We are on the lookout for passionate and talented young female Odissi dancers to be a part of an upcoming prestigious dance production. If you have a deep love for Odissi dance and are looking to showcase your talents on a grand stage, we invite you to join our casting call.

Job Details:

This project aims to celebrate the rich tradition of Odissi dance, and we are seeking young dancers who can convey the depth and emotion of this classical Indian dance form. Selected dancers will participate in a series of performances scheduled to take place in Mumbai, with the possibility of touring other cities depending on the success of the initial shows.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Attend all scheduled rehearsals punctually and prepared.

  • Work closely with the choreographer to understand and embody the choreography.

  • Participate in costume fittings and adhere to the dress code for rehearsals and performances.

  • Maintain a high level of physical fitness and take care of one’s health to perform the rigorous dance routines.

  • Be open to feedback and willing to make adjustments to one’s performance as directed by the choreographer or director.

  • Collaborate with other dancers and production staff to ensure smooth execution of the performances.

Requirements:

  • Must be based in Mumbai or willing to relocate for the rehearsal and performance schedule.

  • Previous training in Odissi dance is mandatory. Please provide details of training experience, including the name of the guru/institution and the number of years trained.

  • A video submission of a solo Odissi performance is required for the initial screening process.

  • Must have a strong commitment to the arts and a professional work ethic.

  • Parental or guardian consent is required for participants under 18 years of age.

Compensation Details:

  • This is a paid opportunity. Compensation will be based on experience and skill level.

  • In addition to monetary compensation, dancers will receive professional photos and videos of their performances for their personal portfolio use.

  • Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered for any performances outside of Mumbai.
