joel Edgerton cast in the series. Edgerton was also set to direct the series with his brother Nash Edgerton. Hammer would leave the series in January 2021 due to scheduling conflicts.

The series was picked up by Starz, while both Edgerton brothers left the show. Matt Ross joined as the new director. Dan Stevens would be cast to replace Hammer in April, with Betty Gilpin, Shea Whigham, and Darby Camp joining in May.
