Job Description:

We are seeking individuals with facial scarring or facial differences to portray club goers in the 1930s for the upcoming feature film, “Shotgun Wedding.” This is a unique opportunity to be part of a vibrant scene set in an era of excitement and transformation. The work involves interior scenes to be shot in Newark, New Jersey.

Job Responsibilities:

• Portray a 1930s club goer with authenticity and enthusiasm.

• Participate actively in all scheduled shooting days.

• Be comfortable working around smoke and in environments that simulate the 1930s club atmosphere.

• Attend a mandatory costume fitting in Brooklyn prior to the shoot.

• Be open to receiving a period-appropriate haircut and styling to align with the 1930s setting.

Requirements:

• Must have facial scarring or facial differences. We are looking for a diverse group of individuals who can bring authenticity and depth to the scenes.

• Must be comfortable with a period-appropriate haircut. Hair and makeup will be done to complement the 1930s theme.

• No allergies to wool, as costumes may contain woolen materials.

• Must be comfortable working around smoke, as some scenes will include atmospheric smoke to mimic the club setting of the 1930s.

• Availability for the tentative shooting dates on April 16th and 17th in Newark, New Jersey.

• Must be able to attend a costume fitting in Brooklyn. Details on the fitting will be provided upon selection.

Compensation:

• Pays SAG-AFTRA Special Ability rate: $218 for an 8-hour day.

We are currently seeking a non-union background actor to fill a critical role in one of our episodes.

Job Details: We are looking for a male background actor to play a photo match interviewee in an upcoming episode. This role is crucial in recreating a realistic and believable scenario for our audience.

Job Responsibilities:

• Participate in background scenes as directed.
• Work closely with the director and crew to fulfill the vision of the scene.

Job Details:

Extras will play a vital role in bringing the scenes to life, offering a realistic and vibrant backdrop to the main action. Your presence will contribute to the authenticity and atmosphere of various scenes throughout the film.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in background scenes as directed by the production team.
• Follow directions closely from directors and assistant directors to ensure scenes are executed as envisioned.

Casting Call: C4B Gambling Intervention

Storyline

This project is a non-broadcast, mobile-app-based video and audio addiction-therapy program. Developed by the Yale University Department of Psychiatry with support from the Mohegan Tribe of CT, this initiative aims to provide a digital intervention through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for individuals battling problem gambling. The app will offer skills and techniques to address gambling addiction as part of a multi-year, closed, patient study.

• Requirements: A seasoned actor with a broad range and excellent memorization skills for on-camera and voice-over reenactments of real-life situational scenes. This is a smoking role, where the talent may be required to use non-tobacco or herbal prop-cigarettes and work with a pet (cat or dog). Candidates must indicate their comfort level with smoking and pets in their self-tapes.

• Character Background: Beatrice is a grandmother grappling with a gambling problem, seeking an escape from her depression and grief following her husband’s death. Her addiction to the lively casino atmosphere has adversely affected her health and strained familial and financial relationships.

• Appearance: This role appears in 12 videos, totaling under 30 minutes of screen time, involving 8 testimonial/teleprompter scenes and 4 dialogue/memorized scenes.

Job Responsibilities

• Memorize and perform on-camera and voice-over reenactments based on real-life situations and dialogues.

• Work comfortably with non-tobacco or herbal prop-cigarettes and pets as required for the role.

• Attend and actively participate in rehearsals and fittings as scheduled.

Compensation:

• Central CT Shoots: $1,200/10 hrs. + 10%, for 2 consecutive days

• Short Day Shoots: $120/hr. + 10%, for a few hours on set in Southern CT or NYC

• Rehearsal & Fitting: $400 (up to 4 hrs.) in New Haven, CT + 10%

• Includes hotel and meal stipends for overnight stays, plus reimbursement for public transportation or car service/rental (only if traveling over 1 hour and approved in advance).
