‘Fathers and Daughters’ Starring Russel Crowe Casting Call for Kids

‘Fathers and Daughters’ starring Russel Crowe is seeking kid extras for a scene filming in Philadelphia.

Mosser Casting posted a casting looking for kids ages 6-12. Talents must be available March 14th or March 15th. Filming should take about 9 hours or less.
“The movie centers on a father and daughter living 25 years apart in New York City. Crowe will portray a famous novelist and widower struggling with mental illness as he tries to raise his 5-year-old daughter. Seyfried will portray the now-grown daughter in present-day Manhattan as she battles the aftermath of her troubled childhood.”

The producers for Empire are now casting an African American male actor to work as a stand-in tomorrow through Friday in Chicago.

They are looking for an African American male about 6’0 to 6’2 and approximately 170 to 185 with black hair.
The series centers on the world of a hip-hip empire. The drama will feature original and new music. Terrence Howard was recently cast as the lead role in the series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Howard will play Lucious Lyon, the head of a record label, in the drama from The Butler‘s Daniels and Strong. Lucious is described as charismatic, tough, wise and a superstar in the music industry who oversees Empire Entertainment and is about to take the company public. What You Need to Know about the SAG-AFTRA Code of Ethics for Personal Managers

The SAG-AFTRA Union has released a Personal Manager Code of Ethics and Conduct

SAG-AFTRA has unveiled its Personal Manager Code of Ethics and Conduct, a set of guidelines the union hopes will promote honest and ethical relationships between its members and their managers.

This is the first step for the Union to provide a sense of ethical guidelines for managers. They previously worked closely with talent agencies and provided a framework that members and talent agents should follow.

The guidelines create distinctions between what a manger does and what an agent is supposed to do. They point out that managers hould not also be agents and that managers should help find members agents.

A copy of the Personal Manager Code of Ethics and Conduct can be viewed at www.sagaftra.org/managers.

The provisions include:

  • Putting the member’s interests above their own and not deriving personal gain at member’s expense.
  • Being truthful and acting in an honest, ethical and appropriate manner.
  • Acknowledging they will not solicit employment for their client, except under the control and direction of a franchised agent.
  • Encouraging SAG-AFTRA member clients to uphold their obligations to the union.
  • Keeping SAG-AFTRA member clients’ funds segregated in an escrow or trust account.
  • Never using self-renewing provisions or collecting upfront/advance fees or charges of any kind.
  • Respecting and supporting the relationship SAG-AFTRA members have with their talent agents.
  • Not being licensed by any state as a talent or employment agency.
  • Assisting a SAG-AFTRA member client’s search for a talent agent.
  •  Agreeing to arbitrate disputes through SAG-AFTRA.

“The establishment of the Personal Manager Code of Ethics and Conduct is a true ‘win-win,’ assuring important protections for SAG-AFTRA members while providing significant and meaningful benefits to our listed personal managers,” said SAG-AFTRA chief operating officer and general counsel Duncan Crabtree-Ireland.

Manager Gerry Pass of Chrome Artists Management said he was excited about the new guidelines.

“Today marks a great step forward in honest and ethical talent representation,” he said. “This is SAG-AFTRA’s recognition of the vital work that managers do on behalf of actors, while at the same time we see all talent managers held to a higher standard.”

What Brad Pitt Did Not Want You to Know About ’12 Years a Slave’

Brad Pitt has been trying to stop a feud that started on the set of ’12 Years a Slave’.

Before ’12 Years a Slave’ was nominated with an Academy Award, director Steve McQueen and screenwriter John Ridley were entangled in a fierce battle over the credit of the Oscar-winning screenplay. 

The feud was so intense, that both McQueen and Ridley had tried to keep it quiet until it reached a climax last Sunday Night during the Oscars ceremony.

So here is the story. McQueen’s wife read the book that inspired ’12 Years a Slave’ and Steve McQueen asked Ridley to work on a screenplay version of the production. It is reported that the McQueen helped in shaping the script that Ridley turned in. But when McQueen asked for shared credit, which is common practice in Hollywood, Ridley said no. This infuriated McQueen. The director was so upset he contacted FOX Searchlight and to the dismay of Steve McQueen, they sided with Ridley. That did not make relations any better. Executives for FOX Searchlight asked Brad Pitt, a producer and actor in ’12 Years a Slave’ to step in and help fix the feud.

During the acceptance speech, Ridley made no mentions of the director and some people say McQueen’s response was less than enthusiastic. See the unsmiling applause below:

Later, when ’12 Years a Slave’ won for best picture, Steve McQueen made no mention of Ridley’s contribution.

The two had bad relations for some time. Apparrently, McQueen would ignore the screenwriter and stop people from speaking to Ridley. McQueen also insisted that the writer sit at different tables during award shows. During the BAFTA awards ceremony, TheWrap reports that ” McQueen berated Ridley’s wife while the writer was in the bathroom, trying to snatch up her BAFTA souvenirs and leaving her in tears, according to two insiders who passed along details of the outburst.”

They tried to keep their feud silent and it worked. The movie won several academy awards, BAFTA awards, and a wide array of other nominations.

Ridley is currently in Austin, Texas working on a television series for ABC–American Crime. There are no reports of whether Steve McQueen will help in the making the TV production.

New ‘Jurassic World’ Open Casting Call for Kids, Teens and Adults Announced

The open casting calls for Jurassic World have not ended yet.  An open call has now been scheduled for Kauai, Hawaii.

The company Ebb Tide Productions is holding a casting call on Sunday, March 16, 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., at Kauai Community College’s performing arts center.

Producers for ‘Jurassic World’ are looking for men, women and children ages 10 to 15 who are comfortable being on the water and military. All ethnicities are welcomed to apply and attend the casting call. There will be no fees are charges for attending or participating in the casting call.

The last open casting call was on Oahu last weekend and hundreds attended. So get their early to avoid the long lines.

Jurassic World will be the first large feature film for director Colin Trevorrow who previously worked on Safety Not Guaranteed.

Recently, Chris Pratt spoke with MTV News, and Pratt praised Trevorrow’s vision. “He’s got a great vision for the movie… It’s awesome that Steven Spielberg is taking a chance on this guy because he’s got a really clear vision.  I sat down with him and it was kind of like with me and [‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ director] James [Gunn], we just kind of started getting excited about this.”

TV Ratings: The Walking Dead vs The Oscars – Who Won?

Oscars Demolish ‘Walking Dead’ In Ratings

The Walking Dead was able to beat the Olympics, and Sunday Night Football but, they could not match the fury of the Oscars last night.

The 12th episode of Season 4 of AMC’s zombie apocalypse was able to bring in 12.6 million viewers at 9 PM last night. That is about 46% less than Oscars, which drew in 40.1 million viewers from 9-10 PM.

But, the head to head competition was not much a loss for The Walking Dead since, last week the series saw a 3% drop in viewers. Maybe the beginning of the end of the zombie thriller.

The 2014 Oscars drew in a 10 year high despite being received poorly by critics. According to Deadline, “the Oscars telecast was up 6% from the 40.3 million who tuned in last year, when Seth MacFarlane fronted the live ceremony for ABC.” See the graph below for an illustration of the last 10 year ratings.

The English-language El Rey – which is set to premiere this December nation-wide with initial carriage via Comcast – would air From Dusk Till Dawn as its first scripted series. Robert Rodriguez, is heavily involved in getting the network off the ground, will be writing, producing and directing the From Dusk Till Dawn series himself. The series will expand on the story and characters from his original film and providing more Aztec mythology. There has not been a report if the two sequels will be included in the television series since, Robert Rodriguez only worked as a producer on those projects.

Extras Casting Atlanta is currently looking for background actors to portray business men and women.
 
Filming is scheduled for this Friday. But talents will be required to attend a fitting as soon as tomorrow, Monday, March 2, 2014.
 
AMC’s pilot ‘Halt and Catch Fire’ is set in the early 1980s, it dramatizes the personal computing boom through the eyes of a visionary, Joe (Lee Pace); an engineer, Gordon (Scoot McNairy); and a prodigy, Cameron (Mackenzie Davis), whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time.

Casting directors for ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ are now seeking a blonde caucasian talent to work as a specific stand-in on the Robert Rodriguez TV series.

Filming is scheduled for Austin, Texas this Tuesday, March 4th. The call time will be late Tuesday night and will continue until early morning Wednesday, March 5th.
The producers are specifically looking for a Caucasian male, 5’7”-5’9” with blonde hair, an  average build and looks about to be in his 30’s to 50’s.
Robert Rodriguez, is heavily involved in getting the network off the ground. He will be writing, producing and directing the From Dusk Till Dawn series himself. The series will expand on the story and characters from his original film and providing more Aztec mythology.
