Ed Helm’s ‘Vacation’ Remake Casting Call for families in Atlanta, Georgia

Tammy Smith Casting is looking for families to work on the ‘Vacation’ remake starring Ed Helms and Christina Applegate.

Ed Helms stars in the New Line Cinema reboot of the Vacation film series asRusty Griswald, the son of Chevy Chase’s iconic character of the original four films. Vacation stars Ed Helms and Christina Applegate and Horrible Bosses‘ directors’ John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein write and direct.

Casting directors are looking for Caucasian men and women ages 35 to 50 for selection to be parents of a young girl in a car driving next to the movie’s lead family.

Filming will take place on Wednesday, September 24th in Atlanta, Georgia. The dad in the scene will be driving the car so the male talents must be an experienced, solid driver.

A new study suggests that Michael Bay movies cause people to eat more junk food.

Recently, a group of scientists with a whole lot of free time found a correlation between Transformers and trans-fats. A study released by the Los Angeles Times point out that people who watched Michael Bay’s ‘The Island‘ were more likely to eat junk food than those who watched a slower-paced talk show.

The study centred on 98 undergraduate students who were invited to a room stocked with a plentiful supply of chocolate, biscuits, fruit and vegetables and shown the film or TV show for 20 minutes while under observation. One third watched The Island, starring Ewan McGregor and Scarlett Johansson, with the sound on, while another third watched it with the sound off. A final third watched Charlie Rose. Researchers found those watching The Island with the sound on ate 98% more food and consumed 65% more calories than those who watched the talk show. [via]

Researchers argue that the more you are interested in watching a TV show or movie, the more likely you will eat more food without noticing what you are doing. “It’s something I noticed in myself,” researcher Aner Tal told the Los Angeles Times. “When I go to the cinema and watch a movie I’m really engrossed in, my popcorn will go from full to empty without me realising it. But if it is a movie I’m less into, I pay more attention to what I’m eating.”

‘Sleepy Hollow’ Marketing Team Apologizes for #HeadlessDay Campaign

“Sleepy Hollow” is having a major PR crisis as the show announced #HeadlessDay a promotion which happened to launch on the same day a 2nd U.S. journalist was beheaded by ISIS militants in Iraq.

The show is currently promoting season 1 DVD release with a series of memes cracking headless jokes poking fun at the main character in the TV series, the Headless Horseman.

The memes all have the line, “Happy Headless Day from Sleepy Hollow.”

Of course, it would have been impossible for anyone to predict ISIS would release the horrifying video of another execution at the same time. The marketing agency that created the campaign said, “We apologize for the unfortunate timing of our Sleepy Hollow Headless Day announcement.

The tragic news of Steven Sotloff’s death hit the web as the email was being sent. Our deepest sympathies are with him and his family, and we don’t take the news lightly.”

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment also sent out several apologies and condolences to the family adding, “We regret the unfortunate timing” of the promotion and the announcement. The campaign has been pulled.

Fox Cancels ‘Gang Related’

Fox has pulled the plug on the new series ‘Gang Related’.

The drama will not be returning to Fox’s schedule, according to TheWrap.

The series featured Ramon Rodriguez, Jay Hernandez, Cliff Curtis and Wu-Tang clan member, RZA. ‘Gang related centered on the Los Angeles Police Department’s gang task force. It premeired in May and finished it’s season on August 14th.

The final episode had very dismal ratings in the key demographic, with only 2.4 million total viewers. On the plus side, the series finale had 100% more viewers in comparison to the previous week’s episode.

Netflix Buys the Worldwide Exclusive Rights to Fox’s ‘Gotham’

Netflix really wants to know that they have a ton of money. After acquiring NBC’s ‘The Blacklist’ at around $2 million per episode, Netflix has their eye on gaining the rights to Warner Bros. ‘Gotham’.

According to Variety, Netflix is in negotiation for the rights to Fox’s ‘Gotham’ before the show even airs.

The pact is unusual not only because the series has yet to air an episode but because WB is granting Netflix multi-territory rights as opposed to the typical country-by-country dealmaking.

“In this era of new business models and expanding windows, this is an unprecedented deal for our company and our industry,” said Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, president, Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Distribution, in a statement.

Netflix proved its willing to take risks for what it perceives to be top-shelf content, as evidenced by the streaming service’s deal just last week with Sony Pictures Television for rights to the NBC drama “Blacklist,” which emerged as a hit during its first season.

Netflix ponied up a reported $2 million per episode to Sony for “Blacklist,” a sum sources say is is in the neighborhood of what each “Gotham” episode fetched. But while “Blacklist” was strictly a domestic deal, the global nature of the “Gotham” deal makes this a far more lucrative payout.

When they discuss the appeal of Gotham, it makes a lot of sense. But, there is no Batman in the TV series. The show consists of super villains before they face Batman, leaving you wondering where the show will go.

It will definitely get ratings, but will it be a quality show? My bet is the show is going to feature a ton of super villain cameos without a clear plot line. Which makes it a risky investment for the Netflix corporation. But, at the end of the day Netflix may not even care. They are willing to bet the cult following of Batman is enough to attract more subscribers and larger recurring charges to keep people entertained.

iPhone 6 Dangerous? Apple Denies Breach in Nude Celeb Leak

Apple Denies iCloud Security Breach is the reason why Hollywood celebrity photos leaked.

The father of the iPhone claims there is no security issues and that its online storage system has not been breached following Hollywood’s celebrity nude photo leak.

“After more than 40 hours of investigation, we have discovered that certain celebrity accounts were compromised by a very targeted attack on user names, passwords and security questions, a practice that has become all too common on the Internet,” Apple said Tuesday in a statement. “None of the cases we have investigated have resulted from any breach in any of Apple’s systems including iCloud or Find my iPhone. We are continuing to work with law enforcement to help identify the criminals involved.”

The photos were leaked over the weekend and included photos of Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lawrence, and Kirsten Dunst.

While no one has been arrested or charged, the FBI has started “looking” into the nude celeb leak. Despite, no evidence against Apple for causing the leak, many people have blamed Apple for the lack of security.

“Thank you iCloud,” Dunst tweeted on Monday, following her note with emoticons of pizza and feces. 

Apple reports that they are looking into the issue. But, with so many people it really makes the multi-billion dollar corporation look very unsafe.

“We take user privacy very seriously and are actively investigating this report,” Apple spokeswoman Natalie Kerris told CNN.

Many argue that even though Apple’s system was not breached, accounts could have been accessed simply by guessing individuals security questions:

It’s this easy. Tell Apple you forgot that person’s password, and then guess their security questions with readily available biographical information other Silicon Valley corporations have goaded us all into sharing. [ValleyWag]

But, the sad part is that celebrities are not the only group of people vulnerable to getting their private information stolen. If you search the anonymous message boards, there are countless hackers that brag about stealing people’s photos by easily bypassing Apple’s security.

As the iPhone 6 is set to be released this month many people are going to second guess how secure their private information, photos, and phone calls are from hackers, collectors, and perverts.

As she prepares for the inevitable and lethal 5th wave, Cassie meets a young man who may become her final hope.

1. We film Sept. 20th thru Dec 19th and we work a Tues-Sat work week. The pay rate is $80/8 hours with overtime after that (most days are 12 hr days or more) and we work mostly day scenes with a few night scenes as well.

5 Tips to Filming the Perfect Video Audition [VIDEO]

How to Self-Tape Auditions and Land the Role – Learn the Technical Skills to Get a Call Back

Nowadays actors are no longer visiting the studio or casting director’s office to audition. Instead, casting directors are asking actors to do video auditions.

This allows for casting directors to see more auditions in a shorter period of time, therefore, increasing the amount of competition an actor faces for every role. However, there are a few things you can do to stand out and beat your competition.

Here are a few tips that you should use on your next video audition.

1. How should the video be framed?

Many casting directors will provide detailed instructions for your video audition. But, if they do not it is a stand to frame the camera so that it cuts you off above your head and comfortable below the chest. This would be considered a “medium shot”.

2. Where should I film?

Shoot your video audition against a plain wall facing a window. The window should provide you with some soft light so casting directors can clearly see your face during your audition. Also, shoot in focus in landscape mode. In addition, your audio should be clear, audible and not fluctuate wildly. Strongly consider recording your audio with a recording device rather than your camera. The difference in audio can make or break your audio.

3. Should I move around a lot during my audition?

You should not bounce around a lot and you should not look directly into the camera. Instead, pretend there is someone just to the side of the camera. Your audition should show personality but be very brief.

4. What should I wear?

Wear something that compliments your colouring and adds to your character but, does not over do it. For example, if you are auditioning for a pirate role, then do not go overboard and buy an eye patch, a parrot, and a costume from Party City.

5. What can I do to make my audition stand out?

Record your audition on a tripod, ensure correct and constant exposure, and white balance. Do not try to oversell your editing skills with background audio or fancy edits. This is an audition and it show off your acting skills not your editing skills.
